Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press. This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.

@@CollinsFamilyAdventures Thank you! I should have been more specific with my question though…… what is the height of just the grill with the lid closed (not including the stand)? Thanks!
It actually does fairly well. I personally think that it minimizes smoke compared to cooking on a skillet.. that might be simply because the griddle doesn't get as hot as you could get a skillet. But I really do enjoy cooking breakfast on the griddle.
Am i doing something wrong? My griddle loses a lot of heat when i put anything on it. And it takes for ever to reach cooking temperature. It does it all the time. Can someone tell me if i am doing something wrong.
What's your starting temp.. Is item your cooking frozen?. Are you fully loading the griddle? Are you setting both zones exactly the same temp? Mine do tend to lose heat, but depending on what I'm cooking, i usually can maintain..
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures usually I try to cook meats at room temperature. I find super cold meat drops it a lot. I also try to have both sides the same temp.
I always cook food at room temperature, never have a problem with temperature going down. Yes, putting cold food will definitely do that, and you sacrifice flavor and texture when you do. It doesn't take much time to let your food get to room temp to achieve food nirvana
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures 😂The crazy thing is, before I watched your video I was saying it the other day while cooking. I thought I was the only guy who knew the reference.
Awesome, but all I can think of is all that grease splatter all over the kitchen and the smell all in the house. It's messy cooking on the stove as is. I have the gas 17 and 22 and I love them. This electric one seems awesome also but I don't think I would use it indoors to cook food that splatters or smelly. If I can set it on the stove and limit the splatters and use the vent then I may consider it.
I totally understand what you're saying, to be 100% honest with you the splattering is not really an issue with me as the walls and the lids seem to help that.. The steam and smell is something that can't be controlled.. We use our Hood vent in our Kitchen.. Sometimes we'll even wheel it next to a window if we're cooking bacon and such..
I have two Blackstones. The 36" propane outside and just got the 22" e series. I go the e series because I love the big griddle outside. Yes keeps all the smells and smoke outside! that's what I wanted. It's amazing!! I got the 22 in for when the weather was bad or just want a quick small cook. The big griddle has a cover and to take it off for a quick meal for one is an overkill. Now the 22" inside. Very convenient. But nowhere near as powerful or as fast as the propane griddle. It's electric folks. Still a great griddle! Its a trade off. Way better than those old pancake griddles I think we all have had! It does split the amperage across both burners to keep the power draw down. I can see where two 17'' on different circuits would be better and hotter but I have the 36" outside. So the tradeoff is still ok. I would rather lose a little heat on the 22" and have more room for food and less splatter coming off the larger 22" griddle indoors. Just takes a little longer to cook. Yes you are inside and will have the smells just like your stove would produce. But on the stand you can move it around. If its a small cook and you still don't want to uncover the big propane griddle, the e series has feet and you could take it outside. But it's not really made to stay out there. But the Adventure Series propane two burner is a great option for a quick smaller griddle outside. It most likely will be my next griddle. Now the true size of the 22". I have a normal sized kitchen with standard sized cabinets and cabinet heights and counter depths. The microwave is above the stove too. The 22" and probably the 17" also since it has the same depth just not as wide, DO NOT fit on my counters where there are cabinets or the microwave and allow the lid to fully open and stay open. So the stand is needed. I don't really like the stand but the pans on the bottom are awesome. For me on the kitchen table is fine. If you have an Island with a power outlet or counter that is a peninsula PERFECT!!! I don't have the room in the kitchen to leave it on the stand. At least anywhere I like. It fits in the pantry on the shelf so for now I'll take it out and use it on the table. Would I buy the e series again. yes, it has a place in your cooking arsenal. But not a one griddle do all. Super easy to take to a friends house or church or wherever to cook indoors. I participated in a pancake breakfast at my daughters school when she was young and wish we had these back then. I had the old timey little black griddle then. :)
Is it weather rated? Can you leave it outside on the porch? Also, the website doesn't say how much it weighs. Think you could throw it on a scale for us? Just the unit, not the stand, obviously.
I don't think so since its electrical.. But if BS makes a heavy duty cloth cover, then I would say yes.. The griddle alone without the stand is about 27 pounds from my measuring device..
When putting it together did you verify nothing got in between the unit and the griddle.. I don't remember any weird noises or smells.. might want to call tech support on that issue.. Would hate for something to go south on you..
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures I see that because I cook on my normal blackstone in the winter time in my garage. Making burgers in there there’s so much smoke I can barely stand it
My biggest issue when it comes to smoke is the condensation it builds on the lid and has nowhere to go besides the drip tray which is only about 40% of the lid..
Can the unit be on backwards?. I know when I put it together, I got something on wrong (due to the high quality black and white manual..) The folding tray should be on the right if your in front of it.. If that's correct, may need to reach the out to Blackstone..
It is on there right. We already had to have a whole new one sent due to a missing brass peice in one of the legs that holds the wheel missing. Otherwise we love the grill but the grease pan is annoying.
Dang it Blackstone!! The grill is awesome, sounds like quality control is not so much.. A grease trap that ain't catching the grease is a NO GO for sure.. I hope it's something they can just send you out a new part or such..
Garbage..I have the 22" version.. After using the griddle for 3 heavy cooks (about 10 steaks each cookout).. The griddle shuts down by itself every 5 minutes after about 5 to 10 minutes of cook time....These are total garbage.. I can do better with a cheap countertop electric skillet..
If you're going to do grilling burgers on a griddle electric what's the point to spending so much money on it when you can just do it on a cooking pan on the stove,,. It doesn't make any sense

@@CollinsFamilyAdventures Great thanks. I thought it would splatter all over the place when cooking burgers or steak..
With the sides of the Blackstone griddle, the splatter is kept down to a minimal amount to nothing at all from what I've observed so far..
How does bacon do on this grill?
It actually does fairly well. I personally think that it minimizes smoke compared to cooking on a skillet.. that might be simply because the griddle doesn't get as hot as you could get a skillet. But I really do enjoy cooking breakfast on the griddle.
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures thank you for your reply. I’m Thinking about buying one. ♥️
Good catch.
they have grease trap screen so you dont loose food to the trap
I always heat it to a higher starting temperature initially. When the food is placed on it, the temperature lowers to about where I need it to be.
Is this non stick? 😮
Yes indeed..
It’s like induction cooktop 5:23

SPATULA CITY!!!
I swear UHF had it all.
Such a classic for sure..
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures 😂The crazy thing is, before I watched your video I was saying it the other day while cooking. I thought I was the only guy who knew the reference.
Where did you get it from?
Walmart.com
I like spatulas so much, I bought the company. Lol
So awesome!!
Any update?
Will update in my next video as requested to try frozen hamburgers..
Is it smoke free/ or less
Unfortunately no, but I cook next to my hooded vent and haven't had to turn it on yet.. So not bad in my opinion..
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures They should include that option cause the cheaper indoor grills provide that.
Does this surface need seasoned?
Nope..
Very nice comment.. Thank you .. Very well said..
I'd love to get an honest review if you would.
I know exactly what Spatula City is!!! MAHARUSHIE!!!! (SP?)
When I plugged the unit up it started making a popping noise as it was heating. It also had a funny smell. Is it supposed to do that?
When putting it together did you verify nothing got in between the unit and the griddle.. I don't remember any weird noises or smells.. might want to call tech support on that issue.. Would hate for something to go south on you..
Spatula City, we sell spatulas... and that's all!
👀🤨 On my WishList
It’s cool but I feel it would smoke your house out
I use it by my hood vent, but never had to turn it on yet..
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures all in all I do like it. Especially the non stick cooking surface
The surface is hands down the best.. Especially cleaning and not having to season..
Butter burns at 365.
like the free floating.. something u dont pay for lol😹
My drip 0an falls off when it's on the stand
Well that's no good.. I don't have that problem on mine, can you see why is getting lifted up?.
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures it hits the cart edge. It's like there should be a lower section right there but there's not
Can the unit be on backwards?.

Guy cooks 40 times and thinks it's a lot hahaha. That's like 13 days, mate
Greased floor 🤣
Be honest with you I haven't had any issues with a greased floor, even after cooking 3 lb of bacon..
Shoes on carpet yuck
If you're going to do grilling burgers on a griddle electric what's the point to spending so much money on it when you can just do it on a cooking pan on the stove,,. It doesn't make any sense
Probably why people buy smart watches when phones and regular ones do the job. Cause they want to.
Hahaha ,,, he got butt hurt. Poor baby 😂🍼. Take a nap hugging your little electric griddle it probably make you feel better. Hahaha 😂😂
@@marine3104 funny you assume I have one I don’t. Could careless what some jarhead got to say. Was merely supplying a answer to your question. Cast iorn Skillet Burgers would taste better.
@@kylewatts9187 that they do
Very cheap looking.
I would say the cart yes.. Not a fan of the way they mixed metal with plastics.. As fair as the unit, it's solid in my opinion.. Doesn' t feel cheap in the hands like most of the consumer grade griddles on the market.. I had actually damaged my propane 22in adventure unit faster than these E-Series units.. In fact the only issue I have on both of my E-Series griddles is the center of the cooking surface discoloring.. I have had these units for years and am still satisfied with the purchases..
UHF ist spatula City ❤️❤️❤️
