“Your course themes will make a fine addition to my collection.”
You got the reference, well done!
Good job:)
We could also get a lego mario thing
Thanks!
This comment was shorter than I expected.
Night themes
Beach: water waves
Volcano: Meteors or toxic gas
Sewer: water not being see through
Autumn: it could look like the haunted woods and it could have crowbers
Rock/Mountain: the bottom half of the screen could be fog and if you spin jump the fog goes away and for smb3 and 2 you could jump and the fog would go away
In autumn there could be some sight blocking trees (sry for me englisch ima german)
I created a lava themed enemy.
There is an enemy that is a cloud in the 7-6 in super Mario Bros wii that creates a smoke screen.
That enemy would be the same as this one im speaking of, but instead of creating smoke, it would create the toxic gas, that would damage the player.
Note: The smoke screen of the regular version of this enemy doesnt damage the player. It only damages the player when he touches the enemy itself
lemmy koopa you can use fire bars for waves
But volcano theme isn't already at night?
its ash from the volcano erupting
Beach theme FTW
Talkative toddette is everywhere
I love beach theme
But i kinda prefer sewer theme
@@owensfinalproject I am too Mwhahahaha
Riccopenguin me too
There should be a SM64 3D style if we get that advanced
Myth: You can comment in solid blocks if you pause the game during the death animation.
Yeah
You can.
comnent ?
did you mean comment or is Comnent some weird word i never heard of?
@@TheUltimateRare wdym? It clearly says Comment.
3D world can have these themes too, as most of these themes can appear in SMM2.
The ones that aren’t in 3D world can be made for SMM2.
Or they could improvise like they did with the airship and sky themes (for 3D World)
they arent doing major updates anymore :(
Timekeeperz New styles aren’t THAT major. They should do this next anniversary of SMM.
Edit: I meant themes.
Beach: Sunshine Seaside
Volcano: Boiling Blue Bully Belt
Sewer: ???
Autumn: Switchboard Falls
Mountain: Sprawling Savanna
B O N K O N T H E H E A D or they could use Shadow Play Alley as the sewer, I’d like to see that!

I really hope that could be an "Theme Editor" for mix many type of themes, like: An Jungle cave, or an Snowed Mountain, or an Sand Castle....
....and obiviuosly can add Water in EVERY SINGLE THEME
A ghost ship could be really cool
Watery volcano
@@sachajubinville1842 yeah
@@bakrobertjohnston4889 or an Frozen volcano!
This is the list of themes I would like to have (or at least some of them since it's very long): desert cave, ice cave, lava cave, jungle cave, volcano (of course with meteors), ghost airship, sky castle, jungle castle, desert castle and tower( with the same variants of the castle). But most importantly I'd like to put every kind of liquid in every theme (for example a castle with water or a cave with poison) or to remove the liquid (castle without lava). And finally I would add the boiling water that damages you but doesn't kill immediately
The Autumn theme is the best one in the video and should actually be in the game
....mainly because Maple Treeway is the song playing in it
Mario worlds desert kinda looks like it
Here are some other reasons why it's good.
1. It's not something reused from the new super mario bros series
2. Autumn is the best season
3. We don't really have something for autumn, snow is for winter and ground/forest can be used for spring/summer.
So true tjo
.…how many channel are you subbed to
@@thedarkmeme2591 beach can be used for summer
Swinging claws have basically decomfirmed Nintendo ever adding in swinging vines or chains to SMM.
The claws need more options, such as customizable chain length.
What I don’t get is why they have an area called “Extra Styles” but there’s only 1, the one that came with the game. Like come on give it 1 other one like 3D land or something. I’d prefer one like Mario Brothers, Mario Land but I’d take anything to fill that empty space.
My question is why the flip is the ‘extra game styles’ tab PLURAL and not SINGULAR.
As I am someone who loves English, i see this as a crime
@@idot597 that's probably because more were planned but they scrapped it cause it was either not good enough, or they changed their minds?
Now it’s “Extra game style”. Without the 2nd S.
Many people thought it was a mistranslation, but there's still hope!
@@TheUltimateRare As someone who like English, you seem to make quite a few spelling and grammer errors.
I think it'd be cool to add those water or sand fountains that act as a semisolid with a windbox. I always enjoyed those

To be honest, as cool as having all these themes would be, I think Nintendo did a good job choosing all of the important ones for this game, so I'm actually fine with all of the current ones
But they did listen to fans when making this game, and put in the highly requested things people wanted in SMM1. So since these themes are some of the most wanted, it's highly likely that they'd do that again, but with these themes.
@@cabrinius I agree
You just ruined this whole man’s career
Its likely they will expand it more in MM3 because why not.
Maybe what these modders done will be some inspiration for Nintendo,
For now, modders do what ninten-don't,
Even if they are overwriting current themes
Okay, the others are all fine...
We just need a beach theme.
Also the volcano one
And the sewer
Also Tower Theme I Really Really Want This
Why are my comments back then underrated
Yes
Why don't we get a volcano theme for the levels when it's in super worlds? And where is an
underwater Super World theme?
Mario: **casually skips all the levels and goes straight into the castle**
@@ScattTheCat thats basically what speedrunners do
I mean if you use the Ground theme for your Super World, and change the ground tiles to water, it kinda gets the job done but yeah, we really do need an actual Underwater theme.
@@wags696 its in both games
@@lemoh698 Yeah, the Underwater course theme is, I was talking about an Underwater World Map theme, sorry if I was unclear.
Definitely agree on beach, mountain and volcano; they're undoubtedly the most likely candidates for additional themes in an SMM3. I think the next most common one from the original games would be the tower theme, which I'm kinda surprised wasn't included to go with the new vertically-scrolling sublevels.
For that we Can just remove the lava from the castle, I would really like the idea of a theme editor to mix the various theme
You know a little detail I'd like to see in SMM3 is each course theme having a few "palettes" to choose from, so that there can be more variety in stage color schemes and backdrops. For example, the SMB3 Underground theme. You know how everyone wanted the orange ground seen in the beta version? Well, what if that was a pallete you could choose? Maybe you could have the default blue, that nice orange, and maybe a green? Or how about all the ground themes having an autumn option? There's a lot of possibility there!
That would be cool
Tower/Sewers, Beach, Mountain, Volcano, City/Factory
Your voice is relaxing! Keep doing this great work !
Dude, you make good content, keep up the awesome work!
SMMWE is going to have a beach theme and also other cool themes and styles for the courses! Anyway, i also think that it would be cool if SMM2 have these themes!
Team Blue Toad ya I heard but we have to wait till the final version of SMMWE
Do you know by any chance when it comes out?
smmwe?
that youtube channel's videos aren't in my language. I can't speak romance languages
What is smmwe
The thing is most themes are present in the NSMB series, so every theme should be made to older games and 3D world, which takes imagination and time.
But I mean they definitely succeeded with the 4 new themes they added to MM2 feeling like they always were a part of those older games.
I still feel like we are missing themes, but honestly NSMBU needs them the most as it has the potential to make the best traditional levels. Night modes would also have to be implemented but most night mode themes have the same background anyway.
Dude this is an awesome vid and you are so right!
As much as I love Smm2, I want the game to last at least another 4yrs, but I’m super hyper for a SMM3 😅 more themes, enemies, items , and amazing courses.
The more we get closer to the 3rd iteration, the more smashy videos I would love to see
4 year's mario maker = 4 year's Mario maker 2
3:37 while it's an extremely cool style, i can't help but notice that that sewer has windows in the background. Isn't it supposed to be underground?
Hmm i dont know
I think its reusing an actual background from smw
Yes
they could be grates. but they do look more like windows
Yep
All night themes
Ground - Buffed enemies
Underground - Flipped upside-down
Forest - Poisoned water
Desert - Wind
Snow - Slippery terrain
Sky - Low gravity
Castle - Lower gravity for Mario
Airship - Low gravity for enemy
Underwater/Ghost house - Dark level
Autumn - Giant raining leaves
Volcano - Gas
Mountain - Buffed enemies
Beach - Poisonous water
Sewer - Flipped upside-down
Upside down water or Water waves would be better for Beach night
Wrong ( Castle And Airship )
Incredible!

1. Penguin Suit
2. Double Cherry
3. SM64 mushroom - being able to do every SM64 movement
4. F.L.U.D.D
5. SMG mushroom - being able to spin attack and walk on walls and ceilings
6. Cappy - being able to throw it and maybe even capture some enemies
7. Ice Flower
@@jonnslife5569 8. Tanooki Suit
9. Hammer Bro Suit
10. Blue Shell
11. Lucky Cat Bell
12. Super Leaf in 3D World
13. Gold Flower
14. IDK Anymore lol
They Should've added the Ice flour in SMM2 honestly. Way more unique then the Acorn Suit.
@@jonnslife5569 The Penguin Suit can replace it.
Those were very neat ideas.
Thank you for the themes
Another idea I had is a star road theme, maybe like the Nighttime sky theme without the low grav.
I think they should add the rock theme, and at night, change it to volcano
13 mind and 100 comments already and great video. I've been looking for these
We definitly need this
Why not add everything from the mario series itself
Smashy: other game style examples

Night themes:
Beach: Sand lowers your jump height
Volcano: Meteor Storm
Sewer: Dark and Poison Water
Autumn: Leaves slow you and enemies down and hinders your jump height
Mountain: Low Gravity
i was thinking of this as well
There are 4 comments. 2 of them say that they are first, second, etc.
Why
@Sonic The hedgehog ITA Neither do I
If the “first” comments were gone society would evolve to a new level

Tower is not happening. but a couple of these could exist in the future.

Myth: in the Super Mario World style if mario bounces of a trompoline and drops a trampoline it wont fall sightly to the front it will fall straight down!
Like that smashy can see it!
If you see it can i be in the Credits?
I wasn't hooked on the idea of the sewer theme until I saw the connection to mario bros classic, what a cool throwback
I had a really insane idea for Mario Maker 3. So know how Mario Maker is about mixing mechanics? What If you where able to mix tile sets, backgrounds, music, and stage hazards. For example; you could mix the desert tile set with the underground background to make a desert cave, the ground and airship tile sets with the night background to make a city, or mix the underground tile set with the night background and add the low gravity mechanic to create the moon. I also feel like this would make it easier for Nintendo because it would take less effort to create for themes. And that’s my idea for Mario Maker 3!
This is a bit of a long idea.
These aren't in all games and are similar to other styles, hence why they aren't in it
true
Well the Snow and Desert themes weren't in the OG SMW, SMB3, and SMB. Yet they still added those to those versions and were able to make them look nice in those styles, so I think they could do that again.
Same with literally Desert, Snow, Airship, Ghost House, and Forest
Oh and Airship and Sky are similar
Yes finally when I hear you I feel better ty and I agree with this
Those themes will give me nostalgie.
I agree we do need more themes
People: WALUIGI IN SMASH!!!!
Nindendo: Oh, OK! here's your Super Mario Maker 3!
ohh a 5th new character. the WAAAAHHHH
I would much prefer that to be completely honest lol
I agree with some of your points, but if you look at the retro style’s theme select, there are 3 open spots. I think those should be the beach, mountain, and volcano theme as you said. But for the night themes (which you didn’t talk about) should be upside down liquid for the beach and volcano, and scroll stop for the horizontal mountain theme, and the ability to go from one end to the other in the vertical mountain theme (like in doodle jump)
Ok we need these
And on the mountain theme there could be those platforms from that one new super mario game where you shuffle on the wall.
I've been thinking about all of these themes as well. Except Autumn. I had another forest based idea which involves the spooky ghost style with tombstones and graves. "Graveyard theme" It's basically just Ghost House, but you're outside with a touch of forest theme.
👻
Tower theme would also be great, and the volcano theme is the one I'd love to see the most
Bro Thank to show our mods!
This is my favorite video =)
My wanted themes:
Beach
Mountain
Volcano
Ice cave
Sand cave
Autumn
Sewers
Sky castle
Graveyard
We can gave thing to swing on so in the grass one we can have a mossy vine, for the desert we can have a rope, snow an snowy fine, no water, beach is a long palm leaf, forest a regular vine, autumn leafy vine, mountain is a small tree growing out of the rocks, sewer is a piranha plant stem, cloud is a mushroom end, lava is a strip of dry magma (or whatever its called), airship is a rope, and castle is a chain. The nighttime mode for grass makes you move up, dessert rope will fly around when the wind hits it, the snowy vine will make you slip off, slowly falling down the vine. No water level, beach will when the wave of water hits it, it will fall and then regrow shortly after. The forest one the vine will grow when it is on screen and being touched, when it grows too big for mario to grip he will fall and when mario is NOT touching the vine it will become smaller for mario to grab on to. With the atumn one for nighttime mode when mario grabs on the leafy fine it will grow smaller because the leafs are falling off, they fall faster when mario moves. When the vine is to small for mario to grip on he will fall and the leafs that fall in the background will make the leafs come back on the vine. For mountain the small tree will grow green leaves that will spawn little piranha plants and then they will go away. Sewer nighttime mode will make the piranha p,ant stem have a fire piranha at the end shooting fireballs at you. The cloud level will have the mushroom extend all the way to the ground (if no ground, it will extend until it is directly above a pit). For the lava level, the dry magma will sometimes become surrounded with the poison cloud. Airship level the ladders will move from one end to an other end. The castle chain will have a spike ball on the end that will sometimes move up the chain and back down. (The spike ball will be triggerd when a player jumps on a chain). These are the nighttime versions of the vines that can be placed. They can only be placed under three blocks or more of ground and can't be placed more then two blocks a pit and one block above any block or enemy/gizmo/item. Thats all folks.
The sewer one looks super clean, nice
I think you made some really good points. I feel that the autumn theme is too much like the forest theme, but I agree with all the others.
There Is No Forest Theme, There Is A Jungle
That would be a good idea to implement these themes in super mario maker 3.👍
I hope Nintendo adds a "Course Theme Expansion Pack DLC" where you can make levels with the themes in this video
I’d love an autumn theme! Perhaps the night mode would be Halloween styled?
I hope they also add a background/foreground maker where you can place ground enemies ect in the background and foreground to ad extra astedic to your levels or use them to make a cool challenge room in your level!
amazing
What if instead of just normal themes being added to the gameplay they instead added variants of the different themes. For example in the menu you would first select a base theme (forest, water, lava, sand) and then within the base theme there would be a ton of different themes. So for example forest could have things like (normal forest, jungle, autumn forest, snow forest, etc). Then for like sand you could have ones like (desert, Sandy canyon, oasis, etc). It think it would allow us to theme our levels and even worlds way better. Allowing for more geography details to our world maps.
For the SMW Autumn theme, one of the tile decorations should be the fall version of Piranha Plants in the actual game, which look like jack-o'-lanterns.
Finally I have heard your saund
Smash: We need this for smm3!
Smbx: *Am I a joke to you?*
I'm on board with the volcano theme.
My themes:
Beach:nighttime water currents
3DW background: flower-5
Volcano(lava): nighttime meteors
3DW background: glass-tower
Magma Cave(Lava):Nighttime ceiling lava
SMB1/3 background: darkness
SMW background: donut-2
NSMBU: self explanatory
Mountain: nighttime strong gravity
3DW background: 4-hubworld
Tower: nighttime bullet bills
SMB1: darkness
SMB3: the same as castle
SMW: Ludwigs castle, spike trap
NSMBU: simple
Sewer(water): nighttime wrap around and water removal
I don’t like the backgrounds you choose, cause they don’t work with my wrap-around mechanic, so...
SMB1: brick texture
SMB3: brick texture with holes
SMW: heterogene bricks with graffiti
NSMBU: many holes and graffiti
3DW: the underwater castle
Haunted forest(fog):nighttime painted and time weirdness
SMB1 like the Forest theme, but dead
SMB3: same as 1, but more detail
SMW: forest of illusion, trees have faces
NSMBU: the normal one
3DW: the graveyard
Shipwreck(water): nighttime fog layers and poison at the same time!
SMB1: foggy background
SMB3: more foggy background
SMW: storm clouds and the entrance to bowserland
NSMBU: easy
3DW: guess
I have an idea
For the Sewers theme, you could maybe substitute the Forest theme in SMB3, but just make it feel more underground, and for the Mountain theme, you could substitute a vertical Desert level in the SMW style.
Also, here are some other substitutes for different level themes if anyone’s interested.
Train/tank theme: Airship theme in any style. Takes place on the ground, and the segments of leven that that platform on look like train cars/tanks instead of airships.
Beehive theme: Desert in the SM3DW style. Make it cave-y and include lots of brown and yellow things, including Stingbys.
Tree theme: Jungle theme in SMW. Horizontal if there’s multiple trees, and vertical if it’s just one big tree.
All the night themes were: Planet, Space, Flipped, Jungle, Dark Sea, Dark House, Sandstorm, Spaceship, Ice, Sunken Castle
The cool thang is the sewer theme I made something like it I went to the forest theme in Mario bros 3 and had so much fun with it but I did kinda wish I could change the game style.
the swinging chains in the mountain theme could be vines in the jungle, sewer, and plains themes.
And ropes in airships
Unfortunately, Nintendo already added in swinging claws, and the two items are far too similar.
@@pepearown4968 well, so are goombas and goombrats, and they're both in at the same time. Also, only mario, luigi, or a toad can grab a vine. and they can climb vines. Also, I see swinging vine / chain as being something that can be made shorter or longer.
You know what would be cool. Fall transitions.
In the cloud bonus areas in the new mario games, once you get to the end, you fall off the edge.
But instead of dying, you go to someplace else. Its like an invisible pipe.
If launch pipes were added, you could transition upwards aswell.
Also a space or rainbow road theme would be really cool.

Hey, I am all up for this. I would also love transferring levels from SMM2 to SMM3. I don't want to redo all of them. It will take me a long time just to finish a 40-level Super World. All of my future levels for one Super World means the world to me (yep, I ran into that pun).
The sewer them for the nsmbu version that I made actually uses the tileset and is mostly based on the nsmbw version, however having the nsmbds background as one of the semi-solid alternatives.
OMG I never heard your voice its great! 🤩🤩🤩
Volcano Night Theme could have the meteors, it would be pretty cool. Idk about the death cloud, you can recreate it to some extent and a One-Sided Autoscroll would be better feature imo.
Sewers could be merged with pipe land theme instead of it just being smb3 forest. Edit: Lol you literally said that as I wrote it xD
I would also love if they had an Underground Volcano theme. I always love the Underground theme rearrangement that plays in those levels in the New Super Mario Bros. series. Maybe that could be what the course changes into at night? Also, I wish we had a Tower theme
Nintendo said that 3.0 was the last MAJOR update but I wanna know what would count as a "major" update in their eyes. If they add one power up out of nowhere would that be a minor update? If so then would adding one theme be considered a minor update as well? What about adding another game style to world maker?
Does the quantity of items in an update the thing that makes it a major update? Or is it the complexity of one part of the update that makes it a major update.
So as an example lets say the world maker was the only thing that came in 3.0 would it be considered a minor update since its only one thing that came in the update or would it be considered a major update because of how complex it is?
Now lets say only the power ups (including 3d world masks) were the only thing added in 3.0 would they consider it major update because of how many power ups there are? Or would it be considered a minor update because of how simple the power ups are?
If its the quantity of an update that considers wether its a major update or not then how many things can they add in an update before its considered major?
If its the complexity then how complex does it have to be before its considered major?
Another idea for the Sewer Theme.
Vertical levels can be wraparound (like in 7-1 & 7-6 in Super Mario 3). Of course, that would probably only make them one-screen wide instead of two.
