      Any material that has stretch is much easier to wrap corners, the material I was using has no stretch to speak of and is very difficult to work with.

  • @Rokynutz
    @Rokynutz Před 3 lety +1

    Any videos of doing a inside corner? Really liked this way of doing vs the ungodly amount of hack jobs out there. This technique keeps water 100% away from the cut ends.

    • @watermann8200
      @watermann8200  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks. About the only way I know of doing inside corners is to cut a V in the material at the corner, fold under, staple and then trim it entirely with aluminum or similar angle or channel stock. For my boats I buy the Tempress hatches that cover the deck cut out to avoid the inside corner dilemma. .

    I'm using a 1/4" board, I have to glue it. Unless they make a very small staple. Do they?

    • @watermann8200
      @watermann8200  Před 3 měsíci +1

    why wouldn't you simply continue the initial cut all the way through so that entire piece was off, then just staple the two remaining sides?

    How you do it with fiberglass lids?

    • @watermann8200
      @watermann8200  Před měsícem

      I think you'd have to use adhesive on the vinyl to adhere to the hatch cover. I would think paint with non-skid additive would be much easier and not as prone to failure on glass.
