@@CashMoneyBowTie you just move the files that are inside of it into the zip
It wont let me boot up from the drive
Dude I've been in IT for over a decade and this was by far the easiest walkthrough I have ever followed.
Thanks!
The same man :)
Started the video, got right into it. No jawjackin', no backstory... just clear, easy steps. CZcams needs more like you. Keep this up. Subscribed.
Thank you! I've seen so many people just go on and on for minutes for now reason. I try to get straight to the point. I'm glad someone appreciates it!
Keep making videos like this, you were so concise with your info and sometimes this stuff can get really daunting if you're not super familiar with it. Hopefully I can get back to streaming soon!! Thanks Theo!
You're Welcome!
I’ve been looking for HOURS for a fix and this is exactly what I needed. Quick and to the point, subscribed!
Thank you!
My man, you are the absolute GOAT. I have been stuck trying to install Windows on my new build, and I only had Mac OS on hand. You sir, are a legend.
Thank You!
OMIGAWD! I was trying everything, with no success, and losing sleep and getting crazy trying to create this bootable Windows 10 USB from my Mac to have a way to resurrect my husband's recently demised Lenovo (following the most recent Windows update--Thanks, Microsoft!). Your instructions were VERY clear, easy to follow, and even though I had a bit of a time installing Homebrew (totally on me and my sleep deprivation), I got it to work and created the Windows 10 bootable USB. All thanks to you, Theo! I am subscribing and singing your praises on social media!
Thank you so much!
This is absolutely the greatest tutorial I have ever watched. Thank you a thousand times, I had been trying to install windows for a week.
You're welcome!
After trying and failing with other tutorials, this one was by far the easiest and it worked. Good stuff Theo!
Thank you!
Your a life saver! Just built my first PC after using a Mac for years you made my final step so easy. THANK YOU!
You're Welcome!
When you boot up the custom pc for the first time, do you just have to click the SETUP.EXE files, or was it easy to setup on the custom pc after plugging the usb
it’s funny how this is a 7 minute video compared to all the 15+ minute videos everyone else posts 😂 great explaining, very clear, and this video is the only reason my pc works again! thanks!
You're Welcome!
Hi Theo, I did everything to a tee, but when I tried to install windows on my pc, it says "windows could not collect information for osimage install.wim". What do I do?
Awesome video! I am a software developer and I couldn't find any clear information on how to do this. It saved me a lot of time
Thank you!
Best guide ever, straight to the point and easy to follow!
Thank You!
Idk how the hell you know all of this but you just came in clutch. I appreciate your help bro. Subbed.
Thank You!

Is downloading wimlib and home brew necessary if I have enough space on my usb?
It’s not about space so yes
How can you do the partition on Mac
Like you need to split some for windows and some for Mac so howw will we do that considering I followed all this instructions
how would I use the usb in my UEFI? tried to use it in the advanced options in the failed automatic repair but it doesn't seem to work that way.
5:59 I get:
[ERROR] Can't open "/Volumes/CCOMA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9/sources/install.wim" read-only: No such file or directory
ERROR: Exiting with error code 47:
Failed to open a file.
did you fix it?
@@mastermind5099 i had the same error, the problem was that i put the same sources folder twice, not the usb
Doing everything you did and typing everything in that you typed, all I end up with is "command not found: wimlib". What am I missing here? This seems like it shouldn't be this difficult for me.
Did you make sure homebrew successfully installed wimlib?
@@TheosTechTips how would i do that
@@judekolkana same thing happened here
@@judekolkanaIts cus he didn’t show you how to download homebrew he just told you how so you have to copy the homebrew command and paste it and then type the commands
This is an excellent video! Thank you for the clear and concise instruction. Other bulletin boards were stating software purchase was necessary (to create a bootable disk from a Mac) and your video proves it clearly untrue. My Gigabyte Brix is now a Windows 10 machine and I appreciate the assist. Great job and thanks again!
You're welcome!
Hi! thanks for the tutorial, i manage to install home-brew but i'm having a problem with the installation of wimlib. when i write the command "brew install wimlib" the terminal says that such a command not found. Help please! thank you so much
you have to follow the steps after the homebrew installation command is executed it was “x” something and then you just follow the instructions on the terminal
I can’t get past the homebrew step when I run the command in terminal I get an error
Me too. Did you figure it out?
THANKS BUT TELL ME HOW TO FUCKING DESLECT HOLY SHIT
Hold command and click on the file you want to deselect
Hi thank you so much I just built my new pc and had no idea what to do and nothing online helped except this video. You are doing great keep up with the channel u have a bright future ahead of u!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much! I've looked at a lot of guides and yours is the only one that worked.
You're welcome!
I want to earnestly thank you! this is the one solution that worked for me when all other solutions had issues and errors.
No problem. Glad it worked!
hey awesome video!! i just wondered how do i boot now with the usb?
i put it in the macbook and startet it with fn+control+option+command+power but i dont see the windows stick or some other medium?
hey um i did all the steps and have it on a seperate disk all the files but when i hold option it doesnt show up??
It needs a password on terminal when i paste it in? And i cant write the password can you please help
Great job, man! This was really useful info. I had trouble burning an image to a DVD with the newer Mac OS X updates and found this was the best way. Thanks!
You're welcome!
This legitimately was the push I needed to finally install homebrew lol, seeing a kid use it. I'm still new to Mac/Unix, thanks for the tech tips
You're Welcome!
everything on ur video worked, but what do i do next how do i open it?
I did everything right but for some reason after terminal splitting the file it just downloaded as one is that normal?
Perfect instructions my dude. Thank you!
Thank You!
Had to restore windows on my gaming pc. I've never used MAC, and you did an excellent job explaining. Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Short simple to the point no confusion...this is what you call a tutorial😌...thanks
You're Welcome!
Mine says 1 of 1 what did I do wrong when splitting
winlib didn't install so what top do now..says it not there.. ?
My man you did the job. Thank you! Keep it with good and simple work!
Thank you!
super easy to follow, thanks
Usually i dont really comment on videos, but this one helped me so much that i had to comment on it. Thank you!!!
Hi there,
After installing the wimlib and then trying to split the file, I get this error:
Failed to open "/Volumes/CCCOMA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9/sources/install.swm" for writing: Read-only file system.
What do I do?
Regards
superuser.com/questions/146045/how-to-write-to-a-mac-osx-read-only-filesystem
i got error when splittng .says it contains solid resources is not supported
How Long Does It Take To Download All The Other Files??
ms dos fat doesnt appear its only apfs?
Amazing video! Straight, to-the-point, and works well.
Thank You!
is there any reason it says checking for sudo password at all, im not sure what it means and its really frustrating
It means enter your normal password. Sudo is usually for programs that need extra privileges.
Quick question, if i have a usb that has 32gb, on that last file could i just drag it and download it and not have to do all the extra stuff you had to do to try and break it down, Correct?
No, you still have to split it because the formatting only allow for 4gb.
1:32
Under disk utility
The “Format: Ms-DOS (FAT)” option isn’t available on my Mac. I only see APFS (encrypted, case-sensitive, etc).
How do I get through here?
Hmmm. Are you sure the USB is selected?
Thanks for the tutorial! It was very easy and straightforward. Keep up the good work!👍
Thank you!
When I Try To Do The Spit Its Saying its A Directory?
you're brilliant! thank you so much this just saved me like you wouldn't believe
You're Welcome!
Downloaded windows 10 iso 32 bit multi version on my MacBook Air but was wondering why the install.wim is only 3.7gb do I still have to split this file to make a bootable usb. Thanks
Because you downloaded the 32 bit version instead of the 64 bit version. If you can fit it in the USB without it giving an error, you should be fine.
would it be the same to copy the whole sources folder and then just remove unwanted file?
No, because it wouldn't let you copy the sources folder because FAT has a limit of 5 gigs. That file is necessary for the USB to work.
Thank you very much for this tutorial. Very easy to follow, everything clearly explained. Thanks
You're Welcome!
Worked like a charm. It's funny, with all of the different apps out there, the only thing that works is command line. Thank you for the guide! You saved my sanity.
You're welcome!
thank you so much bro! such an easy walk through, subscribed straight away!!
Thank you!
I tried 3 different methods before yours and all failed! Kudos to you! Thanks a lot for making such useful video.
You're Welcome!
THKS Theo, I tried many other things, but your video helped a lot
You're Welcome!
I successfully completed this earlier. Worked well. Thank you!
You're Welcome!
my install file isn't a Wim its a esd, any advice on dealing with that?
Where did you get that ISO?
My computer can’t move the files because when I do it just kernel panicked when I tried to move the files I would appreciate help 😊
I've tried this on a MacBook Pro M1 with Windows 11 (ARM) and it doesn't work, any suggest?
Thanks for the help. This is the best tutorial I’ve seen!
Thank You!
bro if i can fit the win file in my usb, Do i need to download homebrew and split it in two??
Yes. FAT only supports 4gb. You can try using ExFat, but I haven't tested it.
homebrew has errors - something about my user doesn't have permission to the directories? So I can't install Wimlib. So now what?
If I understand this correctly, you can plug in the boot flash drive that is created and the Mac software will read it? I have a Mac pro a1186 emc 2113 that is 2.66ghz. it is a model from 2006.
You need to open the macOS boot menu and boot from it that way.
double clicking did not mount it not sure how to get to those individual files... any advice?
Try right clicking and hover over "Open With" and see if Disk Image Mounter is there. If it is, click on that.
when i try to open the iso it says that it cant pe opened why and what do i do
Try re-downloading the ISO or use a third-party program. Follow these steps: www.makeuseof.com/how-to-mount-iso-files-on-mac/
How am I to go about with the pre split? Copy it to sources on my USB?
Once you split the file and the two halves are in the sources folder you are good to go.
Theo, I really appreciate this video. It helped me so much
Thank you!
Thank you so much this video was incredibly clear!! Thanks for the link
You're Welcome!
Thank you so much my pc needed a flash drive with windows and I’m gonna go try this tomorrow and see if it works
Do you know how to uninstall homebrew and wimlib after you are all done?
Yes, run the command 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘸 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘮𝘭𝘪𝘣 and /𝘣𝘪𝘯/𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘩 -𝘤 "$(𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘭 -𝘧𝘴𝘚𝘓 𝘩𝘵𝘵𝘱𝘴://𝘳𝘢𝘸.𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵.𝘤𝘰𝘮/𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘸/𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭/𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳/𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭.𝘴𝘩)"
Currently having issue when I run the brew install wimlib. It does through all the installing process then get stuck at a point where it just says ==> make. When I click the button to close terminal it says closing terminal will terminate the running process ruby(4), clang(6), make(2), sh.
Try uninstalling homebrew, re-install and run the command again. It might take some time to install.
hi, is this possible on el capitan? it’s an old mac since i may or may not have messed up my laptop’s install.. 😅
Maybe, I haven't tried it yet!
Works like a charm
How do I not copy the sources folder? How do I de select it?
Hold command and click on the folder.
When I type in ‘brew install wimlib’ it says command not found? What am I doing wrong?
first install brew
Hi, I can't install the Brew app because I have and outdated Mac OS. There's another option?, any ideas?
You can use MacPorts.
Dude you're literally so underrated and especially at such a young age. Don't give up. You just earned a sub
Thank you!
Hey my MacBook is too old to install brew. Can you help how to install wimlib without it
You can use MacPorts to install wimlib as well.
Awesome Kid, great work. Keep doing stuffs like that
Thanks!
Explained it perfectly thanks so much
You're Welcome!
Winlib-imagex command not found
Do I need to split the wim file if my usb is big enough to hold it
Yes. FAT only allows 4gb.
Really great tutorial showing all the steps needed to create the windows bootable usb.
Thank you!
Thanks Theodore, lots of help!!!
You're welcome!
Read-only file system
ERROR: Exiting with error code 47
at the end of splitting I have this Im blocked ??
ok, but why do you have a jetbrains ide and vs code in the taskbar?
Because I have the community version of IntelliJ which only lets you use java and a handful of other languages. Because VSCode sucks for Java, I use IntelliJ for Java and then for Python, Javascript, etc. I use VSCode.
My pc says No Operating System found. Any tips?
Very good and simple video. Keep up the efforts!
Thank You!
Thank you so much, it was very helpful!
You're Welcome!
when insert the usb into my non mac what driver do i open?
You have to boot into the USB. This depends on your motherboard, but usually you restart your computer and push a series of keys to load your BIOS. You can then boot from the USB (depends on your motherboard's instructions).
I can’t get my .iso file to mount by double clicking it, don’t know what I’m doing wrong
This was BY FAR the easiest video to follow, I don’t know much about computers but he couldn’t have made this any simpler, thanks!
