Thanks for the help… A previous video said I could hook up the black and red wire to any one of the black wires in the box. My fan would not work. You specified which black wire went where and that solved my problem… Thank you!

Thank you, I took out a faulty timer and replaced it with a manual switch. Going from 4 wires to 2, I was able to work with your video to see which wires to use.

You need to be doing DIY videos or teaching or something. That explanation on the main hot-wireand the the red wire is what helped me. When I removed the wall plate, I discovered that a couple of wires didn't match ... your explanation saved the day. Thanks!!!

Great video, man. Sounds like you helped a bunch of folks with the same "oh crap" moment I had when I popped the box and saw way more wires than a simple interrupter. Well done!

Thank you for your video. You helped me with identifying the neutral, line and load wires! So far, after watching many videos for this installation, you're the only one that has done that.

Hi There ....I appreciate this video very much - couldn't have installed it without your help. I do have one question though - I would like to set lights to come on at Sundown, and OFF 3 hours later. For the life of me I couldn't get that done. If you could assist would be great. I set all the parameters OK, and could get SUNDOWN as on time, just couldn't figure out to make it so it would go off 3 hours later. Thanks very much.

You would have to switch it to a certain time rather then a end time of sun down or up for example come on a sun up then off at 8 am

Are you able to have the timer turn the lights on at sundown and only stay on for 3 hours after they come on?

  • @abuladula

I must say I like American wall switch box. they are far more versatile than British tiny square boxes that doesn't allow for well designed timers like this one on this video to be installed.
The timers we have are not nice to look at although a handful do exist that look ok but charge you extortionate amount.
I'm having to do whole new wiring for something as simple as a timer.

He's using Robertson screws so it's most likely a Canadian wall switch, though they're prob the same lol

This device is NOT a dimmer. You don't even know what your are installing so you have lost all credibility.
