    You're off on his early history. Putin got sent to Dresden specifically because he was not outstanding among his peers at the KGB. The more favored roles were in Leningrad and Moscow. If you were sent to a different country, you wanted to be in the capitol, not a secondary city. At this point in his career, Putin was somewhat floundering. It wasn't until the fall of the wall and him standing down the crowd outside the embassy that we get the first idea that this guy is maybe a little more than meets the eye.

I often find myself falling into fanatism and I always try to correct that tendency. Having that said I don't think it's entirely accurate to say that the Ukraine war is Russia vs Ukraine. I'd argue it's already a World War albeit by proxy. The amount of support Ukraine is receiving from many countries around the globe is astounding and I'm sure Russia is getting more help than what they'd like to admit. Finally one that can actually understand both sides. The thing is, you'd only get this mindset if you were brought up on the Eastern Bloc. NATO idealists don't even try to understand Russia. I'm surprised they are so afraid of Russia given how small Russia's economy is, but still resillient that couldn't get crippled by sanctions.

      When your a powerful nation sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Even when it’s horrific and most who haven’t seen combat or what goes on behind the scenes will react badly to it. Understandably though. This world isn’t unicorns and fairy dust, bad things happen. Sometimes for the worse and sometimes for the good. Pick your poison. I agree that the US can be just as brutal. Every empire throughout history has done some messed up things to maintain power. Especially China and Japan. Their war was brutal.

    • @dominokos
      @dominokos Před 8 měsíci

      Life really has always been and always will be a big game of pick your poison. Yes, every empire and even every state or really any larger collective organsiation does evil things. The difference between "The West" and countries like Russia or China is "The West" will use violence to coerce people into unfavorable deals, whereas Russia will slaughter a population and loot their remains wholesale. As seen in the current conflict.
      China is a bit more inspired by the American way in their international dealings, but is also fully committed to violently quelling any form of dissent. In my view of history these kinds of approaches work very well, moreso nowadays with today's technology and avenues of control, but I doubt it can work longterm. Might be wrong though. Can't say for sure.
      But the Russian way is absolutely a dead-end to my eyes. As much as Ukraine may be a walking zombie - and a last line of defense before the biggest war in history - propped up by Western influence, Russia due to the unsuccessful nature of the "military operation" has fully transitioned into a puppet of the CCP. Russia is completely and utterly dependent on Chinese influence, and even the deal with Kim Jong-Un is just a Chinese arms deal in disguise.

The explosives themselves are rather inert as long as there is no sufficient detonator, but the fuels are highly volatile and reactive. An interesting video touching on many events in Russia. But very often some events are not disclosed, for example, conspiracy theories about “Ryazan Sugar”, a submarine (the question was asked immediately after the joke and in the original it is clear how almost immediately Putin begins to talk about it seriously), about the causes of the war in Georgia, when Russian UN peacekeeping troops were attacked first by Georgian troops. An interesting video containing a lot of useful information, but the one-sidedness of the position and all these missed moments created specifically to show Putin in a certain light are very noticeable.

The character of an individual or nation is measured by their works . . development of gold-backed currency and a legitimate trading network is one of the most dangerous activities that any elected leader can attempt . . JFK is the last president to have the courage to do the same in this country -- issuing silver-backed certificates that would retain their value and replace the dollar over time . . effectively eliminating the Fed and restoring a free and independent US economy with real currency. Very few other nations have had control over their money supply . . These are -- Libya and Gadaffi the "terrorist" had created gold-backed currency and a legitimate fund and trading network on that basis to support African nations and replace World Bank IMF loan sharking schemes that bankrupt these nations to maintain the status quo . . Syria, a formerly free and peaceful nation in control of it's own economy and money supply . . and Russia -- also in the process of creating gold-backed currency and a trading network with other BRIC nations -- real currency and a free economy as the true litmus test of freedom -- something that we haven't had the courage to attempt since JFK . . as any means must be found to create crisis and war in the region as US/Western networks installed the current Ukrainian regime in 2014 and have provided military training and weapons since at least 2016. Eight long years during the bombing of the Donbass region and the murder of thousands of ethnic Russians -- proves Russia's efforts to find any other solution to this . .
      . . And that's about it -- all others enjoy as we do the benefits of legalized counterfeit "fiat" currencies that funnel the wealth of human exchange out of our economies so that we don't retain what we produce -- in the greatest of resources -- the human resource. One minor issue about the NATO membership countries under Clinton. There was no “idealism” with Clinton but simple politics. What we now know from State Department communications during 1995-1996 was that Clinton was basically forced to admit Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. Poland threatened to develop nuclear weapons and the others appeared with John McCain and threatened to campaign against Clinton in 1996. Clinton tried to assuage Yeltsin, and didn’t announce the news until Yeltsin won the election. Ultimately, it was political expediency that lead to the NATO membership.

    Correction, Christianity was not imported in the Slavic world from Constantinople via Kyiv. It was imported via Bulgaria in 870. That is more than a century before the Christianisation of Kyivan Rus in 988 and around seven centuries before Russia was created in 1547. Bulgaria is also where the Cyrillic alphabet was created and where many of the initial original church scripts were translated from Greek to Bulgarian.

      His view, has a lot of truth in it, but it left a lot out, and it is also very one sided. This is one view on the matter. But if you believe that this is completely objective and without any bias then you are naive my friend. I am not a fan of Russia, and sure as hell against their criminal war in Ukraine. But that should not be an excuse for being complacent and letting yourself being pulled in a one-sided biased view and pointing the finger at Russia for everything bad and wrong. I understand that it is emotional and that it is comfortable to see Putin and Russia in auch a way, as evil. But we have to ask ourselves is this really the objective truth, or is there more to the story. I am not a geopolitical expert but I am well read on this topic. I for one believe that the matter is much more complex than presented here. I believe that the US foreign policy, military industrial complex and Nato played a role in estranging Russia in order to build them up as their enemy once again. I think that it is naive to believe that the West did nothing wrong and just wanted a democratic Russia and help the surrounding countries without any ulterior motives or agenda. That they never did anything to antagonize the Russians but tried to help them the best they could. I cannot believe that especially after reading "the grand chessboard" by Brezinski the former foreign policy adviser of many presidents and chief architect (with Kissinger) of Americas strategy for the late cold war and after, among other reputable books and authors. Please research the topic more in depth to get a more nuanced and objective perspective on the matter, instead of those one-sided biased views clearly with an agenda. I am not saying you should not watch channels like this one, but you should be knowledgeable in order to understand where they are coming from/where their bias lies/what they are leaving out (on purpose or because of bad/superficial research). There are so many channels talking about geopolitics with authority even though they hardly read one book about it but just repeating mainstream media talking points. There are many really knowledgeable and good channels/authors out there, please check them out. If you are really interested in understanding/getting a grip on the matter you should start by reading the book I mentioned above; "The grand chessboard" by Brezinski. That is a good introduction into the psyche of the US/Western foreign policy elites and their strategy to deny Russia any power and remain the undisputable global superpower. For all the critics saying that I am somehow anti-American, I can assure you I am not. I am in favour of US global dominance. I am a realist, so I see the benefits but also the problems/failures of politicians/industries/agencies and I cannot be in favour of a one-sided analysis whereby the entire responsibility is given to the other side without any reflection what so ever. That I cannot do.

He kept on mentioning how close NATO are, yet their contries are in recession (Germany, England, USA). No mention of how Ukraine is already destroyed and is only surviving due to western help. No mention on how the rouble was the best performing currency in 2022. No mention that the 2014 massacre in Ukraine was an American backed coup. No mention of how the West wanted a regime change in Russia, but got regime changes in Italy, England (x2) and soon Germany instead.
