- This by far is the worst crash I've ever had. I fell 25 feet off a cliff and thank God I somehow stopped 1 foot from the ledge. If I would have fallen off of the 2nd ledge it would have been another 50 foot drop. I actually didn't even know how close to the edge I was until I edited this video. Sorry it's taken so long for this edit, it actually took a few days before I was even willing to look at footage and edit the video. I was really shaken up from the fall and still have nights where I can't go back to sleep when I wake up thinking about it. Thank you to everyone who reached out to me, huge thanks to Matt and Conner who got me out safely and most importantly thank God who protected me.
I have hit this feature so many times I am usually nervous but for some reason on this day I rolled in too cocky and it was my biggest mistake. I went a little too fast, my rear was off the wall most of the way down and when I grabbed brakes only my front tire stopped and it shot me over the ledge. I free fall about 25 feet and as soon as my ass hit the dirt my instincts kicked in and I dug my feet into the ground to stop. Miraculously I stopped 1 foot from the ledge. God protected me and this was a big wake up call for me. I am blessed to be alive and hope people learn from my mistake.
I posted my fall on Instagram and it's kinda gone viral. I want to thank everyone who reached out to me to make sure Im ok. Although the majority of comments were positive there were some trolls. I know I fucked up, I don't need anyone to tell me what I did wrong, I don't need your tips especially from trolls who have never done this feature. I have hit this feature so many times but one mistake almost cost me my life. Please remember that we take huge risks when we go mountain biking. Please ride safe.
The classic "how's my bike" line while 1 foot away from the cliff. Good thing your ok. Looks like your not the only one to go over that berm. Maybe everyone gets together to work on making that berm safer
Yeah that berm has actually been built up this year. It was actually way worse before. But yeah maybe after next rain
@@TommyHuynh the problem is that, that berm is too close to the bottom. There's no time to slow down before that turn. Hopefully you heal fast
Installing a fence with padding would probably be a smart idea prevent people from falling 25 feet or even 75 feet if you are unlucky.

Dang I would not walk away from that. I was reading the description and I felt the same way about watching crash footage too soon. I broke my arm in a few places a month ago on telonics.. hope you have a full recovery

All glory to God. I am blessed to be alive. It was probably smarter for me to walk after the crash 😂 the guys camera we found is fine he crashed further up and his camera rolled down to where I was 🙏
Tommy, I am sooooo glad you are still with us. God protected you indeed. I'm with you on this one. I have gone through the same shit. The day I got too confident, that was the day I crashed. It sucks! God loves you dearly. I hope you recover soon. What you guys do is FREE RIDE stuff. The knurliest and craziest. It takes guts to do features like that and I admire your courage. @hanaknamp yeah I had to get down and honestly I shouldn't have attempted to ride down it but some of those sections are so steep that walking down is actually harder.

All things considered, I'd say you positioned yourself very well midair on time avoiding a massive nose dive and possibly a 10x worse crash. Have a quick recovery!

It sucks how badly cameras in general FAIL to show just how steep these hills are, and its that way in most mtb videos. But when you guys were dragging that bike back up to the trail, I could definitely tell. You guys are beasts!

Nice crash.
My second worst crash had me pissing blood for a week. Went to ED, and got gastro and a wicked throat infection. And all just before Xmas. Xmas day i lost my voice from the throat infection, couldnt leave the toilet for more than 15 minutes because of the squirts, and i was pissing red.
Yeah mine was not that dark and now it's already clear

You got extremely lucky. I’ve went down cliffs & you have know idea where you are going land I landed in a bunch of ivy & had to crawl back p to the trail with my bike. A different time I was flying down Romero Canyon in SB & my pedal clipped a embedded rock & bent my crank & threw me into a bush & out the other side & the trail was right on a huge canyon drop. I landed eventually on another bush that stopped me. Eventually we won’t be as lucky so thank God & & basically getting lucky.

Yeah it was scary, I still have pain when pressure on it but my piss is clear now so that's a good sign 💪
@@TommyHuynh A kidney injury can cause blood in the urine too which can make it anything from bright red to purple depending on the amount of blood. A rare complication of kidney injury is page kidney - which would cause long term high blood pressure. If you haven’t had a blood test or imaging that proved a liver injury, keep the kidney in mind too.

Glad you are OK. Great group of guys to help you out there. Consider going with body armor. With more birthdays comes more time to heal after an incident. Body armor helps you to get back on the trail sooner.

That probably ended the best way it could've. Glad you didn't go down forwards, that way you probably would've been sliding alot further, maybe even falling down the second cliff.
