There are a lot of Kpop groups wherein a member/s did not renew a contract/left the group. There is a 7-year curse in Kpop industry which some Kpop groups disbands at their 7th year or almost at their 7th year. That is why having the WHOLE group renewed their contract in a company is very important for all Kpop fans/stans. Usually if a group renewed their contract will extend with another 5-6 years and after that 5-6 years the group will decide again if they will extend their contract for the 2nd time and so on and so fort. There are only few groups that renewed their contract as a WHOLE group like Twice, Seventeen and BTS (these are some of the famous groups that were confirmed to renewed their contract as a whole group in the same company they have debuted)

Agree with everything except the renewing contract usually is 3 years instead of 5-6 years. Because reaching 10 years is a huge milestone. But yea, it’s huge whenever a big group all renew like BTS and seventeen and Twice.

there are some groups where some members renew but some don’t but still stay in the group. for exemple mamamoo’s hwasa, moonbyul and solar renewed their contract in 2021 but wheein signed with another company for her solo activities but she’s still in the group. earlier this year, hwasa signed with another company too, but just like wheein she’s still in the group
