    Germany.
    Various shots show long lines of armoured cars and tanks being driven out of a factory. Inside a German armament factory we see tanks being made on a production line.
    German voiceover / sound begins (01:14:30).
    More factory shots. In a German shipyard we see several shots of U-boats being built. Various shots show U-boats being launched; some are so huge they are launched sideways. Much of this footage is quite dark.
    Note: probably captured German footage. Also, other items of footage contain this item.

    timestamping this for some people that can't believe that a roof is absent when the gun is being placed in a StuG

      The roofs on stugs were only bolted into place as to service the transmission or to replace it you had to remove it. In the mark 3's the whole turret and turret basket was lifted out to put a transmission in in maintenance. A bloody nightmare to service were German tanks.

      @damianousley8833 atleast they were easier to service then soviet tanks, that's assuming of course, they even would service them instead of just replace them lol

      They were beaten due to a number of factors, one being the Nazi centralised control was so bureaucratic that getting the raw materials and tooling was a minor miracle. You had to have the right party connections and influence to get awarded contracts and production supplies. The Nazis were their own worst enemies. They could have had the HE 280 fighter jet well before the ME 262 but Heinkel head no political sway and was dismissed a number of times. Even his HE 112 was probably better than the BF ME 109 which had a poor reputation in killing inexperienced pilots especially towards the end of the war due to take-off and landing qualities, which the HE with its wider undercarriage avoided and Kurt Tank designed into the FW 190.

      @@mrwhips3623That's what happens when you piss too many nations and countries off. They form temporary alliances, on the old premise "that your enemies enemy is your friend". Unfortunatly those nations who confronted the fascists early on came out second best at wars end and a new geopolitical and economic scene evolved rapidly at wars end.

    It is humorous to see some workers grinding, filing and hammering. These seem to be fine tuning steps in the building of the armor vehicles. I know the Germans tended to over engineer components and many production man hours could have been saved by cutting out unnecessary steps. Reliability and ease of maintenance certainly should have been a priority. Neither was a hallmark of German vehicles and they also failed to have adequate stocks of spare parts or forward main repair facilities. Also engaging in so called "wonder weapons" was wasteful. That is no way to run a railroad or win a war. Lucky for us they were so dysfunctional on so many levels.

    Love the German propaganda films made to give the impression that weapons just poured off the production lines. In fact the Germans could not compete with the British speed of production let alone the USA speed of production. I can imagine the German military commanders awe struck when told the delay in delivery of Stugs and Mark 3's was due to Geobels and his propaganda film makers. What delivery delayed for propaganda reasons Arrrrh?

      Just because they didn't have raw materials as big as British nor American, but their products were way better quality

      @Ahmad Morsy it is all relative, even before the US was officially in the war, Britian was surpassing the building of tanks numerically. The M3 tank production run was already building up. See videos Chrysler tank factory. They had thousands produced for the British army and the US army and marines. The M4 sherman in its initial production output came into service just before the battle of El Alemain with the British and was more than a match for the early Mark 4's and Mark 3's. Unfortunately the total number of heavy tanks, Tigers and Panthers the Germans produced was no way near enough and it was left to the Mark 4 panzers and stugs to bear the load as they were quicker to produce and more reliable in service. People understate the effect the British 17 pounder antitank gun had on German armour. 10,000 of these low profile antitank guns were produced during the war, which was more than capable of taking out a Tiger or Panther at considerable range up to 2000 yards, 1800 metres. The 17 pounder came into service late 1942 and saw limited use in Tunisia. The Germans from mid 1943 were in a slow retreat situation with the attrition of troops and equipment, meaning that they could old not find replacements for men and material to satisfy the German army and airforce needs.

      So the Allies didn't make propaganda?🤡

    • @damianousley8833
      @damianousley8833 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @mrwhips3623 Yes, though they allocated resources through production units in concert with the fighting forces and military training units so as not to cause disruption. The results were sometimes better. The wartime production of propaganda movies by the Western powers was more prolific, better organised on production and script values and better entertainment wise than the historical narrative forced tripe the Germans put out. The British and American film studios did their best for training films as well as newsreels and movies on the war theme. The amount of wartime newsreel footage in the western allies was more than likely 3 times the output of Nazi Germany. As for factual news, most Germans tuned into the BBC and affiliated occupied country radio broadcasts to get real news, not the 24 hours a day propaganda of Nazi Germany. It is to great credit not to much censorship was used in the Allied media and only certain incidents were covered up as to not give the German military machine passive news of intelligence value as to the effects of bombing raids of English coastal centres. The allied film industries also produced movies that provided relief and a form of momentary escapism from the war.
