Navy Log and Silent Service were my favorite in the fifties. I joined the Navy and spent 20 years in the Submarine Service.

There was a third one I liked. Flight was about the air force, and Big Picture was about the Army but didn't have dramatized series. I wound up in the Army from 1968 to 1971,

Thanks to the Bubble heads. USMC here 1974-78. Served on several different Gators on deployment. Even stuck on Shore Patrol in Rota Spain once.

'First time I've seen an episode of this series. These characters remind me of my Dad... Army Tanker, then Air Corps, Air Force, Retired, Civil Service.

Damn, I was hoping this would be about a different Bill Lee - William "Iron Man" Lee of the Marine Corps, who got off an immortal line when checking in to his new duty station in China.
A young lieutenant looked up from his desk and said, "Lee, is that a Navy Cross I see you wearing?"
Lee: "No sir. That's three of them."

In case you don't want to scroll through all the comments, I will repeat that the title of this episode is "Buzz Boy," not "Bill Lee."

Right off they say it was Aug 1942 at NAS Corpus Christi. He said he was in a Hellcat but the video was of a Wildcat. The Hellcat wasn't out yet. And he said the Army was flying P-51's. They were not out yet either. In 1942 they were probably flying the P-40's. They wouldn't give brand new pilots the newest and best planes.

He said he was flying a Hellcat at beginning of the film. Army Air Corps flew Thunderbolts.
What may have confused you was they called his plane an old pickle jug and the
P-47 was called the Jug because of it's shape.

Folks... "civil defense" must not be - only - another Gov Agency (DES/FEMA/DHS/"Civil Defense").
... "We......" - ALL - are born "members."
    ... (Basic... humans... surviving... together....?).
Note: Your Gov. "emergency management" personnel, can - and have - used "DES/"Disaster and Emergency Services", for watching who they please...!...?????
I'm not talking, so much, about your average "First Responders"; but, about those - who abuse the "privilege" - while entrusted - Not too...!...?????
While, our true "White Hats" could sure use our respect, praise, honor, trust, and - above all - our creative support!
... Thusly, Any Bad boy's Toys: EOC Dir., DES, EPM, EOC, LEPC, Dispatch, "enforcers", Fire / Hazmat, Medical, S&R, ARC, PCC, NG, DHS, FEMA, NETC, EMI, DOT, EPA...
We can use a Matrix NGO.. "DES - Support, Systems and Services"... to watch "them"... all our "public servants / employees."
(Disaster and Emergency Services - Gov.) --- ( Support, Systems, and Services - our loophole Matrix NGO) for comprehensive contingencies-management capabilities... To mechanize and empower democracy.
There's only one path, to do as you're wanting, to improve the human condition... To mechanize and empower pure direct democracy, in a republic...Through "civil defense" in a 21st century context.
The old time "musters" were where they resolved crucial issues, too. And, as a militia, were neighborhood incident management... comprehensive contingencies-management capabilities.
Note: "hostage population"... Versus..."active and passive civil defense are integral to national security [democratic] posture." To mechanize and empower pure/direct demos-kratia within a republic.
Our loophole, through "their" front doors. Restore your true "active and passive civil defense" /comprehensive contingencies-management capabilities, in a 21st century context. Gigantic possibilities
"We...", who love life (mind, body, heart, soul, spirit... home...), responsible liberty, accountability, no borders or boundaries, happiness, living the art of kindness, while having voice and vote; and, serving our "duty", to set loose, every deadly beast within us, to keep it thus...!...?????
    ... (I.e., WW-2, Slavery, Ignorance, Fear...)...!
"We...", has no borders or boundaries...!...?????
    ...Semper Fidelis...!!!!....
