  • Taking a look at my scx24 “Dig Rig” how to make your own. This was actually a very simple install and so far is an amazing little rig to drive. It totally changes the feel of the SCx24! It has to be one of my most capable trucks as well!

    I don’t know if you have fixed the power issue yet or if you will even see this comment but I believe the power problem is caused by the one battery split into 2 esc’s. It’s like running each of the esc’s on 1 cell opposed to 2 cell. Perhaps using two battery’s, one into each esc would give it more speed and power.

    Also try removing your springs to crawl better and a 3 or 4 channel micro plane reciver will shave some weight.. if you reverse your polarity on your front motor , might keep the programming more simple, then adjust your transmitter settings to less expo, with increased throttle trim on your front tires will help as well. So your front tires engage first , have more wheel speed then. Your rear wheels.. that should really help for crawling.? This dig is cool on that scale, but if you play with your pals, then set a faster wheel speed in front and you will be out performing your friends rigs pretty easy

As far as the dig goes one of my jeeps has an atlas 4speed tcase. It allows for front wheel drive with three different low reduction ratios and 2w rear also selectable ratios and 4wd but can still have different ratios or the same if needed. I made my own links for mine and extended it quite a bit so I haven’t had any issue. If the driveshaft is popping out it’s either too short or you’re getting way too much travel from the shocks and may need some limit straps or something. I had to lengthen my shafts also. I’m running the long driveshaft front and rear. Hope this helps!

      The ones I’m running on this rig are the rc4wd competition beadlocks. The only thing I don’t 100% like about them is they don’t use a hex. They mount to the pins only. They work fine but it’s just an odd design to me.

      @@justinperkins1971 it’s supposed to be basically a direct swap with a deadbolt. You flip the front links to the rear and the rear to the front. I didn’t care for the way it sat in that setup so I did make my own links to make it much longer. So I also had to use a longer driveshaft.

      I’ve been wondering about these and how much they’d help. I had planned on ordering another dig setup and just building another as I’m too lazy to pull this one apart for testing 😂 There was a bunch of those motors on eBay. Have you ran any of them? Curious how much more power they would have.

    • @shaunwiegert
      @shaunwiegert Před 3 lety

      This motor might fit the bill to install the gear reduction onto. So I would get the 2000 rpm gear reducers and use a much better motor like these to get better power and resolution.

      @@2fmrc Honestly, I just got my scx24 a few weeks ago. My 2 girls just got theirs for xmas. In time I plan to build a fully custom SCX24 rig. I have several irons in the fire with 1/10th scale stuff. I have a pretty bad ass capra and trx4 that is complete. I am 80% finished with my toyzuki v2.5 and I got a Holmes Hobbies Sherpa expert kit to build for xmas. I just spent about $320 in tires, wheels and weights to get these up and going better. I dropped about $80 at Full Send's doorstep for some great brass parts. That was after the 15% discount. Thank you very much for that.
