Testing Crankbrothers Stamp Speedlace Shoe / OC Steeps / 3/25/24

- I stopped by Crankbrothers and picked up the Speedlace Stamp shoes. I had the 2022 Stamp Lace shoe for over a year now and love them. Unlike all the other Five Ten shoes that normally fall apart after 6 months these have held up. I was expecting the same grip the Speedlace but they actually grip better than my old shoes. It was pretty significant I was able to tell the difference right away.
We went to hit the steeps in OC. The trails were running so good. We did a mix of shuttling and pedaling. We hit a total of 4 trails it was a solid day.

tell KC he needs to file a warranty claim via fox and they will send him the newest 2024 x2. it has some new internals to fix the problems on that shock.
I’m hearing the new 2024 model is coming down with similar issues at to the previous model. As soon as mine comes in using the warranty claim (by sending in a 2022 model) I’ll test it out. If I still have issues with the X2 I’ll just stick to my float X which I’m absolutely loving. Only time will tell !
@@JeepinIvan_MTB I just had this done last month no issues so far but the settings you used will not feel the same, apparently they added a volume spacer to the neg chamber.
@@JeepinIvan_MTB i have atleast 7 months of use on mine on bikeparks flow and tech trails with no issue and thats on a ebike

They are solid and I was si surprised at how much they grip 💪💪💪
Super Trail Tommy those steeps look more realistic from your camera, you rode nice flowy bits there that I love and those types are the shit because they are exhilarating! Your bike handles that so well!👌

I love the crankbrothers shoes my only complaint is they shrink in the dryer quite a bit. That said I never read the cleaning instructions so that could 100% be my fault. The second pair I took more care with and they have been solid.
Oh damn yeah I don't think you should throw the shoes in dryer. My old ones have held up for a year so I'm sure these will as well 💪💪💪
@@TommyHuynh Yeah, I never had to dry shoes when I lived in SoCal so it was a lesson learned haha.
We really need to update our trail building in Southern California to endure extreme weather events. In San Diego, ruts are turning into Grand Canyons. The people at Greer seem to know some fancy ways of dealing with rain run-off. I would love to learn from them
The trail builders at Greer put in a ton of water bars so it really helps preventing ruts but what they have going for them is those trails are not steep. The problem with Laguna is the trails are very steep the dirt is also different so there's a small window to do trail work after rain to clean up ruts. Once they dry they are hard to fix. I know tons of people who do work in Laguna but they take huge risks with tickets from rangers where there is no one giving tickets to builders at Greer. We did a shit ton of work today in Norco and it wasn't stressful cuz we knew no one giving tickets to fix up trails there.
