  • Born in 699 CE, Imam Abu Hanifah (may God have mercy on him) lived in proximity to the era of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which afforded him direct access to the firsthand accounts from the Prophet's companions. Initially a tradesman managing a cloth factory, Abu Hanifah was encouraged by scholars, notably Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, to pursue and disseminate religious knowledge. His innate intellectual curiosity and adeptness at synthesizing diverse information led him to establish a school of thought known as the school of opinion (ra'iy). This school emphasized a profound understanding of the Quran and the application of rationality to deduce legal principles. Dr. Shabir Ally points out that Abu Hanifah did not set out to create a new branch of Islamic law; instead, his insightful teachings were organized posthumously by his disciples. Contrasting with other schools that strictly adhered to tradition, Abu Hanifah's methodology was to uncover the underlying principles behind religious actions and teachings, facilitating a flexible and reasoned approach to Islamic law. His principles heavily prioritized the Quran and employed logical criteria to assess the authenticity of hadiths (the sayings and actions of the Prophet). Prominent students like Qadhi Abu Yusuf and Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Shaybani were instrumental in advancing his educational legacy. Abu Hanifah passed away in 767 at the age of 68, having devoted his life to education and justice, enduring imprisonment for opposing what he considered to be injustice and tyranny.

Please give us some more information about his principle in accepting the hadiths.
Give us more information about the sahih hadiths and mutawateer hadiths as well.
I heard some people say that the sahih hadiths are actually not 100% pure but the mutawateer are.

Do we have any confidence that any of the works later attributed to him were actually written by him? How old are the oldest manuscripts of his works, and what are the oldest references to him and his works?

I studies at the Islamic University in Madinah
      Concerning your question
Yes, he wrote books, so it's better you depend on his own book than those attributed to him
      His notable books

It is said Abu Hanifah developed his entire legal system only using 15-300 hadiths. Compare that with musnad ibn hanbal who recorded about 30k hadith. Clearly traditions gained prominence later. Malik only cited about 500 hadith directly from the prophet.

Thank you Dr. Shabir. Indeed Imam Abu Hanifa was quite an intelligent scholar with a unique experience as a trader of textiles. He understood the market and could handle matters of jurisprudence with pragmatism in mind.
His relation with the Umayad authority became particularly acrimonious after some announcements he made since the revolt of Zayd bin Ali bin Abi Taleb was quelled. He expressed support for his cause though he did not support him in person during his revolt. Imam Abu Hanifa had a piercing perception, and he could tell that Zayd's supporters were insincere and disband easily as they did with his predesesors.
Nonetheless his opinion was made known to the authorities, and the Umayad governor of Kufa (Yazid bin Umar bin Hubayrah) took it to heart to discipline Imam Abu Hanifa and force him to fall in line. Yazid was cunning, he could not mistreat Abu Hanifa off hand, so he sent him an Ultimatum to become "bearer of the seal" thereby falling under his authority to seal any decree coming out of his office, such that to the public it would be seen as though it is approved by a well known scholar in jurisprudence.
Abu Hanifa defiantly replied stating "if he commands me to count the entrances of the mosque 🕌 of Waset, I shall not do so !!"
That act of defiance confirmed to Yazid that Abu Hanifa held contempt towards the Umayad rulership and considered this sufficient evidence for the detention and torture of Abu Hanifa to change his mind or to make him an example to others.

What do you think about the recent demonstration in Hamburg where demonstrators are demanding a kalifat to replace the german constitution?

    • @laylaali5977
      @laylaali5977 Před měsícem

I don’t believe most of demonstrators are calling khalifate to replace German government may small number of infiltrators who chanting those slogans and German government, most German media are pro apartheid and genocide supporters so they selectively report these agitators as far having a so called Khalifa government Muslims who believe are low information people because there is concept of state in the Quran or even the Hadiths who are mostly made up reports hence Muslim personal law is civil law less than 3 percent come from Quran rest are opinions of scholars/local costoms and it’s interpreted time and place by the way this idea of Islamic state is a modern idea based on reaction of collapse of Ottoman Empire which was Muslim empire not Islamic just like the other empires

The is a running theme with most of the Imams and even The prophets. This running theme is that they were all prosecuted or imprisoned by an establishments.
My understanding is that they were all against those establishments which were injustice and corrupt.
    The underline question is.
Is this true in our times!!!.
I believe 100% the real scholars of Islam are either imprisoned or systematically killed by the same ideology and establishment who imprisoned prophet and imaam. The Quran is our evidence. Look close who where prophet sent to. And who came against them!!!! The clue is there.
