Nice little project Darren mate. Something I’ve never tried, so I feel inspired to have a go. Cheers mate.

Good to hear from you Brian, yeah same here I tried a smaller one years ago when I first got in to woodworking but they are pretty cool and you can make some complex ones, gonna make a bigger one in the future, hope your well.

Really nice piece of work, and you have broken down the process really well. Might look at my scrap box totally differently. Thanks , it must have taken a fair bit of time to make.

Thanks man yeah it turned it pretty nice. It is a fairly straightforward process when you know the cuts you need to make but not long other than waiting for glue to dry a few hours work. I done it over a few days as I had other things on the go but yeah you can always turn scrap into special lol good luck with yours, they really can be anything you want, it’s just down to the wood you have. I was thinking of making a guitar shaped one, your imagination is the limit lol.

I like it! I have yet to try one of these; the tight bandsaw turns are holding me back. What sized bandsaw blade are you using?

Yeah it does take a bit of practice with the turns, just practice on some scrap wood with various turns and of course a new blade always helps, I used a 1/4 6mm for the cuts but you could do it with a 10mm as well. Just throw yourself into it and youll learn just how to do it, start with a soft wood and am sure you’ll get the hang of it.

@@Darren_Barclay that’s a serious bit of kit compared to my Screwfix Titan lol - different league!

@@woodandfood yeah definitely but listen you can still make bandsaw boxes with your small bandsaw, just take it easy with the turns, not so tight. I used the screw fix draper one for a year and made a few so it’s possible. If you look back on my videos you’ll see me using it, that was before I extended my workshop. Shame I can’t share pics here to show you the ones I made on the same machine you’ve got, just make sure your blade is new and have it as tight as it’ll go. Until it makes a high pitch twang lol that’s how I set them.
