That interior looks really luxurious it's refreshing to see something different than the mainstream cars. I'd prefer this interior and layout over a 5 series anyway.

I get what you’re trying to say like Volvo and safety or whatever but this car is actually second to Mercedes-Benz right now. The S class and the E class have better crash ratings than the safest Volvo, which I would assume is this.

Your pretty much Right they are cheaper in ways, my Grandpa always said Volvos are like Subarus. Because they last for a long time and best winter cars to drive in but some Volvos are expensive but cheaper in the same ways. But Volvo and Subaru are pretty much the Same car but not related by the same company. So Volvos are cheaper and expensive. But your right they are cheaper than the BMW, Audi and Mercedes Benz.

Na it's not up to par with German, the front fascia looks great but the rear looks thrown together, GERMAN all the way
***** It's not aboit cylinders. It's about performance. In the 90s, the 850 was the first rounded edge Volvo ever. The aesthetic ancestor of these new cars. And it jad an amazing 5 cylinder engine. And inline 5 and for a sedan of that era it was fantastic!

Volvo is KILLING the game right now. Sure, they usually dont offer the same power or driving performance as a BMW or Merc, but they have actually become exponentially less expensive, and have some of the nicest interiors of any car brand, period.
They've really improved their image, by introducing the XC90 and now this. Oh and the V90 too
I agree, Volvo is the definition of luxury queues. Who could dislike the interior? It seems they're bringing back chrome accents, that I love.

I've been getting used to it for the last couple of months here in Sweden and I still think it looks a little odd... The V90 looks MUCH better!

It's not the worst I've seen, but it's in no way on par with the rest of the car. I wish the rear fascia was more concave like the front grille instead of convex like it is now.
holymolydamn I didn't like it at first, but i see them on the road quite frequently in Sweden and it looks great.

Kudos on being just about the only reviewer to show the seats folded down. Others don't seem to get that if you're buying a larger sedan you care about things like space inside. The interior is nice, but they go on and on about and forget this important issue.

Really nice , Kyle! The top of the line Volvo's have always been some of the nicest and most unique luxury sedans and this one doesn't disappoint! Even though I don't like the 4-bangers being the dominant engine option, I think I'll be willing to live with one of these!

So beautiful!!! I go to the L.A. Auto Show every year & always skip Volvo, but I really want to check one of these out when I go there next month! I really wish it offered a V6 or V8. That's my only complaint. Otherwise, I would definitely put it on my shopping list if I was buying a vehicle in this segment.

How is your T6? Any reliability issues?
It has not had any reliability issues, other than a recall or two. My OEM tires had to be replaced at 17K miles, despite plenty of tread left on them. I wobbled pretty bad at highway speed. I am original owner.

LOVE YOUR CHANNEL - one suggestion - just stopped the video at 9:23 because you've been talking about the grille for about 15-20 seconds, but all the video has been of the rear end. I have noticed this in some of your other videos before too - talking about one thing but showing video of something else. When I'm listening to what you're saying, I'm not seeing it, and so I'm having to think in my head from what I saw previously to make sense of the details being discussed. It's something small, but with all the effort and dedication you put into very thorough, high-quality content, I thought it worthwhile to offer this constructively as a suggestion. I'm confused why my parents don't care about Volvos, my aunt has 2 Volvos and she likes both of them, she has a 2008 XC70 and 2017 XC90
Volvos are cheap and her truck cost more than a Volvo. A Volvo would be 40,000 - 60,000 and 40,000 is about one more ten thousand than an average car
price, Volvos are the best cars you can get in my opinion, it's sleek and smooth and the interior is brilliant, the safety it offers is incredibly safe, Also a ten year old

my grandma's 2.0 (4 cylinder) ecoboost ford taurus makes a funny noise. never liked it. but an aftermarket exhaust would make it sound better
to put it into perspective, it sounds like a mini-chainsaw

ThatGearHead I have a 5-cylinder turbo V50, and it sounds amazing, even with the stock exhaust. It also makes power everywhere.

Not a fan of those plastic covers in the front bumber that all new cars have nowadays, looks cheap and bad.

MY2017 Volvo S90 and V90 (upcoming) all have front coil-overs and rear leaf spring suspension. The air suspension is only offered in the back.
Mom has an XC90, and it is AMAZING. Much less expensive than competitors, drives really nicely despite the 4 cylinder, and has much better safety, a lot of tech, and super efficent. Engine is pretty punchy in the T6.

A 2017 Volvo S90 T6 Inscription reminds me of a full-size Buick: quiet, front-wheel drive and luxurious. I would consider a Volvo S90 topmost competitor to a Lincoln Continental. Both vehicles are priced significantly with each other, as well as the Acura RLX and Kia K900.

Maybe I'm not paying attention to other cars but anyone else notice that the rear doors are angled up slightly? Sort of like what Aston Martin does with their angel doors. It's a small detail but can be very helpful especially in a city or downtown area with higher curbs.
Screw Acura TLX, screw Lincoln MKZ...heck I think this even eats the Buick LaCrosse, right into the heart of competitors like Mercedes E300 and BMW 530i. It is that good.
Does the transverse FWD bother me? Considering how Volvo so aggressively prices it (about $10k cheaper than Germans) and how upscale the interior is, I frankly don't care.
That rear end makes it look like a Ford Taurus, but I still like the car. Nice review Kyle!

A great in depth review and such a beautiful car. Volvo is a very underated brand, this Volvo looks very luxurious inside and out with a beautiful designed interior, they have the most confortable seats made, they are safer, cheaper and more reliable than the Mercedes E series. I considered the Mercedes but it's very plain outside design wasn't appealing and the iinterior digital dash looks cheap, it's like a large tablet was just placed there. It would have be better intergrated in the dash. I owned a S80 with a straight 6cyl. and it was great and I felt very safe when driving . It was a very heavy a strong built car. This Volvo will be my next new vehicle.

I have not seen a Volvo S90 like no other country. It turns out that the Car has a Sleeker large body and Has a leather interior and Three choices of leather interior Amber, Blonde and Charcoal.

It kind of funny how Volvo switched to a red turn signal in the rear. On the XC90 at least its a bright led unit, why on earth would they put a normal bulb in the S90?!
It does look like there are 3 LED lights in the turn signal? Look at 8:55

Was it the Inscription trim level? I'm wondering if they're different between the packages.
Yes this drives me INSANE about so many cars. Either go full LED or don't. Stop mixing and matching, no one has given me a satisfactory answer as to why they do this.
They're all the same. I was at the Volvo dealer checking them out, and as to why, I would say cost cutting but then again its not a bargain priced car
