Sure glad I come across this video, it’s the actual legends themselves telling it like it was. Awesome 👍

For everyone wondering this was the Son of Wyatt Earps older Half brother Newton, he was born around the time Wyatt moved to tombstone in 1879.

Man is right. Standing on your own principles and backing them up is harder than relying on paperwork. Just gotta make sure you’re good and right when you do it. ❤

I saw a cowboy cop in 1980 in Winslow Arizona that dude was wearing a six shooters on each hip and he had a cowboy hat cowboy boots and he was Dusty he was out working the range we're bad people by himself. Just like the character out of a Louie louie lamoore novel he was just bad ass tough.

This is Virgil Edwin Earp , nephew by way of Wyatt's half-brother .
Virgil was born in 1879 and died 1959 , the same year as this episode .
He got to work with his uncle Wyatt Earp .

My grandmas husband (technically my grandpa but not by blood) is also a nephew of Wyatt Earp born Feb 14th 1950.
Ive known for over 15 years now but it was just set in stone when a woman who claims to be a neice looked up her ancestry, found the information herself and reached out to my grandmother to confirm.
I never doubted it tho, and honestly this is my first time seeing Marshal Virgil Earp but i can 100% see some resemblance between him and my grandfather.
    Same jaw line
    Same ears
    Same nose
    They even talked the same.
Seems they aged the same as well.
My grandfather was even shot in his back in a driveby. The entire family from generation to generation dealt with the same shit 😂 only thing is my grandfather grew up in the 60s and 70s so he did alot of speed or "crank" as they called it in that era. A whole family of outlaws regardless of generation.
Crazily enough my grandfather's nephew was shot at a party in 2019 or 2020 i think. Is there some sort of Earp curse? 😂im starting to recognize an obvious pattern here..

It's so wild hearing old events. Like this. John Wayne The DUKE always said his cowboy movies acting is from the time he knew Wyatt Earp when he would go to LA movie sets. My dad talked about how he & brothers & sister would ride there horses to school. They had horse drawn wagons. He was a real cowboy that lived on the family ranch. To help im the youngest son, my mom & dad had 2 children then after many many years of trying to have more kids my mom & dad adopted 3 of us boys.

he sums it up perfectly, no tools, no radio, no backup, no convenient paddywagon, in short, no INFRASTRUCTURE, you were just a small handful of men in a wooden shed trying to maintain order with a gun and a prayer. it's not like you could call a neighboring precinct for backup when the next "precinct" is half a day's ride from here.
another problem related to this lack of infrastructure and manpower was public patience with major crimes getting justice. for example, the split between legal hangings and lynchings in Arizona from 1860-1911 was roughly 60/40, with 42 legal hangings compared to 32 lynchings. back then there weren't many lawmen in a single sheriff's office/jail/etc.
If a prisoner was accused of killing 3 people during a robbery and those people happened to be well liked, if the defense and the prosecution are filing motions and countermotions and dragging the process on long enough, the jail might be surrounded by 40 angry townsfolk with a rope and a grudge. i don't care how good you are with that Colt, 2-3 lawmen versus 40 people who have them surrounded is a losing bet and the lawman's only options are:
1.) allow the lynching to happen
2.) try to stop it and get hospitalized or killed over it
3.) open fire on the crowd, killing multiple townsfolk in a small closeknit community, guaranteeing loss of public trust and growing animosity IF you don't get killed as in option 2.

I live not far from Virgil Earps grave site in Oregon…. The Uncle to the man in this video and the brother to Wyatt. Quite the story how Virgil needed up buried at river view cemetery in Portland Oregon when he never lived in Oregon and to my knowledge only visited a couple times.

The books say they were dirty. Wyatt was greedy, was friends w the cowboys, and merked some of em to keep robbing and looting w no one the wiser. Read like 6 pages and had to put the book down. Not wat the show in the dam movies
