  • The BMW F800S has filled the space between the marque's 650 motorcycles and 1200 motorcycles with power, style and charisma. In this week's road test, Dave and our guest tester Ellen Foster take a look at this great sports version.

I really liked Ellen's testimony. I found it funny that she looked quiet at first, but, once she got to talking, she was enthusiastic and said so much about the bike! Furthermore, the video has definitely encouraged me into further consideration of the bike.

Since I have that bike i can say all that Ellen said is true. This motorcycle has a lot of good sides and not many flaws.
+ Good torque and power, even for track days, great handling and super sharp brakes. Its comfortable and looks good, especially looking from behind. Belt drive is quiet and no need for grease.
    - Brakes are difficult to dose in no abs models, they catch very strong. Front of the bike could be better looking. Fuel injectors are bit too loud.

I can't quite get over the sound of the bike. Parallel twins are the Wonder bread of engines as is, but somehow BMW managed to make the engine sounds like abstinence.

@@sarahdell4042 They are quite light when compared to the competition. In addition they have a low center of mass.

Why would a good amount of torque not allow sixth gear to be easily used at reasonable speeds? Maybe this lady it's used to more revvy machinery?
I've ridden smaller capacity machines that can happily move along in top gear at 30mph with no issues.

@@rajanbir9764 Because the guy mentioned that it's not friendly towards larger individuals and I've been looking for something along these lines for a bike.

I'm sure the bike is excellent but the looks have not grown on me. Not uninspired, but not attractive ether.....
