This is short video which follows my hair-braiding process in Douala from picking out styles to actually getting the hair done and even costs.
I personally prefer that the ladies who braid hair in the markets install my braids because they do it so much better than most salons and at a relatively affordable price. Well, it's a great option if you can stand the heat because there is no air conditioning in the market.

The hair was 3,500 francs? If so that hairstyle would be only $6 U.S. dollars! 😱 I need to be living over there good lord! A hairstyle like that would cost on the cheap end $80 dollars here which equals to 47,000 francs 🥴
I can imagine. When I pay 5000frs for braids here, people actually say I overpaid. It's a whole different ball game abroad. I know my friends made good money from braiding while in college abroad. Interesting!!
