US has long given up the training and education needed for semiconductor engineering 40 years ago for advanced semiconductors...you cant get it back overnight or even within 5 years...might take 10+ years. (3) Ask what year a student is in for their studies. (4) Ask the "student" what academic programs they are in; quantum mechanics? chemistry? theoretical mathematics? astrophysics? engineering? computer hardware and software development? (5) What languages other than English and Spanish do they speak? (6) Have they done coursework in Symbolic logic ( e.g. VENN DIAGRAMS, etc. ) (7) Can they back up everything they say with independently verified factual and non-biased sources ( ask for proof of their sources ). (7) Will they agree to honestly consider alternatives to their position in the face of a compelling argument? If they hesitate, do not give clear simple responses, deflect, sidestep, to the above BEFORE entering into a discussion with you, do not engage them; they are NOT collegiate !

    @3:10 This kid in the crowd, and yes, I said kid, when my eldest son is older than both Kirk and the guy asking questions, "kid." But, I digress. In a tax system like the US, where there are 1 million words in it, and is graduating from poverty to rich its damn near impossible to get a "fair share" to be paid. Now, if you're old like me, than you will remember in the country when Ross Perot ran in 1992, and he campaigned on a Flat Tax. Everyone pays one percentage, and they can still get child credits and earned income credits, but its one rate for individuals, married/head of house/et, and sole proprietors. Meanwhile, C/S/LLC/LLP, and tax exempt Corporations pay their own single percentage. So the impoverished person make 10,000/yr at 20% will pay 2000 dollars, and the President making 400,000 dollars pays 80000 dollars. In short, the tax law is too complicated to have a "realistic" shot at getting people or companies to pay their fair share.

    • @jimmydeansausage6952
      @jimmydeansausage6952 Pƙed 23 dny +1

      A flat tax sounds appealing but think about it interms of the tax bracket
 a person that earns 10,000 a year and gets taxed 10% has to pay 1,000
 these people need to save their money to survive. The people that make 500,000 a year and get a flat tax of 10% will only need to pay 50,000! These people have so much more extra wealth and make so many extra purchases that could be itemized deductions! It wouldn’t be very regressive.

    • @1Adam20
      @1Adam20 Pƙed 23 dny

      @@jimmydeansausage6952 true. But, the other part would be to uncomplicate the tax codes and deductions. To need 1million words in a tax code and expect it to be fair share isn't logical.

These companies abroad know what they are doing, and their governments encourage the behavior. China literally uses slave labor in many cases. Don't blame the US citizen for wanting more than a few cents an hour. America first period. Screw their factories.
