  • When it comes to suction gates for wake surfing, Swell has been one of our favorites. It's compact and built like a tank. We got contacted by Swell and they asked us to try out their new design, the Swell Wakesurf Creator H3X. I didn't know they had a new design. I didn't research anything prior as I wanted to experience of seeing it new. We took our 2008 Malibu VLX out to Pine Flat to try it out. In this video we show you different setting and some of our honest impressions. They didn't pay us any money for this, it's an honest review. Anyone with a wakeboard boat or ski boat prior to surf systems should give this a look. I've got a couple buddies with G23s and newer boats with non-gate surf systems that we are going to try it out on it later. If you like this video, please subscribe. We do a variety of things, but boats and lakes are a major part of our CZcams page.

    “Bigger isn’t better “. I built several suckgates and found the same. The only Thing they need to change is the colour. They need high vis colours for the rare time they pop off. The lanyard snaps. Great review brother

    Good review. Not a lot of BS, but simply showing you how you use yours. Thanks

    All in all for a boat like yours did you notice a discernable difference with the H3X Plus compared to the Creator 2.0? Given the higher price would you recommend it over the creator 2.0?

    Have you ever tried two shapers, one in back and one in the middle/front (just saw surfmode system for the first time and it looked interesting)?

    Could you tell me your best set up on your 08 VLX please? I have this wakeshaper. Thanks, great video!

    I like that it spins a bit, so you can adjust the face if you don't get the gate lined up just right. I made my own suck gate, but it's a pain to get the suction cups to stick. Is this one fairly easy to put on?

      I built my own as well and I was wondering what kind of suction cup you use because I’ve been using mine for a couple weeks and it still has never popped off the boat.

    Hi guys, asking as a noob, if you want to surf the left side of the boat you need to put the wakeshaper on the right?

    • @colinlogan1229
      @colinlogan1229 Před 4 lety

      Yes If you want to surf on the left put the wakeshaper on the right. If you want to surf on the right then put the shaper on the left

      @@colinlogan1229 thx man, also is it possible to wakesurf on an old boat without ballast bags? lets say just 3-4 people on the boat

    • @colinlogan1229
      @colinlogan1229 Před 3 lety

      @@alejandroromo6577 depends of the weight of the boat. Usually you will need to add some extra ballast but it depends. I would say if your boat is 5,000+ pounds you wouldn’t need to add much more but if it’s less then you might want to add some extra weight

    I have a 2008 supra gravity games edition. It doesn’t have a wedge. Will this still work? Don’t want to surf with a rope.

    • @aviralchauhan1161
      @aviralchauhan1161 Před 4 lety

      I have a 93 Malibu skier with no wedge and I made a wakeshaper for $30 and it works really well so I’m guessing your Supra will work with this surf gate well too. If you have any questions you could try to build one yourself and test it out before you drop $200 on this product

    Hey Btuff are you still running the same ballast setup as in one of your previous videos? Would you recommend buying the tunable swell?

    • @btuff
      @btuff  Před 4 lety +1

      The new Swell is better than the old version because it’s more adjustable for different size boats.

    • @btuff
      @btuff  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes same. I ran more conservative this weekend but my go to is 800 in front, 900 lr 700 rr, 400 locker wedge down
