Shoe wise, for stage attire I like the wrestler boxer esq shoe. They tend to have a lot of support around the ankles, a good grip at the bottom and they feel like socks. The only thing is I love a really good boot. In real life I’m like 5’6 5’8 depending on the angle. But on stage and film , I’m like 5’10. So, I like something with a little bit of heel, either on the shoe or like an elevated in sole. Just to keep the alignment right and fill out the attire. Because at the end of the day, I like a lean muscular athletic frame but I’m only like 155. So, I don’t want to be on stage looking like I’m wearing my older bothers shorts. Which has been the case from time to time
Music or performing is not like boxing or fighting. A lot of times in music , especially with commentators , they try and make music business like a sport instead of this celebrity gossip culture. But, it’s not a sport. When I get on stage in front of thousands of people i become a maestro it is about orchestrating this entire arena to focus on one thing. I’m not trying to hurt anybody. I’m not trying to win anything. I’m not trying to score any points. I’m just trying to capture your attention for an hour or two entertain sndbhoepefully either make you forget about your problems or inspire you to get up another day and face your problems head on. Sports. Fighting. It’s about how much stuff can you pack in one punch. It’s not so much orchestration as it is poetry in motion. I think the two genres are similar in that they both compete for the attention of a select few but in music my only security is based on whether someone liked me or not not like sports where it’s who performed best.
