    I’m loving the Vomero. I find the ZoomX core has a nice pop to it even at easy paces and it brings out the magic in the air unit. It’s currently my main trainer

      I’ve only tried the novablast but I really like it. All these other one like both nimbus I just get lost in where they fit. novablast is just fine as a workhorse/ all around daily trainer. Why do I need anything else? I think companies need to do a better job creating grids or spectrums and explain where their each shoe in their lineup is supposed to be in terms of someone’s rotation. Short of that, I have to listen to multiple shoetubers to determine what each is good for and honestly, a lot of the shoes are just not needed or too narrow in scope for me. Not just ASICS, most brands

      @@jp05598 those are good points. I think the average person doesn't really need more than two pairs of shoes. And you are right that it can get quite confusing to understand exactly what specific shoes are intended for.

    i ran in Vomero 14 and they had the best support. That being said, you are correct about the narrow toe box. Eventually, as I increased my distance, my right toes started to go numb, so I moved into NB. If the toe box changed, I might give Nike V16 a chance. Thanks for the review.

    Call me biased but besides the very top Nike running shoues, anything below level are not comparable to other brands, especialy a brand like Asics. Nike (again besides their top super shoes) relies on their brand presence and do not make good running shoes (again I exclude the very expensive top tier few shoes they have, they are good), the rest are just 'riding' on the brands clout.

    • @Sabundy
      @Sabundy Před 2 lety +4

      I don't think you are biased. I totally agree with you. I think what you are saying is true. Just look at most shoe reviewers best of lists the last few years. Nike generally doesn't come out well on them except for as you say the odd expensive top of the line shoe they have. You see far more consistency across the board and across their entire line from Asics, Saucony, New Balance etc.....Imho Asics even beat Nike with the Meta speed Sky as far as carbon plated super shoes goes. I totally agree that Nike often coasts on their brand power. I think they have gotten lazy in running the last two years.

    I'm 59 and started running July 2020. I'm not fast and just have met some others to hang and run with and get exercise. I'm struggling with running shoes. Nov we all ran our 1st half marathon in tulsa. I started with the brooks ghost and then switched to the hoka Mach 4. I really like the lighter weight but my right foot (only right) the ball pr bone carries little further back than the left so many shoes on my right foot hurt back end of ball in upper mid-foot area on it. Brooks seems not better for it carries little extra width further back. I don't have wide foot is is just the right foot carries normal width little longer where that bone is. The Mach 4 does bother me but I tolerate it. I want cushion shoes for my knees and back but want it not to be clumsy and heavy. I have never ran in Asics and nobody has them around me in 12.5 size to try on. Do you think the nimbus lite 3 would be what might fit the bill?

    Nike... Good racing shoes and one nice max cushion model (Invincible Run) after years of boredom. Everything else is just off from this commercial "sport fashion" brand. Does anyone still take Nike serious?

    • @Sabundy
      @Sabundy Před 2 lety +1

      I agree with you. But I think that a lot of people do still take them seriously as they do innovate....in no small part due to their very deep RnD pockets. But I'm totally with you that they have been lazy and coasting on their brand power for far too long. Too many people give them a free pass when their overall lineup is inconsistent and nowhere as good as say Asics, Saucony, Hoka, New Balance etc in that regard. It does feel like Nike is increasingly becoming more of an athleisure brand.

    Yay! Another 10 mm drop shoe...
    Why!? Why can't they make this Vomero shoe with a 4 mm drop and just a little less rubber funk around the heel? Am I the only person out there that doesn't want to always go in a straight line at the same fast pace? Does anybody else want the ability to be able to bang a 90-degree turn in a Split Second? Thanks for doing the video, I just think that Asics, a super health conscious company and a Japanese company at that, would realize the importance to provide a line of low heel shoes, 0, 4 and 5 mm. I mean can we please have a 0 heal drop shoe with all the bells and whistles and gel that these running shoes have but keep it to a simple even1/2 inch height 🙏

      @@kofuzi I need Asics! I need Japanese shoes, I rolled my ankle a long time ago took me four years to get my ankle in decent shape no shoe on the planet work for me but Asics I got a pair of boots that are also Japanese and they work okay had a pair of Shimano shoes that were okay also discontinued, but Asics always work, there's some sort of magic going on between them and my foot. They made the fuzeX TR shoe which was the best shoe they ever made and then stopped making them. they had a 4 mm heel drop low to the ground felt solid as a rock when you first got it fit like a sock after 3 years I still have two pairs one of them is four years old the other is 1 1/2 years old I'm going to wear them forever. Asics offers no zero drop shoes and no low Drop shoe aside for stuff that's up 30pm high. They do make onitsuka tigers which are great for one month and then the soft foam wears away like a second graders pencil eraser, my improper right foot step ends up rolling me off the right side of the shoe I need gel or flight foam. I email them and beg them to make the fuze XTR shoe again or make onitsuka s particularly the Serrano in gel which is a no brainer! But they never respond. Check out the fuzeX TR shoe in black best shoe ever, coolest looking shoe ever. why did they have to abandon it?....

Just I would argue that Asics is doing better overall in terms of it's entire running line up than Nike. As in have better shoes overall across all running shoe categories.
