Playing Minecraft Legacy PS4 Edition in 2023 | Why It's AWESOME!

In today's video, we explore the discontinued Minecraft Legacy PlayStation 4 Edition, which received it's last update in 2019 and has since been replaced by Bedrock Edition. With it's removal from the PlayStation store, the only way to play this version is if you already owned and had it downloaded, or if you buy a disc - which are increasingly rare to come by. Even in 2023, there's still so much to do in this edition, such as the minigames, epic tutorial world, and custom superflats, and it still has a decently sized community to this day.

I love this. Its much better than bedrock. If they still updated it, could you imagine a nether update tutorial world?

On bedrock Xbox you Can download addons, maps online, you will have deferred rendering, on mobile you have all of that and communities shaders and finally on pc you have preview and beta, the editor, you Can also go in older versions with a unofficial launcher and i know only one but there is one modding api but it's very recent.
Also bedrock is cross platforms, worlds are huge and the game is updated.
So i don't think legacys are really better than bedrock, probably better than bedrock on PS and Switch

I had many DLC map packs and skins that I play throughout the mini games but it’s so sad that it was discontinued

If i dont have legacy edition and i buy dlc battle mode map packs, will it give me legacy edition? Since microsoft is a ps4 hater and doesnt let us just buy legacy as a separate game on psn too

A week ago i took out the box my old ps3 after 8 years and the first game i inserted into it was minecraft, i clicked the flying challenge minigame and, to my absolute wonder, a guy joined the game and I had a lot of fun

Mine actually discontinued in 2019 but still updates to 1.20

I have almost more than 78% of all trophies before my disc got stolen but working on getting a new one for the nostalgia

THIS is what bedrock should've been. Even if bedrock and legacy edition are completely different things, i still think legacy edition shouldve replaced bedrock and make it available on every platform like bedrock, and then they can add their modern updates like they do nowadays, but make it less garbage and with less bugs.
I have a cool idea like what if mojang like kept the old Minecraftish atmosphere and like combine it
with totally different updates and make it exclusive to console (just an opinion though)

I originaly bought my xbox one in 2017 as my first console for minecraft console edition i picked up my copy of the game on disc just before the game was discontinued once i heard it was discontinued but the xbox 360 wasnt and a friend of mine had a xbox 360 with minecraft he didnt want anymore and wanted a wii for it since he alsways has been a java player. I went out got a wii then traded it for the 360 i afterwards played the living daylights out of minecraft on my xbox 360. I eventualy got a ps3 and ps4 for minecraft console as well since i have bedrock on my xbox one but have always missed console. We will have to see what the future of minecraft is and hopefully possibly in the far future we will see console edition return.
