    That's more like it - 4th video I've watched, first that just gets on with assembly rather than figuring it out as they go and mumbling along. Thanks.

      I guess it's a slight improvement on the manual! Bare minimum... And the music - if they cared, they would put quality and not something that's going to reverberate through my damn skull! Like on hold phone music that makes you hold your phone six inches away from you ear because they don't really want to talk to me - gaaaahhhhhhh!!! Sorry, I know your rage.

    just a heads up as it is not shown in the video, the LGA1700 black plate has two white stickers that have to be removed, when you do this there's some sort of glue under it that allow you to just put it on the mobo and you don't have to hold it with another hand when you put the mobo back on the right side.

      @@creativ01 yeah but i meant they didn't write the detail on the text in the video, i've done my build with the video running at the same time so i didn't notice the stickers being removed, i noticed after screwing the backplate so i unscrewed it and removed them.

    This is the beast cooler. Nothing even comes close to the value it provides. Destroying 2x-3x expensive Noctua coolers. It manages to cool my 13700 to 90 when the processor is using 260W of power!!!! But I have not mentioned that my case is completely enclosed since I have placed it outside on balcony to protect it from rain. 90C with no air circulation. Marvel!

      @@MrJhon3091 Depends on what load their CPU is under. I assume they mean @260w and full boost clock. New intel CPUs are running up to thermal throttle at 100c by design to squeeze every last drop of performance out. Having a newer intel CPU at boost clock sustained at 90c with an air cooler is phenomenal.

  • @summoner1451

    So do you not have to replace the backplate on AM4? I'm upgrading from 3700x to a 5700X3D and plan on buying one of these. If i don't even have to replace the backplate. That means i don't have to remove my motherboard to install this and my new CPU. I can just remove my old AMD cooler and CPU, put in my new 5700X3D and install this with a few screws lol. That is pretty great.

  • @sandmaster4444

    The cooler is not symmetric; which way to get best cooling for the AM5 hot spot?

    • @rapamune
      @rapamune Před 10 měsíci +33

      The cooler is pre-optimized to cover more heatpipes towards the graphics card end (south, CCD chiplet coverage) - if in doubt you place the cooler on the cpu without adding paste first, make sure the cooler is closest to the graphics card PCI-e slot.

    • @rapamune
      @rapamune Před 9 měsíci +3

      @@salam023-sd9wx The whole point of offsetting the baseplate towards CCDs (located on southern edge of AM4/AM5) is to place more of the heatpipes above the actual heatsource. I dont know what test you are referring to, but everyone (across brands, including Noctua) now offer off-set mounts for this exact purpose.

Gameplay temp is max 68-73 degrees centigrade benchmark test temp is 85 degrees centigrade max. Case is Asus Tuf Gt 502 with 5 intake and 3 exhaust 120mm fans and all fans is %50 speed max for quite. How tight am I supposed to screw the heatsink? It seems it's turning endlessly :(

    • @NytronX
      @NytronX Před 6 měsíci +6

      Evenly tighten the heatsink by switching off multiple times back and forth between each side until they both tighten down. If you don't evenly tighten down the heatsink, it will affect thermal paste spread and thus will reduce thermal efficiency. The screws require a deceptive amount of turns in order to tighten them. Pretend the screws are 3x as long as they actually are. They'll eventually bottom out, no need to go gorilla tight with them at that point. Gutentight is fine.
