Day Star exactly, and that's why the MCU fails to properly portray the character, they make him into this world saving hero when he is really supposed to be a nerdy, awkward kid who happened to get superpowers, he should then use those powers to aid his community, not be yet another big super hero, we already have too many of those and not enough traditional local neighborhood heros that Spiderman is supposed to be!

@@Luke-xi2pq Exactly. Spider Man 2 perfectly shows what makes Spider Man a real hero. He had a choice, and the 90s animated series made this clear too how much of a struggle it was to be both Peter and Spider Man. Peter chose in the end to be Spider Man not just because he felt it was his responsibility having great power but in the end, even if it ruined his life as Peter Parker, he makes the sacrifice to save other people. Even when he temporarily lost his powers, he couldn't just stand around watching innocent people get hurt. Not many people can do that.

That's just where the hype factor is. The tobey films helped with that, then all the animated series stuck with it too. Its just more interesting to see a kid doing all this stuff, most people who followed spiderman were kids themselves so it was a commonality thing. Im 23 now but growing up i always loved the kid Spider-Man theyve stuck with. Now I would like to see a more grown up one and ps4 definitely served that purpose. But theyre trying to keep with the age group that will always stick with the character. As we grow up, we fall out of older interests, i used to like star wars, now it's too much sci-fi for me. But a kid is always going to appeal to another kid being super cuz it helps to imagine themselves in that position better

The Raimi version has a lot of good acting, and some good plots and portrayals. But in addition to the gland shit, the Raimi trilogy wasted Norman with movie 1, made him look like a Power Ranger, turned Eddie into a wimp who just whines at everything, and took away the twisted set of morals that made Venom so popular.

What I really appreciate about Raimi's Spider-Man is how he was actually portrayed as a loner who wrestles with his inner self and has not that many people he can talk to. He was dedicated to keeping his secret away from people and he never intentionally gave it away to the people who could've been hurt by knowing who he really was. The scenes in SP1, where he sits alone in his room, crying after the graduation, because Uncle Ben wasn't there, and in SP2, where he returns home after having a rough day, to find out it's his birthday, and there are only tree people in the house, break my heart. And that's why I've not been found of the MCU's Spider-Man. His life was too comforting for my taste. The struggle wasn't really there. He had all the friends anyone can ask for. He had Tony Stark and his staff backing him up, half of his class, and even The Avengers. Everyone liked the guy. Even the girl we thought did not like him was actually secretly in love with him. Maguire's Parker did not have sugary life. He worked on a shit job, had shit bosses, he was failing in school, he lived in a shit apartment, and drove on an old motorcycle. That's a textbook definition of a personal struggle. He doesn't even have to fight supervillains to feel beaten down.

"Tom Holland is the best comic accurate Spider-Man"
    The best comic accurate Spider-Man:
    1. Doesn't have money problems
    2. Doesn't care, suffer of PTSD or have nightmares about Uncle Ben during nights
    3. His Aunt May is a irresponsible happy go lucky sexual object that fucks Iron-Man's assistant rather than being a good caring responsible person that just lost his husband and struggles to move on
    4. He's not a FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHER that works for Daily Bugle
    5. Not enough consequences (hope NWH doesn't turn the whole thing into a joke and actually make Peter lose someone by making a sacrifice or something)
    6. Flash Thompson is not even a goddamn bully and he looks like someone that could get his ass kicked by Peter even without his powers (the fact that he dyed his hair blonde in NWH is hilarious as hell)
    7. Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane doesn't exist (for now maybe)
    8. Peter got his first classic suit made by Tony Stark rather than creating his own for wrestling
    9. He's not independent, always needs everyone to cover his butt, gets mentored by every hero and reveals his secret identity on purpose, even in the most idiotic way possible, putting the people he loves in danger
    10. *They completely stole Miles Morales traits, his friend Ganke and copy pasted them on Peter.*
Tom Holland is definitely NOT the best comic accurate Spider-Man, and i'm SICK of fake fans pretending that he is the definitive second coming of christ of all Spider-Men.

My biggest problem with Tom Holland Spider-Man can be shown in the scene in homecoming when the building is on top of him. That moment when he’s trying to lift up the building should’ve shown the audience his motivation to “with great power...” but instead it was all about what tony told him when he took his suit. The only things Tobey haters have to say are dumb reasons like “he cries too much” “he’s ugly” “he’s too old” “he has organic webs” “he doesn’t quip” Tobeys quips are spread out across each movie so they feel more natural, the reason people say Andrew quips a ton is because most of his quips are in 1 scene and the rest of his scenes have 1-2 quips at maximum, so he comes off as a bully. Tobey “crying too much” is a bad point because he cried when necessary and for good reason, 1. He cried when Uncle Ben died, the man who raised him like his own son, dying right in front of him, why wouldn’t you cry if that was you? 2. He cried when missing Uncle Ben and wishing he was at his graduation. 3. He cried when the person he’s had a crush on since he was 6 years old and was about to propose to while he’s in a relationship with her, she fell in love with someone else, since this is one of his first relationships as well I think this is quite a good reason to cry. And the last time he cried is in Spider-Man 3 when his childhood best friend sacrificed himself to save his life and died in his arms, how would you not cry if that was you..? So in total Tobey only cried *4* times, which isn’t too much and they’re necessary. Tobey isn’t ugly, that’s your own preference if you find him attractive or not, Peter Parker isn’t supposed to be attractive, if he was attractive he would be one of the most popular kids in school and wouldn’t have been bullied. Tobey isn’t too old because he’s playing an 18 year old Peter Parker in Spider-Man 1, a 20 year old Peter in Spider-Man 2 and a 23 year old Peter in Spider-Man 3, I don’t see how he’s too old for that if he’s playing an older Spider-Man. The organic webs don’t have a major impact on his character, the organic webs were done by Raimi cause he was inspired by James Cameron’s decision from his cancelled Spider-Man movie, raimi also stated that he made them organic cause not every kid is smart enough to make web shooters and he did it to make him more relatable, it doesn’t affect his character In any way. Tom and Andrew have cried more times than Tobey has and the only time Tom cried when necessary was when Iron Man died in front of him, a example of him crying over something dumb is when he lost the stark suit in homecoming.

When people say Tom is the most accurate all they have to say is “he’s young” “he’s got web shooters” “he’s in high school” “his lenses move” which are dumb reasons, none of them affect his character apart from him being in high school, and Peter hasn’t been in high school since the 1960s.

I don’t judge the spider man over their looks and personality, i judge them over their choices and comic accuracy.
Tobey is the best imo, he has potential the other two couldn’t have, the way he tries to make it through his problems, and the way he is just the nerdy kid from queens we all know him to be, not to mention how this was the first trilogy, which is why he is everyone’s favourite, he will ALWAYS be spider man.
I feel like Tom’s spider man focuses too much on the villains and comedy. Thing i love about Tobey is that he fits the comedy he uses when he is in the suit and darkness so well together, although there isn’t too much, i can give you some examples:
    “Here’s your change”
“I guess you haven’t heard, I’m the sheriff around these parts”
“That’s a cute outfit, did your husband give it you?”
“I missed the part where that’s my problem”
    “Cya chump”
Toms spiderman also leaves out the main parts that help him fight his enemies, plus I have noticed that Tom’s spider man fully relies on tech, except at the end of homecoming. And the way he is in love with Liz Allan and when she leaves he quickly changes to MJ (Michelle Jones)
    Andrew…..
