I’ve had a surge clone bibury for a few months now and it’s wearing fast. I’m not going crazy on the tool, but it already feels like what my leathermans feel like after YEARS of use. I’m not a leatherman fanboy, nor am I a steel snob, but the metal used in these Amazon brands are too soft to do any real work with. The flatheads bend like they are barely heat treated.
I’m with you, nextool is doing great stuff but they need a more expensive one where the tools are made of a decent tool steel, we all know they have no shortage of D2. Then make the cutting instruments out of 14c28N or something nice but cheaper.
@@johnshepherd9676 Yeah but you see some of the tools are useful for other kind of users. In my job I do use a lot of the tools from this multitool and there isn't much multitools with such shears except those scissors style ones.
I'm a paramedic, I think this tool is a pass for me. Most of the medics, fire fighters, and nurses I work with don't carry any tools, the maybe 25% that do have raptors or maybe like a pocket knife.
Modern tools have a lot of awesome features, but! I have an original Leatherman Supertool from the 90s. It has never failed me. It's still running strong!
Hi maxlvledc, Amazon has the nextorch pioneer listed for $125!! I stumbled across your channel, so, I’m as neon green as I can get learning about your work!! However, awesome job on the reviews. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!!👍🏿💯
I bought the Wurkkos DL02 thanks to a review of yours and it is absolutely amazing besides it not being able to tail stand. Thinking about getting about to put in my car!
The pioneer looks like a great idea, would be ideal for me if there were a bladeless version. That said the price point for the quality of materials is a no go.
For all its flaws (QC and otherwise) one small thing I appreciate one the Wave (and the Gordon clone; possibly others) which I couldn’t see on the Bibury is a way tell which blade you’re trying to open by feel. The wave/gordon has those little nubbins on back of the serrated blade so you can tell the blades apart.
I'm still super happy with the harbor freight Gordon multi-tool that you recommended and I purchased on your recommendation I haven't seen a need to buy another one it runs so smooth I just put a new edge on the blade I'm completely happy and I've had no problems it's still super smooth thanks again for your video
The scalpel is for potentially small, very precise cuts and when you mess up the scalpel you can just replace it - and maybe you can have differently shaped scalpel blades? like exacto shape etc if that is something important to you, like for precise cuts in model making, so good idea to carry spares/replacements/alternatives if that is actually something relevant to you.
Might have to look into the T-shank scalpel thingy for my dad's DL30. My new baby Flex from the Roxon Tool store on the Ali site finally arrived! Only had it for a few hours, but if anything happened to it ... it'd make me very sad (no mass murder/committing die here).
This tools so good what some people sell it for price same as leatherman on my local marketplace. Like ok, 30$ multitool is 1000 in my currency, but you can't find them at this price. It starts from 3800 to 4500 and now i look for some old ganzo multitool(g104s what i lost) because they now like 500-600 and its fine to me.
having a disposable blade is actually nice i carry a utility knife to use on stuff i wouldn't want to use my good blade on so the scalpel blade for me would be nice limits having the extra tool
Are there any add on pocket clips that you would recommend for the Bibury Surge Clone? Also, any tips on how to unbend pocket clips?

With Letterman's greedflation in the last years these tools have a great chance to get in hands who usually would have bought a 50$ Leatherman. No clue how 3cr14 woks in practice, but a knife can be sharpened and a wire cutter replaced. So will most feel the difference if a multitool does not hold 30 years like my PST (420hc) or say 10 years?
I tried one and had to return it....scissor spring did not reach the base of the cutter and did not work at all...really wanted it to work out...lot of cool features, but that kind of QC put me off...sticking with my old Wave...Jim
I got a Workpro based on the recommendation from this channel, as a backup tool to take to risky places, or leave in places. But... I don't think it's stainless. I was going to leave it on a boat, but thought twice. Also, the saw is almost impossible to get out. It disappears inside the frame. I need another tool to lever it out. Is there a way to fix this?
The Nextorch site doesn't say that Pioneer is 3CR.... "Material: 20Cr13, 30Cr13, YG8 Coating: Blackening and Stone Washing" Also it's a hundo on their site.
A multi tool is a compromise tool as it is! Why compromise on a compromise? Just buy a Leatherman or a Victorinox and be done with it! I mean do you really want to spend $100 USD on an inferior multi tool? 🤷♂️
Nextorch is cool. Not a $100 cool.
agreed. nothing budget about it
Could you make a rundown of all budget and 'clone' multitools you'd recommend? possibly another tier list video? :))
The T shank scalpel holder is brilliant. Because it's designed for delicate detailed work, removing it from the big heavy handle makes perfect sense 👍
That zip tie cutter is 200 iq
Should make a tool with all t shank slots and just load up with whatever you want
Thank you, always enjoy your reviews and content! Thanks again.

The Nextorch tool is aimed at first responders, not the general user.
Agreed, but it's still too expensive for the materials.

If the second one had a bit / t shank holder that tool would be killer.
Modern tools have a lot of awesome features, but!

direct from nextorch is $100. still too much for me to consider it

Sick!

Those Bibury Bit Holders are so nice! So robust. I really like their innovations. That scalpel blade is very well designed, or looks to be at least.

🎉🎉🎉 Great Tools 🎉

I think Flissa makes great multitools that are incredibly low priced. I’m very happy with the two models I have from them.
Good stuff for every day💪😉
The cut out handle scales let in dirt, lint...etc. Sold scales are better.
Might have to look into the T-shank scalpel thingy for my dad's DL30.

The little scree driver on the nextorch comes out someone said they are gonna sell optional tools to pop in
Finally … i left a couple of comments for you on other videos requesting this multitool (pioneer) so thanks
having a disposable blade is actually nice i carry a utility knife to use on stuff i wouldn't want to use my good blade on so the scalpel blade for me would be nice limits having the extra tool
For $100 i would buy a Leatherman.
The bibury pro is almost always on offer in Uk on Amazon for around £35, normally double the price but with 50% discount

Awesome stuff. Will these T-shank tools fit in my Surge?
Yep

Which one? The emergency tool? Or the wave clone?

Be nice if the 31 and 1 had a main blade that came out and had 3 different styles drop point tanto warncliff 🤔
I wish the actual screw driver and belt cutter would have been replaced with a bit driver or a nice philips with a bit adapter and kit.
Just ordered the flissa signal clone from Amazon. Have you seen that yet?
Yep, reviewed it.

the blade and the zip tie cutter blade are from 50CR15Mov
Totally no disrespect intended but you should get regular manicures, I love your work.
Nah

the Bibury tool has a 50% off coupon on Amazon?
Atm yes
Nothing budget anymore from nextool.
A budget is a very personal issue, ofcourse. But nextool pricing out of budget lately.
