    Can anyone explains to me the dinky 215-15’s on the rear of most of these $100k plus builds with 1000 odd hp and in the wet? They can’t afford rubber to keep matching wheels on the back, don’t have the power to spin descents meats???

    • @naterobbo19
      @naterobbo19 Před 2 lety +5

      if you could rather spend $200 on some stockies and not risk your good wheels becoming damaged, its more cost efficient then spending money on putting new tyres on your matching wheels. Its how the rich stay rich my friend.

      @@naterobbo19 huh, I track my daily that I do 600km a week in 20 times a year. From rally, to drag racing, to circuit racing and a head of drifting, never ONCE have I ruined a wheel or come close.
      I can only assume you guessing with you facts.... Also love your last clueless sentence 👌🏼

      Pretty easy to go through 30-40 tires in a weekend, and unlike drifting for instance, grip levels don't really matter in a skid car, most of these will turn a 355 just the same as a 215 and with wheels speed up in the 200-300km/h range, theres minimal difference between widths. it can also help to save the bodywork when the pop to tires, even at relatively low cold pressures, they still make a mess when they go, hence why you see extremely shortened diffs, with small tires tucked right up in the tubs, helps minimise a lot of the belt slap on the quarters...
      99% will have big wheels for other uses, but for powercruise/summernats type events, there's simply no reason to blow through a pile of $600 tires, when $50 ones will do the exact same job...
