So that's how a girl out sings and entire orchestra/band. She said, hold my microphone while I carry my voice across this room.

This and the Welcome Home Heroes concert are for sure my favorite performances of All the Man That I Need 😍 My Man made me realize I want an album of Whitney singing songs from film and stage musicals, but I'll always have the Rodgers & Hammerstein Cinderella she co-produced and starred in!

@@TreMcLeod_You do realize that Lover Man and My Man were songs the late great Billie Holiday sung long before Barbara right? This performance was so epic. Whitney in the early 90’s was untouchable. She could do any and everything with her voice. One of my favorite performances of All The Man I Need is in Japan where she’s wearing a red dress (not the performance during Welcome Hone Hero’s) she add libs so effortlessly on that performance.

Dionne warwick and whitney are first cousins. Dionne would take whitney on tours with her when whitney was a child. Dionne mother and whitneys mother are sisters. A long line of singers. Cissy houston has sing background for elvis aretha chaka luther stevie and so many others. Whitney provided background vocals at the age of 14 for chaka khans im every woman whitney her mother cissy and luther also provided background vocals throughout a few of chaka khans albums. The high note you hear on arethas aint no way is cissy houston. Whitneys mother

Low key she was letting the industry know and the fans know that no one was taking her spot, and no one can sing like her, this was a year or so after she was booed by the soul train for being too pop and winning too much and crossing over too much, and Mariah had came in being touted as a more soulful version of her! Mariah was there that night too, she won the pop awards Whitney did the assignment and won all the RNB awards as she wanted to. That's why she said a shout out to her back audience!

Her discipline, craft and training, yes, but also her grooming; she wasn't like alot of other really talented singers because from birth she was surrounded by music royalty. Her mother was a vocal legend who performed with big artists like Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, and in some cases brought Whitney along with her to the studio. Her cousin was Dionne Warwick, and Luther Vandross was a colleague of her mothers. She was groomed for this. Plus, she didn't live too far from New York City, which at the time, was the musical capital of the world, and so made the acquaintance of acts like Jennifer Holliday and Phyllis Hyman. Whitney Houston was talented, and she had been given a gift, but lets be real- she was a nepo baby. How could she not be a star?

EXACTLY! Talent is not all that matters in the industry. Probably there were/are people in the world more talented than her, Aretha, Barbra, Mariah and so on that will never see a spolight of a big stage turned to them because they don’t have the means to construct a successful career in the music scenario. All these people from the league Whitney’s also in are unbelievably talented, but ee can’t forget they were lucky to be where things happen too. It’s not a surprise that the most successful artists in the world are americans or britains… In Whitney’s case, she was double lucky to be born in the biggest musical market and also for having a well-known musical family which had big people from the industry in contact them..

@@renanrpm Mariah does not belong in that list. Everyone knows she is a fraud live. Everything she has out is doctored.
Every time she fraudulently creeps on any list (always behind Aretha and Whitney) people challenge why she is there.
I have seen anyone challenge an aretha or a whitney, never, always Mariah. There are tons of youtube clips of people challenging why she is put on any list.
