I saw John Edward live once. We waited for a very long time for him to appear on stage. I sat and listened to audience members discussing life episode that they hoped he would "hit on". This intrigued me and we went to see him another time. The exact same thing happened. I believe he either has employees in the audience or listening devices getting stories from people. OR possibly using shills in the audience just like magicians. He may also be using a combo of those methods and cold reading.

You are so funny, loved the gopher reference.. woodchucks and bunnies. You never fail to make me laugh.
I think that "psychic mediums" know a lot about behavioral psychology. I knew a friend's mom
who did psychic readings, and when I called her out, she revealed some of her methods/skills.
For instance, a friend got a reading from her. She looked at his hands, as though looking at
his palm lines for "signs". She said, "You are a musician, you play the guitar". He was amazed
and was at that point, taken in. This is when the subject's mind glazes over and is now receptive
to suggestion. Like hypnosis. She knew he played the guitar because he had callouses on his
fingers. No mystery, just keen observation mixed with showman know how. The mind glaze can
happen to a large group of people if they believe that they have proof of magical powers.

My husband had a hard time dealing with his father's death. He started seeing "psychics" who convinced him that the father was communicating through them. At first I didn't say anything as this seemed to give my husband some solace. (I thought it was nuts). Then I learned how much money was being handed over to the psychics. It was a lot. I stopped being silent and started to point out all the flaws in the so-called "readings." It took some time, but my husband no longer pays psychics to talk to dead relatives.

And, "she's afraid to come out!" And, "I'm telling her to go home, but she won't leave the deck." I was frustrated because I kept saying, "please can you give me the address?" But no answer. Finally, another neighbor answered, "She's a psychic. She is only getting IMPRESSIONS, not actually seeing your cat crying under a deck." Ugh. NOT helping. I eventually did get my cat back, two weeks later, but it was not from any help from any "psychic," who only stoked my anxiety and got my hopes up for nothing.

His "abilities" come at a hefty fee and if you are genuinely trying to help someone, out of your goodness of heart alone, why the price tag? It's interesting there are no guarantees on accuracy. That's handy. If you paid $850 for something, you would surely expect some guarantee. I don’t like the term “psychic” medium. Sounds too….”Woo, woo”!….Yup I get it, so does the term medium! It’s a given that all mediums must have developed psychic abilities; however, not all psychics are mediums. The point of focus for reading (or interpreting) the energy is entirely different. It is important, during a reading NOT to ask questions. Response from the client/sitter should only be “I understand this”, “I don’t understand this”, or “I don’t know”. Evidential mediumship is just that.. the medium relaying information through statements or personality characteristics that are beyond the expected. It may be a shared memory or a very unusual name, occupation, or character/personality trait, to name a few. And yes, surprise, surprise….we do get it wrong on occasion; however, it is most often due to information coming through and how “we” interpret that info. Our logical mind can certainly misinterpret the information based on our own understanding or experience. Giving the information exactly as we receive it is usually most accurate. But you know how we humans are….we just have to manipulate the information in a way that we think makes more sense or sounds better. Every time I do that, I crash and burn! After the reading and the sitter gives me feedback, I think…”Idiot…why didn’t you just shut your rambling mouth and leave the initial statement alone!!!” When the client looks at me like I have a third eye 🤣, that’s when I just need to shut up! We are certainly our own worst enemy sometimes!!! Mediumship is a service, and charging for that service certainly is not ethically inappropriate; however, I feel, when ego takes over and those fees are way beyond what most can actually afford to spend, that, to me, crosses the line into greed. People seek out mediums because they are in grief and just want to know their loved one is ok. However, it is important for people to understand that acceptance of going through the stages of grief is necessary psychologically speaking. It is important that after the passing of a loved one, to take time to try to process through this tragedy. I have seen way too many psychics/mediums playing into their clients grief for monetary gain. If I have a client that is asking for a reading and is initially visually very emotionally distraught,, rather than a reading, I would choose to be a compassionate ear for them and, if need be, refer them to a grief counselor. There are codes of ethics to adhere to in this field of work and to violate those rule/codes can have serious consequences to the client/sitter and the medium, as well. There a reputable and quality psychics and mediums out there. You just have to do your research and be cautious of who you receive services from. If you feel uncomfortable, untrusting, or intimidated in their presence…get up and walk away.

Sylvia brown was good. One day when she was on Montel and as they talked I hurried and gather information on the case. She would reveil her information. The information she reveiled later in the show was just as what she gathered. I too am a Psychic and my information reveils who murdered and where the body is to be located. This man running this site is wrong and doing much damage because God is the one who asked me to do this after Jesus appeared to me on May 9, 1986. If this man running this station makes money while he damages others talking about things he knows nothing about as far as Psychics is concerned.

The readings my grandfather does for random perfect strangers were amazing who were all left at awe.
He delivered exact names, dates, ailments and specifics to people he read, unlike psychic who fish for info from the people he reads.
People are skeptic of psychics because they have to see to believe and there will always be people like that including Dr. Grande.

He repeatedly claims that he's special and Stan keeps calling him out and even goes into the concept of cold reading, but stupid people don't seem to understand and they continue to be fooled. It's also funny because Stan goes to John's house to tell him to stop lying to Kyle, and John has a sound effect when he enters the room that goes "Ladies and gentleman, Psychic John Edward" followed by a clap track implying that he's so full of himself that he has speakers installed throughout the house to remind others that he's entered the room and that they should clap for him.

I stumbled across your video today Dr. Grande and I’m really glad I did. I recently lost a loved one and started listening to mediums on CZcams, but I don’t really believe that there is such a thing as a medium. And if there were such a thing as a true medium why would they want to charge anyone the information that they give? You would think if this is from the soul or from God it would be freely given to bring comfort and closing to the grieving. And looking at different mediums I came across this video and I’m so glad I did. You really have put focus back on what I truly believe that anyone can do a reading just by listening to the person and picking up on certain cues. Several of my friends do go to mediums, I was with my partner for 31 years, we were one not two people in a relationship. I do not need a medium to tell me about my partner and myself or whether are not my partner is in our home or near me. Thank you again

If you watch the readings done by Rev. Donna Seraphina, on the Daybell family (deaths of the children in particular), you'll see a real psychic reading. I don't watch her anymore (newly felt religious reasons - she's truly in touch with the other side which is very very dangerous, even to watch) but I think she's spot on. She's struggling with her physical health, which I believe is a direct consequence in dabbling in the occult, in her case (cancer struggles). I'm pretty sure that Donna helped the investigators find the children's bodies because her visions showed her the locations before the bodies were found on the step father's property. I'd love to see an analysis of Lori Daybell Vallow and or her family: especially Melanie Gibb & Lori's sisters, mother. And of Zulema (a lot of video of her statements - she seems the most innocent, even tho I didn't think so at first - her last police interview posted on CZcams is quite telling).

Ditto! I had a powerful experience with my Lyft driver who claimed he was a medium. He told me things he had NO way of knowing and he wasn't guessing! You see my son had committed suicide. My driver told me my son was in the car with us and wanted to say how sorry he was and that he's done his work so he and I will be on the same level when I die. He said my son was very proud of the work I'd done. I had just finished my 12th step. Sorry Dr. Grande this gentleman didn't know me or anything about me. How did he know all of this? Furthermore, this gentleman was so overcome with emotion, remorse when he was telling me my son was so very sorry for the pain he caused me, he almost pulled the car over. It was so powerful! He wasn't reading me as he was driving. God moves in mysterious ways His wonders to perform.

Even though I am highly sensitive, there is no way I could “cold read” people. Some psychics are unbelievably accurate and specific. my mother saw a well respected psychic. I was around 8 yrs old at the time. She so accurately described the adult lives of my brother and and I, even 40 years later I’m astounded. Keep an open mind. Not everything we see is all there is to know. My father was an INTP who reminds me of you in many ways.. A lawyer and thinker like you. A psychology and philosophy major in college.
