Isn't "E- Recycle (+X Cells)" on the left side of the screen means that you can sell the unused organs? You often had just few dozens of cells missing for upgrade you really wanted and heap of unused organs, and I always wondered if you didn't sell organs because you didn't see it or if it does something else.

I think since the point of the video was to showcase the game, and not actually min max, he was leaving those available so when something new came up it could be connected to multiple things.
But it could also be streamer blindness.
Ok, this is a very good game! the idea of programable attacks does set this game apart from the competition. It gives a whole new dimention to the game which is rather interesting. It no longer is just about hoping to get the right weapon or the right passive and instead becomes a thinking man's game where you are not only looking for certain things for your build, but actively considering how you can mix max what you have going and get chains off chains off chains.
I think I have to give this one a go, it is tickling my brain quite a bit.
remember, don't put stuff to far from your brain, it gets less fertility

This is a memorable game, and it feels like there is even more content to fuel the combinatorial explosion potential every time I see a video on this!

BTW, you can see your cell counter during fighting in the bottom left.
I am sure someone already pointed it out in the comments, but when you are short on cells you can recycle some of the organs you are not using

Aavak, you missed that you can recycle organs to get bonus cells...
Two things!
First: in case you wonder, this game's genre is "Bullet Heaven" (you might see it called other things since it's rather new and no particular name has been universally accepted, but I think Bullet Heaven is the most descriptive).
Second: "insufficient frequency" pops up when the previous organ doesn't have enough _duration_ for the following one to trigger.
Say for example you have a tentacle that shoots a projectile which lasts 0.5 seconds, and you connect it to a spine that triggers every 1 second. The spine will trigger _from_ the projectile, so in this case the projectile would expire before the spine has add time to trigger.

I'm guessing its bullet heaven because the enemies are dodging your bullets instead of you dodging your enemies' bullets?
Looks like a fun game. Bit more complex than I like my games because of my smooth brain. But that puts it perfectly in the "games I'd rather watch" category! Would definitely be interested in at least another video of this

This game reminds me a lot of Noita, where you get spells and wands, and they have effects of quite a variety, including splitting chaining, etc...

It reminds me a lot of vampire survivors, although it could just be due to both games being in the same genre.

Game seems really cool and complicated really a game to get lossed in as you try different combinations learning what works what doesn’t

I would say this game is more of a Brotato had a child with Noita, given Noita you can customize your wands to make incredible combos and chains.
Stomach of the Duck is amazing for linking to a Tentacle of the Dragon or similar.
Whenever I play a game like this my plan is to make a bullethell for my enemies

Thoroughly enjoyed your entire presentation of this game in this video. So much so, that the game has been purchased. It's cheap enough at the min as well.
I wouldn't say this is the offspring of Spore, it's more like Spore's sickly younger brother Thrive. Although Thrive is on an internal hex grid for it's organelles rather than a line.

so basically vampire survivors and carrion combined
out of curiosity, a few times when we were just short, i noticed that we could have recycled a few organs to get to the cost threshold, is that not an option?
this game looks a fun, like, rearrangements and sorting experiment piece. almost, in its own way, like the backpack one.
minute 1:12:19 the limb of the giant doing the funny number dmg
went to wishlist the game because of this video, but after seeing the price skipped that and bought the game xD
first win (albeit stage 0) I got lucky and was using exclusively the " trigger right when left hits an enemy" triggers and weapons that can hit as much enemies as possible in a big chain reaction... on 3 brains with 9 capacity each, and they were all using the fastest type of spine as well :)
Game looks that it gets kind of complicated when you get up to multi-brains with lots of parts but still quite interesting.

It's so interesting from other bullet hell games it surprises since I've learned three code languages if you like this game code languages it's close to reminds me of blueprint code languages its my 4th language I'm learning and unreal engine uses that language you should look up a how to learn it with unreal if you want to see what I mean

Is there a reason you didn't recycle unused organs to further upgrade yourself?
Much like biology itself, it's both nonsensical and has a very long learning curve. Not sure I've got the time to invest in this right now, but I'm looking forward to watching this title as it updates. hope you keep an eye on it for us!

Funky. These Brotato/Vampire Survivor games are really gaining traction... I smell someone fabricating a framework and selling it on Unity store... THAT said, interesting, even if it still is kinda... simple? Just starting to feel flat and same-y to me.
There's another one of these with a more character-focused look to it... the FX in it are more splashy, but use hard blacks on grays, color and dithering to make seeing easier to see, and prettier, imo. "20 Minutes Till Dawn". Early Access, so, grain of salt. But a ton of work in it for just $5, you know?

Before I watch the video im going to succumb to the urge to share my (probably autistic based) gripe with the term "Bullet Heaven" for these games.
Firstly, Bullet Heaven is a game that is a bullet hell.
And appropriately, that leads into the fact that all the major gameplay components of these games are bullet hell ones.
You still have a screen full of moving objects, with varying movement patterns, that you have to avoid letting touch you while you navigate trying to collect power ups and the such.
Vampire survivors, brotato and such, are just auto attacker bullet hells and not really a completely new genre, and even if you wanted to name the niche overlap of genres, arena fighters or such would be a more appropriate name.

How is this a roguelite? It has nothing to do with rogue. It is a vampire survivors clone.
Vampire Survivors is a roguelite, therefore if this is a clone then it is a roguelite as well.
