Heroism (level 3) should get a mention too + 2 morale to attack, saves, skill checks for 10 min/level with the mythic feats you can turn this into a 24 hour buff
But then again youd be spending 2 mythic slots on that. These spells come in minutes per level usually. Abundand spells and off you go. Rebuff as needed
Being evocation wizard you can change the elements of spells to focus on one element. And elemental blood sorcerer can do the same. Turn that chain lightning into fire damage and go full fire focus with ascendant elements
what i normally do is boost my stuff up so iv got full on illusion and transmutation maxed then i go with insert element and add expanded school to hit and pick up the evocations i want then by about mid way through the abyss your strength hits a breakpoint and you can illusion kill anything and things that are immune you blast into next week with evocation or turn them into a sheep
Good video! Just wanted to add that some of the buffs from the Arcane spellbook (like shield, true strike, mirror image, geniekind, angelic aspect, seamantle and more) are self buffs only so they are good only for melee sorcerers or can be given to your party by a Brown Fur Transmuter (Arcanist subclass that specialize in buffing).
Reduce Person is actually best for spellcasters, because being small doesnt affect your spells in the slightest, AND you get all of the bonuses. Its good.
alot of the buffs can be made into potions btw, so you can 'store' your spell essentially, while someone else crafts scrolls. but something like haste will be single target as a potion.
The only type of spells I tend to avoid are the enchantment spells. I play on Core/Hard and I find that the stats of the various enemies, on average, are just too high to penetrate. I may get a sleep/Slumber/confusion etc off once every 10 tries. It's a shame as I'd love to play an enchantment focussed arcane trickster
Displacement is "better" in that it has a higher %...however Blur is better to cast before going into a zone/dungeon because it lasts 1/minute a level rather than 1 rd a level... pros and cons, would you rather get jumped without a dodge chance or WITH a dodge chance?
Btw in kingmaker when I level linzi & harrim and want one or both of them to summon monsters & learn the conjuration school, is it worth it to specialize & greater specialize in conjuration?
@@KOWAL19898 To be more specific, the summoning feats are Augment Summon and Superior Summoning. They add stats to summoned monsters and let you summon one more than usual. To access those feats you need Spell Focus Conjuration first. The Greater Spell focus feat does nothing for summoning, but is still useful if they are using other conjuration school spells like Web or Grease.
I would not take those with Linzi. She doesn't get enough summon spells to really make a difference through them. Harrim isn't a bad idea. But best option, is to make a merc or PC as Herald Caller. You get those feats for free, and your summons will be amazing.
Lol at you lowballing weird, the literal most overpowered spell in the whole game. Any illusion specialist focused on save DCs instantly end any encounter with that. Even when the enemy is immune to instant kills they still get stunned. Its so broken I stopped playing Nenio in my party cause she was sucking the fun out of the game.
lol, if I need to explain why an AOE spell that insta kills enemies is a good choice I am genuinely worried about the future of humanity. It was mentioned "as an obvious choice for anyone specialized in illusion" though, which I think did it justice.
@@mariuszcerta1927 You are doing something very wrong if you aren't insta killing ppl with weird on those difficulties. You can easily have a DC of 40 or so and aside from bosses which will be immune to insta kill effects most of the times you can just kill everything else or at least stun them.
arguably no. but you can only replay divinity 2 so many times. also this game is more in the family of baldurs gate, neverwinter nights, and icewind dale. also the elves in this arent as ugly.
Tough call, if I had to choose to have only experienced one.......I would probly go with divinity. Because I played with friends and it was a more complete experience. Evil eye and Enfeeblement spells are useless, mainly because the monster you are going to kill are tough as nail. And because of that, Evil eye and Enfeeblement spells are useless against them due to the high will save or reflex save and AC they have.
In the case of evil eye, that's kinda just... wrong? Like, the deal with evil eye is that it still applies for a single round even if they succeed, so with cackle it's still applied as long as you need. Granted, your go to is applying the - to saves, applying misfortune, and cackling your way to victory bc if anything gets misfortune it's done for.
@@InnsannaStories Misfortune has a constant will save dc of 22. Most boss or even normal mobs at chapter 3 has render this hex useless. Same goes for evil eye, 1 round does not do sh*t. @@williamlai29 that's blatantly false, and also, cackle??? It's not a fixed will save it's based on your stats and it's only once. And you do it on big monsters, not trash. Trash should already be dealt with by Nenio or something. It's the same logic as why fortune is absolutely busted. You just cackle the entire combat and suddenly you have your DPS set up to roll twice for an entire combat, and you can keep applying it as the encounter goes. @@williamlai29 that's calculated off your stats. That happens with every spell and ability that has a DC, the game displays it's calculation of that for you for ease of use. should be "best spells when you're low level". I found that fire spells were useful until later in the game, then it was useless. Grease became useless. The pits became useless. In the end only the touch based spells are feasible (hard+ difficulty)
You can straight up cripple most enemies with a Touch of Gracelessness spell turned into a ray with metamagic.
now I know the best spells in the arcane spellbook

In Kingmaker Delay Poison Communal and Stinking Cloud straight up wins almost every battle. Here enemies have some absurd resistances and immunities.

Yes good point! I ran a brown fur transmuter mercenary in my party, it is OP!
the most annoying thing about grease is that it's actually +25% larger radius than the ui says. Still the go-to level 1

Haste potion functions exactly like haste with the drinker as the center target affecting all allies in an area
