Is a 2022 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack the BEST muscle car with a 6-speed manual?
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 6. 07. 2024
- The Muscle Car days are coming to an end once again. Dodge is still bringing the Hemi MOPAR power though. On the outside of this Challenger Scat Pack is the color know as Frostbite, 20in wheels, 6-piston Brembo brakes, and functional hood scoop. On the inside you will find an 8.4in infotainment system, and cloth interior. Under the hood is a 6.4L V8 pumping out 485HP & mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual. Is a 2022 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack the BEST muscle car with a 6-speed manual instead of a Chevrolet Camaro SS or Ford Mustang GT?

As a proud Dodge Challenger owner, I can tell you that those people who drive Challengers/Chargers, Mustangs and Camaros are very unique people. Because when it comes to our cars, Visibility Sucks, reliability questionable, fuel economy đ€Ł, but we do drive a historical cars and we do see each other on a road and appreciate each other for keeping historical cars going well into the future #Ford Mach-E is NOT a Mustang.
Amen!!!!
I've driven and sold all 3. Visibility in the mustang is great. Camaros and challengers have terrible visibility. MachE is the future no way around it. It's as fast as any of the 3 other cars. Ford sells it and can call it whatever they choose. Whether yall like it OR not? Yall talking about it is what Ford wanted and that's what they gotđ€Ł
Lol itâs just a car brah, ainât shut unique bout yâall
@@trspratlen - Calling the Mach E a mustang is a joke. Anyone with a brain đ§ can look at it and tell itâs not. Ford used the mustang name on the Mach E to sell a few cars. They didnât have to do that because the Mach E is an excellent SUV. It wouldâve sold regardless. You can continue to get angry at people for stating the obvious but it wonât change the ridiculousness of calling this electric 4 door SUV a mustang. Chevy had the decency of calling theirs a Blazer.
Very uniqueđ€Ł Nope. Just a bunch of douche bags.
I can't even be mad that they've barely changed the Challenger's exterior when it looks that damn good
I own a Scat Pack Widebody manual myself, and I still love every second with it. I never had a car that delivered more emotions and passion both feom the outside as well as driving it. I am happy to have gotten one of these, while they still make them.
Yes, other cars might have a better power-to-weight ratio and be faster. You know what? Who cares? Nothing looks, sounds and drives as special as this machine.
THANK YOU, DODGE!
Buying one new this year before there gone.đ
Was just looking at a manual wide body, that 6 speed sounds fun
I have 1 too I love my car
They are real mean machines. I love it.

Joe, youâre killing me man! Iâm literally trying to talk myself out of Challenger ScatPack Widebody with the manual in Frostbite and here you come with a video.
Gotta remind myself how much I love my Ram and how useful it is for the runs to the home store. đ

As an owner, my advice is don't drive it or you'll be hooked. its truly a special car, especially with the stick!

Stay away from it or you will buy it. If you do want one time is running out. Good luck
Frostbite is a very nice shade of blue

Great Job Joe. I picked up mine on Tuesday. Ordered straight from the factory. Waited 3 months. Itâs a indigo blue challenger Scatpack Widebody shaker Manual. Sunroof leather interior and all the pkgs. 64 k total. I am loving it. Thank you for all your informative information. Itâs how I decided to go for it. Sold my 2018 Camaro, was not a fan.

Hey Joe, great video. I donât know if you heard but thereâs rumors per MotorTrend that Dodge is coming out with a new generation of Challengers and Charger that will have V8s, even though they said they were dumping them a year ago. Hope thatâs true because thatâs the greatest news Iâve heard!

My 18 GT Mustang 6spd redlines at 7500 this challenger redlines at 6000. I love mine and the mods I have done so far have really opened it up.
i've always been a 'ford guy', but also loved every car built in 1969...never really had a 'new' dream car till I got my 06 mustang gt- a lowly base GT stick, only option was leather wheel/shifter...still love that car as much as the day I finally picked it up- after a 5 month wait, a priority 1 DORA with my name on it from a sympathetic VP, then the hauler dropped a ramp on it at delivery, then a second priority 1 DORA ('regional' name though) and another month wait, signed the papers even before turning the key/testdriving finally...love that car. still have a 69fastback in pcs (tore apart in 1984), too many kids/not enough seats- fixed by wife getting a 07 mustang...combined mileage sucks caravanning, but its fun- we took the pair on a 5800 mile road trip out west, best vacation ever- two oldest sons got to drive some of the prettiest roads in America too...things you'll remember forever...a cool car/nice roads...perfect.
stayed up to watch the speed channel 2010 'reveal' at midnite- hoping not to fall in love with the new hyped up mustang- they promised more old school styling/etc...I woulda been torn about getting one as woulda prob meant trading in the 06... exact opposite happened: I absolutely hated the 2010... felt like it was 69/70 again and the last of the pretty ones were going away...but they had employee pricing on fords at the time- 8:00 next morning called dealer to order another mustang- but a 2009. loved the 06 so much, just extended my payment 5 more years and bought my 'next new mustang' early...that was kinda the plan. now 15 years later, its still got 5 miles on it, dont even want to drive it- likely the last virgin S197 non-shelby/base GT stick in existence- a white elephant that I hope someday winds up at the henry ford or similar...
Anyways aside from the 2005 mustangs that revived the musclecar theme from the dead, I looked over the camaros, not for me- side view looks great, but front/rear too modern, and sitting in them- honestly worst visibility Ive ever seen- felt like sitting in a hole to me.. we all have our favorites, I'm sure many love the camaro/hate the mustang interior too- thats a great thing about choices... but I could not get interested at all in a camaro.
Then Challenger came along... like the 05 mustang, just love at first sight- even if a mopar which historically have unusual breakdowns- funny story- at the auto show around 2010, checking stuff out, thinking about a work truck...oldes son says 'dad- that dodge looks like a great deal compared to everyone else'- they had a stripped 4 door work truck type sitting there at like 15k or something way below everything else... I said, 'yeah, but its a mopar, theyve always had kinda hit or miss quality issues' not realizing a sales guy had walked up behind us... he starts right out "oh, sir, weve made great strides..." etc, and as if on queue, a lady and kid opened rear door and got out as he's rambling on... she closes door, it pops open, she slams it a little harder, it pops open getting our attention...she slams it firmly a third time- "TWANG!" a spring goes flying, nearly missing car next to it, door handle/panel/rod all janky hanging there- she steps back and shrugs her shoulders/walks away- i look at the sales guy and said, 'see...' I almost thought he was going to cry... felt bad for the guy, but... yeah I h=know things happen, and fords no better- mustang aluminum hoods corroded(even the undriven one started)4.6 phasers were a issue-i turned idle up and ran heavier oil to maintain hot idle pressure- thats what ate the lock pins out of most of them, mines still fine at 101k- our 19 f150 is going in for phasers already- huge job on trucks (most techs pull the cab to save time) so yeah stuff happens- but a buddy at work told me his durango had a cracked bellhousing- something that should NOT be a failure type of thing- and dealer said they had a lot of them...yeah.
anyways again, here we are...last of the musclecars, and arguably at the pinnacle of technology, is going away again...yeah mustangs still there, but the newer ones still dont call out to me at all, too modern for these old eyes, even if fastest/most advanced ever... theres lots of great cars out there that measure up fine on that yardstick- but only the challenger has the classic look...and Dodge is taking it away for good...
My 2nd oldest son ordered a 1320, almost talked me into ordering that widebody ive been eyeing since they came out, but im old, got too many cars already, no room/time/money to mess with more...so I waited...last week he said "I cant wait till it gets here- I wanna do the route66 trip one more time in MY car" my mustangs at over 100k, dont want to have a problem 2500 miles away, dont want to drive the 09... so went down and ordered the exact same car you reviewed here...
your comment at 21:45 is spot on, and that was my thoughts exactly...the days are numbered, and the days of a V8 stickshift are going to be gone FOREVER very very soon... let alone a 500horse hemi/6 speed in a classic wrapper... its 1970 again folks- the mpg/pollution/crap quality of the early 70s is coming back- but with higher prices, and poorer quality as companies simply cannot find enough employees who care about anything... sad times a comin, but so is $7 gas almost certainly...what to do. gotta live for something, if you are a classic car fanatic, and would like a reliable ride you can take anywhere for a few years, its now or never...
Haha 17:29 I love the loop around the roundabout that he does before continuing onwards!
I love this man! Best car reviewer ever đŻđ
I found one a a dodge dealership but they have it marked up $5000! And I offered to pay MSRP but they wonât take itđ€Šââïž
Hey Joe! When you metioned Hot Wheels cars It brings me back to when i recieve my driver license the lady printing my license she asked me what is my favorite 3 colors i told her Black,Red,Gray,White she had a big bucket of Hot wheels cars of random Classics and modern cars she grabbed a Dodge Challeger Hellcat 2015 with Black,Red,Gray colors and she had no idea that was my dream car and I told her that is my dream car and she said to me Im going to have that car in the future that made me so happy and keeping my faith that i will get it one day this was back in 08/02/2016 and I have been so patient and being responsible with priorities on the right time on getting one, I have been also indecisive between Scat Pack or R/T. Awesome car and review Joe!
I still donât get why Dodge is just throwing away ICE muscle cars. To me, it seems like itâs the dumbest financial decision ever. Their reputation for the past decade has been to create fun and powerful cars, and theyâre just throwing it away. Sure, they may be able to make more horsepower through electric, but by doing so, they are getting rid of what makes American Muscle so special.
It was never about getting the best track time or the fastest quarter mile, even if that is a big part of the mythos. Itâs about the experience, the feel.
The manual transmission is the personification of that. You donât get a manual because itâs practical or easy or great in traffic, you get it for the experience. Yeah sure EVs can make crazy fast and powerful vehicles, but they lack many of the thinks that make fun carsâŠfun: that low V8 rumble, that direct connection to the vehicle, and much more.
I hope that Dodge realizes their mistake with going fully electric or all this is just unfounded rumors clouded with smoke and mirrors.
Theyâre moving away from the ICE engines because the government will give them very very generous kickbacks for them to go to the EV platform. As for me I wonât buy the EV format of this car.

Tesla needs 4 electric motors for each wheel to beat a gas engine with rear wheel drive.
Let's see tesla build a single electric motor to power rear wheels only and let's see what happens on the dragstrip then.

Joe, I have written about how I was excited to see a gauge that shows the gear for a manual trans, even though I have been driving manual transmission vehicles for over 40 years and can tell what gear I am in, it is cool to see it. (I am making reference to the Blackwings) With this dash being dated I doubt this exists on the Challenger, but love this car as well and wanted to ask somewhere, thus here, if there are any other cars that you know of that show the gear for manual transmissions. I am so torn on what to get, but I want the pure muscle that is offered now, as when I hear it, like you, I cannot help but smile. EV's might go faster, but there is no sound that inspires excitement. Thanks.
Thank you for letting me share my passion with you Greg!
