Brad wasn't close to Michael. Only Trevor. And he didn't have to sacrifice Trevor but he was afraid that Trevor would find out and try to kill him. Remember Trevor makes enemies no matter where he goes

Yeah I also noticed it. That ending’s dialogue was written very well, and it shows that in the end Franklin became just like Michael. Still doesn’t feel like a true ending to the game but yeah it was well done
I honestly always thought that was the games original ending, but it changed with the addition of Trevor (it seems he was added much later into the development cycle than Michael and Franklin). It definitely still feels like the game hints that Franklin is slowly becoming Michael throughout, but Trevor’s addition caused them to rethink the story.
I might be wrong, but that’s just what it seems like to me

Michael has been guiding Franklin away from being him, and not let anyone manipulate. This is why Franklin gets in the record label business. If Franklin kills Michael he would just become Michael’s shadow and if Franklin kills Trevor he will stay as Michael’s shadow. By Saving those two, he made a choice to not let anyone manipulate him by giving him get-out-of-jail card to kill either of his friends.

Michael is the most well-written character in GTA 5 honestly. His quotes and personality is very unique and it's a reason why he's my favorite character as well. You forget a thousand things every day, make sure this is one of them!

I love Michael's character. You just know he's so into movies, that it was either a movie quote, or that Michael's just heard so many movie quotes that he gives advice in quotable ways. Also, the repetition in Michael. The "you forget a thousand things every day. Make sure this is one of them", in two different heists. And now, Frankling taking Michael's words verbatim. He's becoming like Michael.

This ending implies the cycle repeated itself. Franklin became Michael
Yeah it's the most poetic ending. Ending A is somewhat poetic too as Franklin completes his 'education' under Michael and Michael completes the betrayal he started 10 years ago in North Yankton. Ending C is the best ending and what I expected Franklin to choose.

The subtleties in GTA 5 make the story even better.
Truly I played ending B (after completing the story ) and I genuinely cried, Michael was just a mentor to frank and he just kills him for som rich piece of trash.

Michaels words didn't convince Franklin to kill him, Franklin just remembered that line that Michael told him and used it because it was a good line.
It didn’t convince him but what he said was stuck with him and it the quote applied in ending B
Maybe Michael was inferring that having some people around him was like dead weight, making him unable to keep going(running). I’m high asf so take this with a grain of salt
Michael and Franklin having a genuine moment while the NPCs go insane is peak GTA.
Killing michael seemed like a canon ending if it was a real movie based on real story. Because he stabbed everyone he ever met in the back and tried to justify it. But in the same time ending c was there to show you that you can be the better person and show mercy.

I honestly think it was meant to be the canon ending at first. You can notice that as the story goes on, Franklin slowly becomes more and more like Michael. Since most signs indicate Trevor was added later in development, I think the games story originally was going to focus on that dynamic, and end like this-but the addition of Trevor led to them refocusing, but still keeping those subtle signs
@@KameroonEmperor Michael is still kicking. In one of the short trips GTA Online missions Franklyn and Lamar cut through Richards Majestic with Franklyn making remarks about Michael’s position as a producer.

Also it appears Franklin attempts to hoist Michael up and Mike headbutts Franklin causing him to let go. It seemed to me like Mike took himself out more than Franklin did. Frank just helped him get to that point is all.
Yeah it looked like Franklin was trying to save him and Michael prevented that.
That's a small alt animation in that part, actually. As franklin is holding michael's hand you get a prompt to either let go or pull him back up. Pulling him up plays this, letting go "skips" to him falling.

The power of cutscenes, you get get shot 1000 times, blown up in a car, fall out of a airplane with no parachute, get set on fire, or get stabbed to death in game, respawn in a hospital. That happens to you in a cutscene, it’s over

Ending B doesn’t make sense though. Devin screwed over Franklin, never paid him, but sure let’s clip Michael.
Ending A does since Franklin might want the FIB off of his ass, so sure kill Trevor.
But Ending C is cannon as we have all of them alive in the parts of GTAO that are set after the game.

True, but, the game subtly indicates that Franklin is slowly becoming like Michael as it goes along (for example: he’s willing to abandon Lamar to die before Tanisha scolds him into saving him). So him stabbing Michael in the back makes sense.
The problem is he has no reason to trust Devin so….. yeah, they could’ve done it better for sure
B kind of makes sense because Devin wanted Michael killed because Molly’s death was because Michael was chasing her

That ending is definitely the most fitting for the story, but ending C is a happy ending for all three protagonists. It is also interesting how, even if you choose to save Michael, he headbutts Franklin who accidentally drops him. It’s almost like Michael always wanted to die. Perhaps his son was right and he did see the faces of everybody he has killed, good or bad. Then the mess of a family he had. Maybe when he said “you can’t run” he was referring to losing the will you live as well. He was an alcoholic who sat around watching old movies all day until Franklin acted as a catalyst in his life.
It was indeed the most correct ending, unfortunately most people haven't really taken a deep look into all of the story and dialogue. Michael deserved to die more than anyone in the entire game, even trevor. Deathwish is canon because they wanted to keep the opportunity for GTA online stuff involving them all

Honestly I never found it believable that Franklin could take either of these guys out or they would run from him. Micheal would have put two bullets through his eyes before he could draw and Trevor would have rage killed him in a blink.

The real thing is that neither Micheal nor Trevor want to kill Franklin. They have been through thick and thin together, they just robbed the biggest gold repository in America, Franklin isn't just any random nobody they can just kill with no thought. Sure, they could definitely kill him instantly as they have many others, but they don't want to.
