- In this video, I show you how I use a No Rinse solution to wash may car in my garage. This is not a tutorial on how to detail your car. I'm not very good at this. This is a tutorial on how to use a no rinse solution on your Tesla from a normal human being point of view. Do I do a perfect job? Far from it. However, not everyone has the time and talent to properly detail a vehicle. You can really get a long way to a really good looking car with this method.

I use the same product and it does work very well. The only thing I do differently is that I use several smaller microfiber towels and NOT reuse them in the blue bucket. Thanks for the video. Stay safe.
Great idea with not reusing the towels. I have changed my method since making this video. I use a 3 towel method. 1. Wash. 2. Wipe. 3. Buff. I cycled the wash towel out and the other 2 towels move up the line and I insert a new, dry buff towel. Do this a few time. I end up using about 6 towels but I have them so it doesn't matter. One small change I would recommend... Get a couple grit guards for your buckets. I never thought they did much but I did a test a few years ago with a second rinse bucket. But for the test, instead of rinsing a dirty microfiber in both rinse buckets, I waited about 30 seconds after rinsing a dirty cloth, and then put a clean cloth in the bucket mixing it around gently just in the top half of the water, before then rinsing that one in the second rinse bucket. I did this because I wanted to see how much dirt that had not settled could be transferred into a cloth and back to the vehicle... I was shocked, as there was almost half as much grit in that extra rinse bucket as the dirty rinse.
I picked up a couple of the cyclone guards that chemical guys makes, and repeated the test. There was almost zero grit in the 3rd bucket. It is almost like the little funnels suck the dirt out of the cloth. For $10 ea, they are the best investment I have made in a long time. I am in CR, so I know how it gets trying to keep a vehicle clean in the winter 😉
@@matt1981m I bought the Chemical Guys 2 bucket wash system back in December. Haven't used it yet (too cold in MN) but I really like all the solutions made by them that I've used so far. Even the waterless wash was pretty good, but I went through it pretty quickly.

Smart solution! The only thing I’d add is maybe some grit guards for the bottoms of your buckets. Cheers!

One tip...no need for a second bucket of juts water. The water alone will not release the contaminants from the wash cloth. Just dunk dirty water ash cloth in onr bucket which will immediately release the contaminants and they will fall to the bottom of the bucket beneath the grit guard. Makes it so much quicker and safer

Won’t this leave swirl marks? Seems like it would but maybe not. Would think that after you spray the solution then wipe it off you would be dragging the dirt particles across the surface.

Would you happen to know where to get the ceramic coating and PPF work done...is it offered by Tesla when ordering the car?
I don't have full ppl or ceramic coating. Tesla does not offer it. You will need to find someone local to do it for your. There are DIY options but putting it on does take some skill to make it look good. Other than small sections of PPF on the back doors, I don't have anything else.

Have you considered using a scrubbie from the kitchen to help remove the bug guts?
I need to remove bugs from my motorcycle just about every ride. Some of the painted surfaces will mark up very easily, so, I'll just take a piece of paper towel soak it in windscreen cleaner and lay it in the bug splat(s) and let it soak a couple minutes. Then it just wipes off very easily.
I agree with this. The paint of my Tesla is so fragile. I don't think I would want to scrub it with really anything. This isn't just a Tesla problem. My Mini Cooper had really soft paint too. Thanks for watching!

I just throw them in the washing machine and wash them normally in hot water. Comes out clean. Some light stains but fine. Good question!
Don't use any fabric softner with microfiber towels or you'll get greasy streaks forever after.

@@chezchezchezchez I put my used Microfibre towels, one at a time, on a couple of rubber outdoor mats and spray them with a strong stream of water (I've seen a Detailer using the pressure washer). After I have done them all I give them to the Wife and she washes them in the washing machine using a detergent which is sympathetic to the cloths. Finally they go into the dryer which keeps them soft and fluffy. Since I've been using this system, the cloths have come out much cleaner.
Nice video, I always fold my micro fiber towels in 4ths, always flipping the towel to a clean side, once all eight sides are used, I discard them.

honestly this is a recipe for disaster. Just imagine you have small grit particles on you car. ONR is not going to make any difference. You are dragging grit across your paint. If you have to do this because time is more important than quality pressure wash off the car first. This is a very poor piece of washing advice
