From putting on the horses saddles', to giving them a pre-dance run, it's a long process to get the horses ready.
A lot of hard work goes into this training. It takes about four years to train a horse these moves but the love Perez has for his horses and seeing the people's reaction during his shows makes it all worth it.

I find it hilarious that there is no evidence of this particular man doing anything wrong to his horses, and your all still shouting abuse. Go look at the Spanish riding school in Vienna, their horses do similar movements but its classier and done to classical music.
The movements they do are called piaffes, not this shit. jūggboigio Of you actually know how they train this horse, then you wouldn’t be happy with this. They whip them while they’re tied up on the spot between two pillars to make them trot on the spot, then they whip the front legs to make the horse lift its legs higher, trying to escape the pain. They also eventually put chains on the legs so when the horse trots on the spot, the chains hits its legs, making them go side by side. The amount of clueless people in this comment section, I swear.
@@whyamidizzy8694 That's horrible! Horses are magnificent animals. Watch them when they're at a full run. You can see the muscles in their bodies flow with the movement and you know they're enjoying themselves. No animal deserves to be mistreated for the sake of fame and glory for their person.

Girl. Horses are trained to do this by being tied up and whipped. I’ve been riding for 7 years. It’s so obvious they are being abused. The owner might pet and love them, but they also use spiky spurs and harsh bits.
I love how people are talking about how this is not abuse and that we should know more about horses. This is called charro riding and it is 100% abuse. These types of people tie their horses to stand still with chains on their legs. Then, these people tell the horses to trot forward with whips. Out of fear of the whip, the horse starts to trot forward but the cross ties stop them. The horse trots in place and the chains bang down on the horses legs. This can be really painful for the horse, and they start to lift their legs higher. When you train your horse to do this, you get nothing but a fake piaffe that is only done out of fear. A real piaffe takes months even years to master, and it looks way better. The horse will usually do a real piaffe out of positive reinforcement. #stophorseabuse
It’s not horse abuse. It’s a cultural thing and there is a right way and a wrong way. There is NO evidence of horse abuse. Horses dance like other animals do if they’re trained. There are cats, dogs, birds, etc to train for talents and entertainment
I love when ignorant people make the "chain" on their feet comments THE CHAIN DOESNT HURT THE HIRSE NOT A SINGLE BIT nor do they use the chains to tie down the horse I've seen people use tennis balls on a string for the sensitive people that think a little metal bracelet hurts the horse
@@FrankieG713 Maybe you don’t pay attention enough. Not everyone uses chains or a single bit. I don’t agree with that either, but there are trainers who use two tools: 1) A clicker to teach a horse to lift a leg and 2 ) Mints or other treats.

I’m against abuse too, but you must understand that It’s part of the Hispanic culture to celebrate their heritage and be proud of it. Not all trainers train the same. There are different ways to train and there nothing wrong with teaching a horse to dance if it’s done the right way without stressing the horse out. Do some research on the history of the culture.
@@Horselover48466 There’s actually a good amount of body language in the dance showing nervousness. quick, stiff movements. The horse is visibly uncomfortable. I don’t necessarily believe there is a right way to train this but thank you for ur opinion:)

I see all these comments about abuse. For one they did not show him doing much actual training. Just judging by what I saw however I saw not a man abusing horses but a good communicator a gentle hand. His horse does not look panic stricken in fact what I saw was a calm well balanced horse. He was doing quite a lovely passage and piaffe. I get tired of assumptions and dressage purest s and their word vomit. I'm sure those who train at the Spanish riding school would have something to say about "modern" dressage. Go educate yourselves. Do not lump everyone together. It takes about 4 years... For specific training the man is not competing in a dressage show. And I will remind everyone just because you don't understand it it does not constitute abuse. I have seen good and bad from Mexican dancing horse trainers all the way up to Olympic level dressage. And yet the founding fathers of dressage the Spanish riding school couldn't compete and win in todays arenas on their frumpy little white stallions. The fact that every single horse that is "dancing" in this video has half-pinned ears and triangular eyes is awful! If I have learned one thing from watching tonnes of Raleigh Link videos, it's that triangular eyes mean that the horse is in pain. It doesn't even look like dancing!! It just looks like hurting abused horses being pushed to do stuff that is horrible!! The owners are stupid, irresponsible, cruel, abusers, and freakin' idiots, and they should be put in jail for this stuff and be banned from horses. I would NEVER make a horse do anything like this. @@Fernandoh183 tradition doesn’t make it right. Same with us Americans the horse races are really bad for horses it’s definitely worse than the dancing not no doubt. But it’s hard on horses to to have that much pressure on his mouth. They’re have been a lot of ppl I’ve seen who do these dances and when their horse made a mistake during the performance he whipped the horse, not with a crop but a wip with metal bits on the end. And he very roughly pulled on the Tom bit in the horses the reared which made person whip him again and then the horse flipped over. So I can’t even think about what tHey do to the horse when ppl aren’t around. But I’m sure most ppl aren’t like this and they love and respect their horses, at least I hope they do. I see it as animal abuse if you have to use a whip to make the horse do it and if they don’t like it. But if they will willing to work with you and are fine with it then it’s not abuse. And as long as there is no pain involved that’s fine. I really wish they stopped the racing though it’s so unhealthy for them and they are in pain being pushed unnaturally to run full speed and being whipped while doing it, it’s so wrong.
