- Culture shocks can be confusing and frustrating. These are some things that confused me when I first moved to Vietnam. With this video, I hope that Viet Kieus and Expats can have a better understanding of Vietnamese culture.
0:00 Intro
0:22 #1 Commenting on your appearance
01:07 #2 Confusing hand signals
01:44 #3 Accepting Money Gifts
02:28 #4 Talking about Salary
03:20 #5 Splitting the Bill - Zábava
I've noticed commenting on appearances is way more acceptable all over SEA than it is in the west. I know many Filipinos and this is in their culture as well.
Yeah that's true, all of us Asians share this same pain. 😭 Getting called too fat or too dark wherever we go in Asia... 😂😭
The girl is a great actress, you are talented.
Thank you. That's my cousin! 😁
Love your videos!
Ayyy, thanks for the love Teelo! 😊
Dude awesome vids. Keep it up
Thanks so much for watching, Paul! 😁👌
Wow Amayzing MR.Victor
Thank you, Alex! 😁
Man this is great!
The hand signals! ☝️
Bruh, that's what I'm saying...🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Dude great video, had me cracking up.
Thank you man! I'm glad it was able to make you laugh 😁
My girlfriends family moved in with us for the last two years and call me fat everyday, when is it supposed to end?
Mmm... I think it ends when we stop being fat.... but then they will say "You're too skinny!" It never ends... 😭😭😭
And Vietnamese people like to ask about your age and marital status too !
my reposnes to her calling me fat," oh, yeah! well... you look like your father. How about that?
I think this is common in all of East Asia.
I'm glad to see that there are commonalities. 😊
I am here to confirm that #3 is absolutely.......RIGHT 🤣🤣🤣
The skit was based on a true story between my cousin and my friend 😂
@@NhieuLife btw, what is the name of the last song?
@@MiaMia-ft9se it's a great song! 😁

I do get the "Fat & Bald" comment quite a bit
OMG it's Phúc Mập! Don't worry, they mean "fat, bald, and beautiful!" They just leave the "beautiful" part out so it won't go to your head! 😂
@@NhieuLife I’m used to it at this point. But good stuff in the video, I’ve actually been writing a script for a video about the differences between Vietnam and America
@@phucmapvlog Ayy, thanks for the love man. ✊ Excited to see your new vid! Hope to be able to collab with you one day! 🤙
aren't you the best looking foreigner in Ho Chi Minh?
Oof talking about money is such a complicated thing in Vietnam
At the same time, it's also so casual. 😂
Tiếng Anh thì nói "Oh, you didn't have you do that, ☺️ but thank you. 😊" Hoặc là người nhận sẽ bất ngờ rồi nói "Oh my gosh. 😯 Thank you so much! 🥰"
@@NhieuLife thông tin rất hữu ích ạ, em cảm ơn anh nhiều. Thank you so much sir!!
@@linhnguyennhat6101 No problem! 😊
How do people react if you tell them you are a widower or widow?
I'm not sure 🤔 I think people are pretty open about that. If it is not a touchy subject for you, then you could share with that person. Sometimes they will ask further questions about it and sometimes they won't.
:3
why you talk about these haa , why should they have to be shame about asking about your salary , it is a shame that you dont tell , you act like if you tell about your salary , prople will take it away from you haha
Hi friend, thank you for your comment. You're right, there should be no shame in asking. It's just that in America, it's not talked about a lot, so when I first got here, I wasn't used to being asked about it so much. 😂
Yes, she is right, you have put on a lot of weight.
Yeah, you know, it's because of the lockdown... Just been at home. Not doing much... 😂😐😭
