I found the cone form at Goodwill for $1 and decided to try this project last year after seeing many of your craft videos. The cones looked great but the spackle was so moist after adding paint to make "chocolate ice cream" that I had a difficult time forming it into a realistic form. You can always use air dry clay in the molds so as to avoid weight, and put tinfoil inside to fill out. As for chocolate you can use colored pufft paint or colored hot glue sticks. I make it that way so it's light enough to use them as Christmas ornaments
Hi there! I was wondering how long it would take for the ice cream to dry? I’m on day 2 of letting it sit out, and it’s still kinda smushy. Is the finish supposed to be hard?
I tried and used real cones, filled them with aluminum foil and a bit of plaster of Paris for some weight and tested with several sealers and it worked. I put plenty of sealer to keep the ants away lol!

I tried adding corn starch to a too wet batch of spackle once, and it would sort of firm up while I was mixing but then immediately collapse when I stopped (similar to how when you mix corn starch and water it moves like a fluid when undisturbed but thickens up when in motion).
