  • Kota Kinabalu, also known as KK, is home to many night markets, like the night food market shown in this video, located on Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen. This night market is a few minutes away from Celyn Hotel on foot.
People can shop for food and drinks, including seafood and packaged food here. Even though it's crowded, chances are you can still find seats. Note that the food sellers can get quite aggressive. For example, one of the food sellers tried to get my attention by pulling me towards him. That was annoying. I politely turned him down.
I was spoiled with food choices at this market. My friends and I had grilled seafood -- prawns, cuttlefish, and fish. Apart from seafood, we also had a local delicacy called 'Latok' and rice. The cuttlefish was RM70. Overall, all the dishes were excellent.
Note: You might come across child beggars. It might be hard to ignore them as they can be quite persistent. We gave a bit of money to one of the kids. In return, she gave us some snacks. Later, we gave her some food and that made her very happy.
