In my search for a partner to deliver my smart home I have spoken to several that have tried to move from being an electrician to delivering such projects and found quite a few that had felt the pain points that you discuss. I was an HA hobby user previously but based on my own pain wanted to work with a strong partner on my own project. Coming from an IT background I know these projects need a variety of skills, my role has been to understand the business need and translate that to an overall technical solution but I relied on a strong technical team to deliver that vision. We all have different skills and having the combination of basic electrical skill, programming and the ability to engage and manage a project well with the end client is a big ask from an independent trader. I have spoken to some installers who partner these skills (one strong on the install and the other on the software side) together that can make a real strong team. I really like what you are trying to do and I hope it opens up this market for all.
Great comment… there are plenty of techy people in the industry but not so many good sales, marketing & biz dev people. Huge opportunities for people with opposing skill sets to partner up in these industries 🙂👍🏼
Big fan of your business. Regret not going into industrial controls & BMS in my early days. Got stuck within M&E installations 😮💨
It's pretty straight forward for someone like yourself with M&E installation experience to build on that and learn controls to get into industrial and BMS
Is it to the regulations to put wago topjobs for controls? I’m tempted to put them in to each light switch and light but not sure if it’s going to be to the regs.
