    The Bowflex HVT is the best machine from Bowflex we have ever used. After putting it through multiple workouts including ones designed for cardio, strength training, as well as both, we can confidently recommend the HVT to users wanting a versatile piece of equipment that takes up little space.

    My hvt is ready and set up but what you need to know is this is for explosive movement so basically If you want to feel that resistance you got to go fast

    Hook the bottom to handles to a spud belt and you have your belt squat. Turn up the resistance or use it to replicate speed squats

    What would you recommend? HVT or a functional trainer. I have a bow flex max and a half rack. Need best bang for my buck and space. I was looking at the compact Rep Fitness functional trainer.
    Thanks,
    Alex

      Bowlfex revolution is the best piece they ever made. It's basically a better barbell. Positive only resistance is inferior.

    I purchased a max trainer to start to lose the dad bod and trim up a bit but I am now shopping for another piece for muscle building (not necessarily bulk gains/more lean muscle) . Do you think the HVT would complement the MT or would you suggest something more like the BF Xtreme SE , Revolution, bench/dumb bell, etc..? Also, you mentioned that strength can be gained with the HVT, but what would be the "final product" expected from this?

    Is it fair to say that the "feel" of this apparatus is similar to a fanwheel resistance like the c2 rower or an airbike?

    [I also posted this on your blog but maybe someone here has an idea...] Hi! Thanks for this report! I found a lightly used one of these and have been enjoying it for almost a year. But I ran into a glitch that maybe you have also experienced and hopefully easily resolved! I didn't use it for a month and now the resistance settings are very different. They used to change smoothly as I changed the number settings. Now they jump hugely in resistance and are maybe even changing their resistance between uses. Like 6 and 7 change normally then 8 will be very hard. I haven't totally pinpointed what is happening, only that it is messed up now. Is there some maintenance I should do? I glanced at their website and material and don't see anything. I will call their 800# tech supp soon. Thanks if you have an idea about this!

  • @emailjwr

    Cool for a day, but the cost of this unit is nutty. For $300 you an go on craigslist and get a rack, bench, barbell and weights, and be set for years.

    I appreciate your review bit there are soo many Bowflex products that end up on classifieds by the hundreds. I owned a few bowflex products and there build quality is bad. But their marketing is brilliant. I own a lot of home gym equipment such as hoist, powerblock and Ironmaster and the quality is top notch and retains thier resell value unlike bowflex products. Hopefully this bowflex product is different.

    a lesson in momentum ... how to throw the weights. Look up super-slow and HIT (Arthur Jones) (not HIIT) and learn that going slow is harder, and the harder it is, the more it builds muscle. You're supposed to be building strength not demonstrating your skill in throwing weights around

    • @ryanmartin421
      @ryanmartin421 Před 3 lety +1

      So Correct about slow movement with negative resistance. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish. I own the HVT and use it for Cardio based workouts with resistance. When I want to work out for building just muscle I use my Free weights and Bowflex.

      @ions82 Před 2 lety

      @@ryanmartin421 Thank you for weighing in on this. I was thinking about replacing my Bowflex with one of these, but I think I'll just stick with what I've got. I've got other options for cardio. If space were not a limiting factor, I'd probably give this a shot (there's one for sale locally.)
