Sometime idling problem not coming from idling sensor... Its come from vacuum 16mm (13mm maybe forgot) hose (cracked and buy new one at spare part shop about rm3 per meter) but when u clean the throttle body it good time to clean that idling sensor... Good job and very details video... Actually I have subscribed your channel long time ago.... I also alza user...
thank you very much, the 12mm nut is very hard to open, suggest to use a 1/2" socket, also to open the sensor screw, use a hammer to tap on the screwdriver before opening ( to loosen it up), however i also broke the plastic socket clip just like you
The one you referring as idling sensor is IACV or IAC Valve. An idle air control actuator or idle air control valve (IAC actuator/valve) is a device commonly used in fuel-injected vehicles to control the engine's idling rotational speed (RPM).
If it has 6 wire, then it's a stepper motor controlling the valve. If it less than six wire prolly an actuator(never seen one attached to a throttlebody before). Calling it a sensor is way off...
I thought the bolts need to be tightened with 22Nm of torque? Or just hand torque is ok already? Ive seen other videos use torque wrench for tightening the bolts
Its great if you have the torque specs. Pls follow it. Over tightening or under tightening can cause an air leak and rough idling. Fortunately the Alza has a big rubber gasket which seals the throttle body and allows quite a big margin of error that you can use hand tightening!
By cleaning the throttle body and sensor does this helps to relieve the low idling speed as my motor tends to have low idling speed when in gear, standstill and gear shifted to drive. Does this also helps with the fuel efficiency and responsiveness too ? I have already cleaned up the ignition coils but unfortunately I haven't noticed much improvement though. Thanks in advance !
Low idling is good unless its too low and your car starts to vibrate then yes, cleaning the throttle body will help. Doesnt really do much for fuel efficiency
thanks for your video I was able to remove the throttle body for a clean up. Just a query, the canister vacuum hose contained a lot of water as I removed it. I was unable to search much info online. Would you kindly know what the issue is ? thanks again
Are you sure its water? There shouldnt be any water there. You should check your purge solenoid (FICD) is working and charcoal cannister is not clogged
@@jh-ow2zd wasn't able to open as I need to get a torx screw driver. Besides there was for 4 Philips screw head that I could of opened but due to insufficient tools I wasn't able to open up just yet. Throttle body I managed to clean out. For your info mine is a daihatsu sirion 1.3 kv-3e 2006

Hi Jh just wondering if you might know. I have a steering issue Each time I turn left and right I always hear a clunking noise coming from the steering column. Would you have any ideas what this problem could be ? Thanks in advance..
Depends on what sound could be steering rack or could be drive shaft or bearings. Hard to tell without listening. Do u notice power steering fluid level dropping?
Boss....kalau buka sensor throttle body tu, lepas pasang balik, kena cucuk komputer atau tidak. Sebab ada kawan yg kata kena pergi kedai setting balik. Tq boss
Tak payah cucuk computer. Boleh biarkan ambil masa belajar balik. Kalau nak reset pun boleh. Buka wayar negatif bateri tunggu 5 minit. Lepas tu pasang balik. Tapi radio kena setting balik.
If engine bay on, mechanic usually service the lazy way. Just spray only. Never disassemble anything. But its not very clean. And any dirt will get pulled into the intake manifold
I believe they call that idle air control valve (IACV). (not sensor, MAF is the sensor) Notice its rounded... it doesn't matter which way is up it still work. It work as a plunger moving in & out to control amount of air bypassing the butterfly valve for idling. (During idling the butterfly valve fully close)
Ada satu lubang di dinding tempat IACV tu masuk, spray utk cuci juga ya. That is the passage way where the air enter the intake manifold when idling to keep the engine running, the butterfly is close when idling.
@@jh-ow2zd hello, how much is that vacuum hose cost? you only replace the shorter hose or the long one? mine is broken too, for now I use cable tie only 😅

@@naznazrin8588 haha this is not really for performance. This actually helps for idling. If your car stops at the traffic lights your RPM meter is more stable. For performance you should see my other video on cleaning the DVVT

You can reset if u want immediate re-learning

Bos...how u Clean the IAC? Using the carb cleaner or electrical contact cleaner? Tq in advance
Carb cleaner
Electric contact cleaner not strong enough to clean carbon deposit.
Why u didn't cut the broken hose(the broken part only) and fix back. The broken socket clip can put epoxy gum to tighten it.
Oh i just replaced the hose as it was getting old and brittle anyway. Good tip on the epoxy gum!👍
Not recommended to use expoxy gum on those hose.
did someone know what is called for that broken hose? so I can find it in a shop, mine hose are broken too
