I promote this Lovely Lady who is the grandmother of Rock and Roll and the Blues and yes she is in the Both Music Hall of Fame for her Great Abilities with her Electric Guitar and Singing ability, all the way back to the late 30's through early 60's. I am proud to say that we share the same hometown-Cotton Plant, AR.. What a Great Movie could be made from this this great Entertainers Life, I hope someone out there in the Music Business or Movie Industry could work on making this happen!!!

I just thought that that could very well be the young Ian Wheeler, a legend from the British Jazz scene. I am so very glad it is indeed him. As for sister Rosetta it goes without saying she is a legend on her own. Shes great in every respect !!

Everything Elvis did, ROSETTE THORPE did it FIRST, Elvis is a carbon copy of HER, but he gets to be The king of Rock N Roll. NO, ROSETTE THORPE IS THE GODDESS OF ROCK N ROLL!!!! Do you see the way she shakes the top half of her body, the way she moves, Elvis did the same thing, he got it from her!

Margaret, come on now, people are always saying this kind of thing. Bo Diddley (Don't get me wrong now, Bo has always been one of my main men, ALWAYS), anyway Bo said, Man, Elvis stood behind me at the Apollo and ripped off everything I was doing. So that's Bo and Sister Rosetta, both apparently responsible for Elvis' success. I don't think so, I think Elvis was responsible. Yes he was lucky he was white, I can just hear that one coming. Firstly Elvis was nevertheless inimitable (as was Sister Rosetta). Secondly, Little Richard, Chuck, and Fats all did well, and I think Bo finally made a few dollars after being robbed in his early career. I must look that last bit up, I admit.

@ OK I'm listening, we'll discuss it, yes? Not like in blues posts where people start swearing at each other at the drop of a hat. Sorry, I know, everybody knows, that black artists were robbed and swindled (mostly by Bobby Womack, who was also black-OK, OK, I'M joking, and that was another genre. Now I'm in trouble I guess). We could argue back and forth for hours, but OK, yes they did. My point was - Elvis pinched a bit here, a bit there, and came up with his OWN sound, it was HIM came up with the mixture. Margaret, are you going to tell me, if you took Rosetta off that stage and dropped Elvis in, he would just be a Rosetta clone and carry on with the show and nobody would see the difference? Er apart from colour and sex of course. Ha ha couldn't play guitar like her. And didn't sound like her not one bit, when That's all Right came on the radio, nobody could see Elvis, they just heard him. He never did sound much like Rosetta. Well I'm probably rambling Margaret, I'll stop now. But maybe I gave you the wrong impression, like a Klan member or something. That's not me.

@ Me again. The other thing is - Sister Rosetta did a lot of the ground work - but she herself was a gospel singer. People from various genres played and sang stuff that edged into R&R territory - but stayed within their own territory with instrumentation, arrangements whatever. First example I can think of, Sonny Burgess, great rockabilly singer, said Rockabilly was hillbilly music with drums. It was the drums that made the difference he said. Exaggerating in my opinion, because many hillbilly records were put out as rockabilly that were to me an unsuccessful mix between the two, like the singer sounded like some good ole boy for instance, not a teenager. Still, they filled up compilation albums for decades. I've forgotten my point Margaret, sorry.

People like you just CANT admitted that Europeans stole everything from non-Europeans, there LANDS , resources, that's how you got rich, there culture, people, got through there free labour. The only thing original about Elvis, is Elvis. "Everybody knows that black artist were robbed and swindled" but most of you don't want to admitted it. I don't need to argue back and forth for hours, because when something is a FACT/TRUE you don't have to argue. The only reason why you feel you are in trouble is because you are NOT being sincere. "Elvis pinched a bit here, and a bit there," NO he stole everything, the only thing original about Elvis is Elvis, everything thing else he copied. Why did European people in America thought he was African American. No one could get Rosette Tharpe, and Elvis Presley confuse, because Rosetta Tharpe is the REAL MCCOY and Elvis IS A WATERED DOWN WISHY WASHY PALE IMITATION of the REAL THING. When he did come on the radio, they thought he was African American, why was that? because Europeans did NOT sound or sang like that. Yes you are rambling, because you CANT admitted that Elvis was a CARBON COPY, of the true, original, inventers of Rock N Roll. Now the truth is out, people like you CANT handle the TRUTH. Check out Black Wall Street, the truth is HIDDEN.

@ OK I finally get what you're saying, Europeans back then that had emigrated to America and had already imported slaves and were continuing to do so. No I don't deny or try to hide the truth of it, please don't rant about the person You THINK I am, you're so wrong and I'm offended. Calm down and be rational and I'll talk some more, any more of that other stuff, I won't. "People like me," what a nerve, you have no idea what I'm like
