The voice, the recipe… You’re a legend, Stanley.
It's ai
Dang, I can listen to that voice for hours.
@@AttitudeIndicator
I'm already tiring of that.
@@AttitudeIndicator Its an audiobook
the tooch! the king!!
So.. it's basically a simpler shakshuka?
Or maybe... A recipe from a guy who used to eat that with his dad?
Where’s the paprika 😭
Yes
Lol 😂
agree paprika is superior to onions in this recipe. Onions mellow out the tanginess of tthe tomatoes and throw off the balance of the dish@@demelkon
That was exactly what I was going to write!
My Greek Mom used to make this dish regular on Weekends for Brunch when I was a little kid back in the 60’s …brought back old Memories! 😋
With lots of feta cheese 😉
My kids' favorite
Σαν τον καγιανά δεν έχει.
It’s Arabic. Shakshookah broseph
He sounds like an audio book my class would read in first grade, amazing
Stanley Tucci is a man amongst boys. Truly a man of distinction.
I could listen to him talk all day, so soothing 🎵
This video is stolen from "Andy Cooks"
Very poor behaviour.
Edit. Oops...apologies mate
He abandoned his dying wife.
To you maybe 😂🌽🏀
@@CombatMosquitoTrainer mind your own business
Looks great. Nothing beats simplicity and quality ingredients. I love the North African version of this dish called shakshuka. It includes red bell peppers, crushed red chili and cumin. I like to finish with crumbled Feta, a drizzle of olive oil and freshly chopped parsley or cilantro...So DELICIOUS!
I totally agree!!! Love the feta cheese in shakshuka. We start with pan frying a sliced up chorizo until the slices are crispy and add these as a topping at the end. The grease from the chorizo is used to fry the onions and no added oil is needed.
First thought that came to my mind... its a naked shakshuka!
Came here to say this is basically a really simplified shakshuka. God, that’s a fun word to say. Shakshuka.
Try it with sliced fried pepperoni on top you won’t regret it !!
@@atmosphereandocean That sounds like a great addition to any Shakshuka really!
Looks like a mild, simplified shakshuka
Yes, that schmuck proudly reinvented shakshuka. Soon he will be sharing gefilte fish recipe)
I love Stanley Tucci ❤ and his recipes
The narration sounds like a wildlife documentary from Animal Planet 😂😂😂
Love that voice ❤
no it doesnt, both the tone and voice couldnt be further from that. his tone is giving out instructions (that never happens in wildlife commentary) and his voice is more of a war or just other type of documentaries.
fr it’s so calming ☺️
Love Stanley Tucci!
Me 3 💓🥰
We all do
Gorgeous book with Gorgeous recipes.
I love Stanley Tucci man - I've done my own variation of this dish, sometimes it's called Eggs in Purgatory! I know there's different recipes and names for it from Spain, Africa, Italy, and probably more elsewhere too!
In Arab countries we call it shakshouka
It's a much worse version of the original tunisian shakshuka
Add green chilli pepper after onions and before tomatoes...there you have Turkish breakfast wonder; MENEMEN 🤤
Menemen needs cheese too, no?
With some feta cheese and red pepper
I prefer this better
@@uansari1 Usually, not. There is, however, a debate in Türkiye over whether or not to add onions. Similar, I suppose, to the debate in Spain over whether onions should be included in a Spanish tortilla.
Αχ καημένη Μενεμένη. In fact was a Greek Minor Asia dish, but....
❤ this format
Love Stanley
We call them “eggs in Purgatory”.
😂😂, Where's that?
@@kehsaem In Brazil though the name originated in Italy.
Italian eggs. I add a few cloves garlic with the onions, some fresh basil.
Eggs purgatory?
Doesn't need it....
id definitely be adding a dash of parmesan on top of that.
@calldomdatallc7001 uova in purgatorio
@calldomdatallc7001 uova in purgatorio, come no?
Thank you Andy 😊 Thank you Stanley 😊
How did I not pick up on that being Stanley Tucci. Now I can't unhear his voice.
We call it "uova in purgatorio" in Italy. It's probably one of my favorites recipes because it's simple, quick and has overall good macros
As long as you're not counting carbs, then, yes. One of the most disappointing things to learn is that tomatoes have more carbs than you would think. Still, a very healthy dish nonetheless.
@@ladyraven3418 absolutely. Tomatoes are fruits, and like most fruits they're high in carbs.
@@ladyraven3418christ have mercy, it's a tomato. I'm ripped and eat pasta daily. Never counted a macro. Portion control, people. And eat your veggies.
@@cyprus6731how big is your portion please ? How many a day ? I have slow metabolism and non active and i eat only once a day and still chubby (183CM / 88KG)
I just was going to say my Italian grandfather made this called eggs in purgatory
Yes.. this is shakshuka but no paprika. Lebanon people eat this.
I also learn how to cook egg and tomato but chinese version, delicious with rice.
Same as Iranian "omelette", ours just doesn't *usually* have onions.
Can you link to the Chinese version (or just post the name of it)? Sounds delicious
@@lambda_calc
Im not being snarky, but just type in eggs and tomatoes Chinese version in the search box. That is what I did, and found several good ones.
@@DavidAlexander-iy9uu thanks, was thinking there was a version more like the one shown above (as more of a sauce with soft yolk eggs) but the style with scrambled eggs with chunks of tomato look good too
@Threepwoodd The chinese version is a scrambled/stir-fry styled egg and tomato dish, actually, not eggs cooked in tomatoes and sauce. There's also several different variations to this style depending on where it's from. Different parts of china and neighboring asian countries all prepare them differently.
My favorite snack from now on
Nice and simple, a winner 👍
In Saudi we call it بيض عيون which translates to eyes eggs.
Adding two green chillies "unchopped" and some chopped cilantro to the sauce or as a garnish is a must!
على كيفك اسمها شكوكه
It's so similiar to hebrew "beitsat ayin"
ביצת עין just means sunny side up eggs, doesn't it?@@user-xp2it1hh6s
@@Faisal-rp2zkyep, shakshuka.
The rest of you guys are lost.
Out of curiosity, do you pronounce it عَ or عِ for عيون?
Thank you for making this, Andy! I hear Stanley Tucci recite that recipe in my sleep! (I’ve listened to it about 14 times now. His book is excellent!)
Finally YT shows me good stuff ♥️
easily the most relevant ad placement from audible ive ever heard
Love Stanley Tucci❤ Thanks Andy for sharing the recipe & cooking it for us❤
Love this shakshuka. Call it what it is, Stanley! We love u and Andy.
There are many different countries and cultures that have dishes like this . People were cooking eggs in tomatoes before tomatoes even existed in Africa.
This dish was common in the Americas long before shakshuka was a thing.
I’m not sure why you think eggs cooked in tomatoes is only a shakshuka dish as if that was an original idea.
Israeli food ..
This is an Italian recipe, not shakshuka 😊
@@lara_d.6184lookup the recipe of shakshuka
We have this in Turkey too, we call it "Menemen".
It is menemen or
Shakshuka that they are trying to make bougie by adding kosher salt to it and changing the name!!!!
@@poppyali2510 ypu know Europa have similar food? Don't try to make everything yourself, Europeans don't like that. Just a friendly advice
This looks soo good an simple👌
Yes yes yes!! I'm going to try this!!
This is Eggs in Purgatory (Uova in Purgatorio), and it's one if my favorites to use with left-over tomato sauce from the previous day.
That's how Italians call shakshuka?
@@audacity1375well it’s a different thing, similar dishes though
I love that name!
Thats what I wanted to write, although I would add chilli with the onions for the purgatory flames
OMG😊😊😊
❤love this recipe.. easy n healthy.. thanks bro ..😊
Tucci Gang !!!
This is really good 😋 I tried it
I didn't know what was going on here for a second. I thought someone stole Andys video 🤦♂️
Love the change up and voice over of Stan while Andy is cooking - more of this please!
I'm sprinkling pecorino and parmesan and adding aromat, vegeta and kucharek seasoning too
Maybe a dash of adobo too
My every Sunday breakfast growing up. Great job Andy
This is an Italian recipe: uova al Purgatorio, typical from South Italy. Smart Stanley 😂❤
I only knew this as a north African dish called shakshouka. They add more spices.
It’s Mexican 🤷🏻♀️except we use fresh tomatoes and some serranos 😅 of course we eat it in a tortilla. Just kidding. I’m sure so many cultures have a version of this recipe. 🍅🧅🌶️🌶️🥚
Gonna have that for breakfast tomorrow.
Genius..
Truly transcendent intelligence with this recipe..
If u add red chilli powder and green chillies on top it ll be a pakistani egg curry that I love for breakfast
I'm never fought of listening to a cookbook
Thank you❤
Stanley Tucci 🔥😍 and what a recipe too!
I had this this morning. It’s amazing!

Love this 😍😍😍
The phone near the gas stove gave me anxiety though 😅😅😅
Family, love, food.
I just blew my GM's mind with this at a fine dining resturant where I'm the head prep cook. He loves eggs and he asked me what CZcams video it was and I sent it to him. It blew him away. This is my dream job as I have no formal training but cooking for my friends and loved one for over 30 years. I'm serve safe manager qualified, and the rest is all trial and Era, and the Era comes on my own time and dime, and the rest has been Knowledge through CZcams. Always remain teachable. Cheers to you both and thank you both, this was so simple and tastes amazing.
Just a heads up, its "trial and error" not "trial and era" 😊

Best video av seen on the internet by far
This brings me back. My mom used to make this. Yummy. People im america generally think you're insane when you eat this.
Maroccan it it but we add garlic and cumin red pepper spicy and salt and fresh coriander
Damn how many people have you met “In America”? The way you say that makes it seem like you must have met a great sample size and asked all of them if they like this dish…seems a little unrealistic.
