  • This is the new De’Longhi PrimaDonna Soul, it’s a fully automatic bean-to-cup coffee machine with Bean Adapt Technology. It’s by far one of the easiest coffee machines I’ve ever set up and used, and it connects to my phone using the De’Longhi Coffee Link App for more ease of use.
    [AD] This video was made in partnership with De'Longhi
    Find out more here: amzn.to/2J5AQAn
    In the box, you have everything you need to get started, you will just need some milk, water, and coffee beans or ground coffee. You have the De’LonghiPrimaDonna Soul itself, a 3-pin power cord, cleaning brush, descaling spout, descaler, water softener filter, coffee pot, Total hardness test indicator paper, and a milk container which is detachable so you can put in the fridge once done making coffee. A closer look at the Milk container, and you’ll notice the froth level dial and you can take the lid off to clean the milk intake tube and you can also remove the milk container connector too. You can also adjust the Milk Sprout for the size of the cup you’re using.
    On the right side of the PrimaDonna Soul, you can slide out the water tank and insert the water softener filter, fill it up to the max line and slide it back in. While I have it out, you can also see the removable infuser. To the front, you have a 4,3” TFT full touch Colour display, below the display, you have a spout door with a slider, to the right of it, the coffee and hot water spout with an adjustable height. You can also remove the front cover to reveal the sprout so you can take it out for cleaning. Going further down, we have the coffee grounds container that you can pull out to empty and the drip tray. The drip tray has a water level indicator and when you remove the whole thing, you have a condensate tray.
    On top of the PrimaDonna Soul, there’s a coffee cup tray, Pre-ground coffee measure and underneath it is the pre-ground coffee funnel that’s removable. Moving on, you have a beans container and the power button next to the pre-ground coffee area. On the back, you have the power connecting and a popout power button.
    Now onto the setup process. Once you have some water in the tank, milk in the milk container, and coffee beans in the coffee beans container, power it on. You will need to insert the descaling spout first so put the milk container aside for now. When you press the power on, the screen activates and you will need to select your language preference, press OK, and the machine will fill the water circuit. It sounds loud as it’s the first time you’re switching it on, then it gets quieter. Delonghi says you will need to make 4 to 5 cups of cappuccinos before the results become satisfactory. Once you have finished with the initial setup, store the descaling sprout safely as you will need it for regular cleaning maintenance. Now you can insert the milk container and finish the rest of the setup process. One thing I really like here in the packaging is the beans selection cards which let you choose the right beans for your settings, like I’m using medium coffee beans here, and for the pre-ground coffee, I have medium to dark. Next is to download the Coffee Link App, register, login, and on the machine go into connectivity settings to activate WiFi and remote control for the App to recognise the PrimaDonna Soul.
    The De’Longhi PrimaDonna Soul is super easy to use; on the digital display, you can select from the 19 options preloaded on there. If you decide to make a latte or cappuccino, PrimaDonna Soul comes with De’Longhi’s LatteCrema system, so all you have to do is select the froth level and you get the best milk foam possible with the perfect density, creaminess, at the perfect temperature and for convenience, the froth adjustment and clean is now automatic. In terms of milk compatibility, you can use non-dairy alternatives such as Soy, Rice, and Almond too.
    On the main screen, you will notice the headshot icon, and tapping that will reveal up to 5 profiles so, in a household of people with different preferences, you can all create your profiles. You will also notice the Bean Adapt Technology button and what this does is adjust grinding level, dosing, and temperature of extraction for each coffee type you have selected. The machine basically adapts to your bean to match the coffee selected. Using the Coffee Link app, you are able to adjust the Bean Adapt settings yourself, so you can adjust the aroma and strength or let the machine do it all for you. Delonghi’s Coffee Link App also lets you select a coffee you want, create your own, change settings and it’s very smooth. The coffee that you’ve created also gets added to the main selection which makes it easier to select each time.

    How hot are the milk-based drinks? A lot of people say that the milk system is lukewarm, what is your experience? If you could measure the temp. that would be great, for the latte and the cappuccino. Would you recommend this model over the PrimaDonna Elite Experience that has the advantage of making hot chocolate and cold drinks?

    Hey, great video!
    I'm looking at this one myself. The mug to go feature seems great because I fill a thermos every morning before work, could you tell me when you press the "+" button under it if you can program a certain amount of coffee to go with the specific volume your thermos can handle.
    For example if my thermos holds 450ML, could I program the mug to go for 450ML, save the profile and every morning make a 450ML thermos of coffee or would I need to make multiple coffees to get to that volume ?
    I haven't found an answer online or on the user manual I've found online, I would greatly appreciate the help.
    How are you getting along with the machine 3 weeks later?
    Thanks

      @GadgetsBoy  Před 3 lety

      Hi, thanks. So you will have to do the amount you need, I can’t see any way to program it to fill how much you want. I’m still loving it and it’s replaced my dianamica plus, only thing that’s annoying is I get through the water tank to quickly lol so I have to keep refilling it
