You have great videos on Q7. I have a question for you, if I need to delete EGR, is it possible to get rid of whole unit (EGR valve, EGR cooler, etc)? I have see videos to install EGR blanking plate but that will only stop crap coming from EGR to clean cold air. But all the possible issues due to EGR cooler and EGR valve will still be there. Would like to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks
Done this on my a5 dpf delete, egr delete, and maifold of and cleaned it out 5-6 times with oven cleaner and scraper nightmare of a job but the car runs smoother now
I can’t remember if I did a follow up video but I’m sure it’s out there. The car got 3mpgs better and the oil looked a lot cleaner. I don’t have the q7 anymore but I do have an A6 TDI and I have yet to delete it and do carbon cleaning. Probably this winter I’ll do it.
Rawtek sold to me. They just didn’t have the part I needed. Rawtek is a great company and I didn’t see anything about not shipping to California but it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the case now.
Thanks for making these videos. I too would like to do some of these same mods to my wife's '15 Q7 TDI. Question how many miles is on yours and have you already done a carbon cleaning(s)?
171k miles. I’m doing carbon cleaning for the first time. But I had a coolant leak 50k miles ago and cleaned egr, cooler, intake and a bunch of other nasty parts.
Question for you: if you do the stage 2 tune with the egr delete is the block off hardware kit necessary? Im under the impression the tune disables the egr? Sorry, new to diesels.
I think it’ll plug up your intake running that much fuel. The soot will build up in the intake faster. I like the block off plates so it stops any soot from going back into the engine. The tune might disable the EGR but is that open or closed, I don’t know.
I don’t have the q7 anymore. It got totaled in a huge wind storm but I have an A6 TDI with the same engine and a stock tune and it’s been great for the last 25k miles. Oil has been cleaner and fuel mileage has been great.
I had 3 check engine lights and spent like 3-4 months in the shop before I did the delete now its been 2 years after I did the delete zero issues no check engine lights
@rthilson that’s awesome. I got an A6 TDI now and I’m waiting to do emissions then I’m gonna delete it. I have all the parts but just waiting for emissions to be done.
Yeah. Basically your car has to be completely stock and the check the ecu for problems and readiness parameters. If all is good then you pass. Required every 2 years.
Thanks for the great video btw. I have a kerma tune from a few years ago and they refused any exhaust mods when I contacted them last week. I still have the handheld tuner and not sure if it can be used by let’s say Malone
I may have some questions for you in the not too distant future. I'm having some problems with my emissions system and I'm not sure replacing the stock components is the correct way to fix the problem, if you know what I mean...
It’s after the resonator in the center of the car. Here’s a link of all the sensors. www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-discussion-112/egt-sensor-4-bank-1-code-3010923/
You have good content buddy. I'm surprised that you don't have more subscribers. Thanks for taking the effort to make these videos. I enjoy them.
Thanks that means a lot.
Great video dude

Hey mate,
Did you end up doing a follow up video. Keen to see how it turned out.
Where you happy with the results?
Cheers

Good informative and tutorial video as always! Keep them coming and many thanks for sharing. Cheers, Mick
Thank you. It’s positive feedback that keeps me posting. I do about 10 other little projects a day that I don’t film.
Sure would like to see you cleaning that up and how to! I have the same suv..

Really good effort mate well done.
Thank you.
Great information man. Thanks for posting.
Rawtek won't sell to you because you live in Cali is prob the issue. Cool video. I'm getting ready to do this in a few months.

Bro i need this in my life i have a 15 tdi and its nasty in there
I bet everyone with GDi (Gas Direct injection) Or DDi (Diesel Direct injection) needs to do this but nobody knows about it until it’s a problem.
You say “again” when talking about your intake being coated with soot. How long had it been since you last cleaned it? How many miles?
35-50k miles.
Thanks for this informative video! Do you have the procedure to take off the intake manifold?
I would also like more information on the intake removal if you have some time. Thanks
@@ajschoneveld I'm sure you can find them on a TDI forum.
Thanks for you video and insight. Were you getting a check engine light prior to the dpf delete? If so, what codes were you getting?
No. Only codes I had were for hvac blower motor.

Hey brother do you have a link or where can I get the EGR block off plate kit?

Hello how reliable has the car been before and after delete

@@Halffast719 we have 2 q7 tdi’s just did the delete on the 2nd one today

It a Crow Foot wrench
Thanks. I knew it would come to me eventually haha.
Did u say you’re in CA? Hows the smog diesel checks there?
Yeah. Basically your car has to be completely stock and the check the ecu for problems and readiness parameters. If all is good then you pass. Required every 2 years.
@@Halffast719 so you put stock dpf back during smog checks?
Yeah
Did you have to do a swirl flap delete?
I did not. My q7 didn’t have them. I believe that’s 2013.5 and older.
Do you still have the cat and block off ? And tune ?
No went with the car.
Will the vehicle go into limp mode with an egr delete and no adjustments to the ecu ?
I believe so.
Thanks for the great video btw.
I have a kerma tune from a few years ago and they refused any exhaust mods when I contacted them last week.
I still have the handheld tuner and not sure if it can be used by let’s say Malone
Thanks. It wouldn’t hurt to ask or there’s tunezilla.

I know exactly what you mean haha. Mine is still in good condition, which is why I removed it before it fails.
@@Halffast719, do you happen to know which EGT sensor is "bank 1 sensor 4"?
It’s after the resonator in the center of the car. Here’s a link of all the sensors.
www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-discussion-112/egt-sensor-4-bank-1-code-3010923/
Where did you get the delete kit?
Got it all from overseas but I don’t have the q7 anymore insurance salvaged it out from a sand/rock storm driving through Nevada.
@@Halffast719Can you tell us the website plz.
is that effect insurance??
Sure is.
Can you do the same to mines
I wish I could do it to everybody’s diesel. Emissions equipment just trashes engines.
