- It was low IFR everywhere, so we picked up an IFR clearance on the ground and shot the RNAV approach on some new software, but we just had to make it to the air races.

Red Bull Air Race-- yeah! my brother Mike Mangold was the first 2 time World Champion in 2005 and 2007. Yes he went on to win at Reno Air Races Jet Class as well!

Nice episode, good seeing Owen back in the Bonanza. I recently saw him on a different channel when he and 4 other guys chipped in to own a Citation 501, and flew it home.
Watching your videos has really helped me understand the value of those planes. Range and useful load are incredible.

Owen is everywhere!!!!! I'm going to design an Owen doll, and sell it as a flying companion. Including a voice box that communicates with ATC. Pilots can take selfies with the "Owen International Travel Companion Doll" all over the world.

We were there in Indy also. Can't remember the name of the restaurant just across the street from Eagle Creek but it is a good place to eat right on the lake. Sad the Red Bull Air Races are no more.
I have a "Red Bull" Race hat and that's about as close as I'll ever get .... Darn😢... be great if we had mini "Red Bull" type races all across the U.S...... Off season at RENO's Stead might be one option🤔.
Really enjoying your videos. Great flying and radio work (despite looking like you're a 16 y.o. kid - LOL). I flew a Honda Jet for the last year, but I still struggle with understanding ATC sometimes...

Crazy ness you are flying above a fella i watch on youtube at de calb and a friend who is retired near there, Nice to see the Bonaza. You cant fit 3-4 people in the Jet.

Cat III auto land in 767 will fly it to touchdown. It would be cool if your auto pilot did, but I’m not sure it would. Tell us if it does, if you can “auto land”😉. Dave, Eric and Val’s friend.

no. it will fly the approach, but can't do the landing.
I didn't realize cellphones work....so is it because your at lower altitude then commercial jets?

Man this really makes me re-think getting my PPL.. All the talking with ATF really kills the convivence for me... such a headache.. I understand its IFR but still

to be fair he didn't crash that plane, so there's that . . . and that was so two years ago.

@@robertd7073 Matt responded with a general denial. said it was BS, but he never dug into the specifics of Dans accusations that i recall. Dan kinda dropped it too, so I'm not really sure what to make of it.
L39 is cool, but I can't get enough of watching you grease the landings. I like the bonanza videos better.
