    A couple addendums:
When I say 1K can immediately lead to WR A, I mean you really can do 1KWRA as a combo and hit the opponent before they land on the ground.
In SC, 4K is another move that gets armor (but only if you hold it).
Let me know if I forgot anything else worth mentioning!

Love the video here is some additional information:
9:10 4K A is more damage after the 66K lethal hit
14:00 I think stepping the last hit is character specific.
Also its hard but its possible to simple walk forward before doing the BK.
18:32 You can add a 44B after the AB
    Reversal edge:
Round 2 K you can do 214A for 109 damage

Great video. There is some minor misinformation at 19:20, the bat attack is NOT automatic when doing 214 A+G, it only happens on the directional A press (8A/2A). You've done it without the A press a lot in the video so not sure what happened there, lol. Also, during soul-charge you can use 1A B, or 1A A without having to hold the 1A input. This makes WSC > 234 A, 1A A, a true combo if not ukemi'd, since you don't need to charge the 1A that's making it readable/blockable. A couple really massive tips are that when an opponent ukemis, if they're close enough you can low grapple as an ukemi punish, either 1A+G or 2A+G works for this and it's usually very difficult for many opponents to react to. The other tip is that you can pull off some pretty nasty combos if the opponent NEVER ukemis during the combo.
A few examples of these combos are as follows:
66K (close range), A+B, 44K (you'll be turned around at this point so you'll actually press 66K here), hold B. If done properly you should get 119 damage off of this if your opponent doesn't ukemi, they also still get hit by the 44K(66k) stomp if they ukemi any direction which may allow you to still get the B off as long as you don't charge it, although they could just ukemi that as well albeit with difficulty.
213 A+G, 44B(unblockable). If done fast enough, can not be rolled out of, only ukemi'd. If the opponent ukemis, go with the guaranteed 22/88 B instead of the unblockable, if you're cheeky you can run forward and grab them out of the ukemi but it's not recommended since they can see it coming and not ukemi.
6B (counter hit), 22/88K, 44 B(unblockable), janky combo that really shouldn't work but does if the opponent doesn't ukemi. Can't be rolled out of or reverse impacted. (This unblockable attack can land any time 22/88K lands on an opponent and it stuns them, keep in mind this is not the shockwave version but the regular press. The shockwave version does allow this exact combo to be preformed if the shockwave stun lands. Another plus about this is if you expect the enemy to ukemi, you can simply cancel the unblockable with a low grapple and punish their ukemi.)
4B+K during close-range-hit B, 3B hold (unblockable, you'll be turned around so you'll actually press and hold 1B instead)
    11/77 B K, B+K, G (guard cancel) 3B hold (unblockable, you'll be turned around so you'll actually press and hold 1B instead)
The good thing about these two is if they guard the unblockable then you get a free 28 A+G. These are both unrollable except for the 11/77 B K combo, which can be rolled toward Astaroth's left. All these combos however can be ukemi'd which the counter to is a well timed low grapple, which essentially makes these moves 50/50s.
Again, great video, made me subscribe. I especially liked seeing 4A B, 4A A, 4A B. Got a laugh out of it. I'd love to see you do a video on the newest update and combos you can do in it, especially A+G2. I would also like to see you elaborate on some wall combos because Astaroth has some pretty gnarly ones. Sincerely the 4th ranked Astaroth on PC, Gorash. (Don't mind my CZcams name, lol, I made it when I was like 12.)

It's nice that even an Asta player as high ranked as yourself enjoyed the video! I'm trying those combos next time I play. (I'll reply here with questions if I have any after attempting.) I'd also like to make a video for Season 2 but am waiting until I spend more time in it. As for the wall combos, you're right in that he definitely has them. I decided not to include them in this guide because of how situational most are, but I may make a video dedicated to just that later. Thanks for the advice!

@@flyguy2997 Slow, grapple oriented brute. Very high on offense and damage but his moves come out "slowly" which makes you have to rely on mixups and grabs to make up for that. Although, if you play really well you can beat anybody with him. the game is extremely well balanced in my opinion.

    • @TanukiTussle
      @TanukiTussle  Před 3 lety +2

This video is a bit outdated in the sense that Asta has so many new moves and combos now, but all these combos should still work. For the first one you mentioned, do you mean 11B, K, 22B? For the second one you mentioned, I think it might actually have to be a lethal hit in order for it to be a true combo in which case the video is slightly inaccurate. (I might have to check that later.) I've actually been thinking about making a S2 guide for Asta now that I've had a lot of experience with his new stuff. The most recent patch was pretty mean to him though.

They are quite worth it, mainly for higher end mind games. It forces your opponent to either guess, eat your next mixup or just Soul Charge to get you off them which in turn makes it easy Resist Impact bait, or Break Attack because you can guess they'll Guard Impact or Reversal Edge. Also you're +4 after it.

SC4 had the best version of Astaroth. He's been getting nerfed ever since. He's probably the worst character in SC6. He cannot punish anything because he's too slow, he has no quick cheap lows like most characters, his armor is delayed on input, and his damage doesn't make up for his slowness as other characters like Nightmare do just as much damage. But he is fun to play with.
