What dilution of isopropyl alcohol do you use?
When do you oil your lock's? Every 40 hours?
Thank you for a great video I have a question? What other cleaning solution could I use we don’t have the product that you used
isopropanol = isopropylalcohol = 2-propanol = propan-2-ol, also known as carburetor alcohol. Use it myself, very efficient.
2 questions: 1) Do I need to lubricate anything on the wheel especially the old coal burning locomotive? 2) What about track that is 50 years old and has some rust on it and is sort of dry?

How about an old ac marklin train with a wheel that can turn a little independently? It can also pop out very easily. The train turns a little but then stops. Hope you can help
dred007papa Hard to say really.. Bring the train to a Märklin dealer. They will be able to say what the problem is. If you have no dealer.. Köp K-sprit. Det är i princip 100% Isopropanol (tillsatsmedel i bensin som förhindrar kondensation i tanken) Finns på Biltema, Jula, Clas Ohlson och de flesta bensinmackar. Lycka till!

Hej jag har ett analogt 3048 ånglok som låter ganska högt om motor eller kugghjul. Och jag vet inte om det är något fel eller om det är så original. Men om du vet något som går att ändra med loket för att det ska gå tystare så skulle jag verkligen uppskatta detta. Jag vet inte om det är att den behöver olja eller inte då det inte är ett gnisslande ljud utan mer ett snabbt klickande ljud.

Could you help me, please? I bought AC marklin loc, trafo, rails, connect rails to trafo output B and 0, but loc moving backward. If I change 0 and B change nothing, loc moving backward.
Had the same issue. The trafo was not putting out the proper power. Took it to the Local Hobby Shop and confirmed. Replaced the trafo and all works as it should.

i was originally told to clean with metho (methylated spirits, ethanol with smelly stuff that makes you vomit so people won't drink).
is metho ok? or you'd recommend isopropyl alcohol (70%)

I have a marklin transformer # 37547A . I can only turn it counter clockwise to zero . I see in videos where it can be turned further left to the arrows for reverse . Do i have a degective transformer /variant ? George

+marklinofsweden yes i have, sadly enough it does not run well at all, it jumps around the layout like nothing else. This is a trix converted, i am thinking about replacing the motor. I have had no fun with that loco at all, just headace :(

+TALKING DONKEY Kör först motorrengöringen enligt videon.. Häll sedan upp Isopropanol i en plastbytta, så pass att den når strax över hjulaxlarna när du ställer ner loket i vätskan. Kolla så inga plastdelar (kåpan eller detaljer av plast) hamnar i spriten. Låt stå några timmar. Börja jucka hjulen fram och tillbaka. Upprepa spritbehandlingen vid behov. Ny olja i hjulaxlar och kuggaxlar kan också hjälpa till att lösa upp den härdade oljan. Et annat sätt är att ställa ner chassit i en ultraljudstvätt, men det är ju inte så ofta man har hemma..

You did nit cover the maintenance of the pickup other than the slider. Does this mean they are maintenance free?
Slider is wiping itself clean against thr center studs in the track. However, in some cases, if you have painted or glued plastic parts in those positions, then the paint and glue can get stuck on the slider.
@@marklinofsweden Thank you. However how do I access the pick ups on the wheels of the loco to clean them of oil build up etc as it seems there is a pc board in the way that I cannot seem to move aside

I don't like Marklin used the four tyre. running on the track easily dirty, and cleaned brushed very dirty.Every month cleaning the parts so troubled. 06.05.2021
