Hoida Mut is iconic in every possible way. I've had it on repeat all day. The melody is so infectious and the Finnish language sounds beautiful. Also nice to have a bit of English in there. Of course, we don't know what's coming up in UMK, but I wouldn't mind if Finland is sending Benjamin to Eurovision. It's refreshing.

@@markuserikssen actually I expect a lot from Robin. He is amazing performer and some of his english song are quite catchy and Eurovision suited. I don't know will it be different enough to success. I think we cannot do well with general pop song no matter how great they are. We need something different, maybe Finnish language could be our way to success.

I´m from Finland and personally I´ve loved all of our rock entries in the Eurovision, but I agree that this time we should go for something different. Keira is really good, but Benjamin is my favourite so far.
Except so many other countries have 80s synthwave songs in their NF and then this will be lost among the others.

@@sav0001 Yeah, it's still synthwave mate. Don't paint broad strokes in a narrow canvas. And it's not just in Estonia. There's one in Belgium and Austria as well. I can tell you Cherine is highly likely to win. Can you imagine if they all win though? It would be Synthvision 2023.

@@msp_qtlauri_6294 I recognize this situation. The Netherlands, where I'm from, had the same up until last year. People were afraid to send Dutch songs as the language sounds a bit weird/harsh. But then S10 saved us by sending a song in Dutch, and everyone was like: Oh wow, she made Dutch sound beautiful again! And then we got proud of her for singing in Dutch. 😅 So now it's Finland's turn!
@@msp_qtlauri_6294 And yes, the song, as well as emotions, are important to convey a message! You can "feel" a song even without understanding that language. I listen a loooot to Finnish music and don't understand any word of it... 🤭
@@markuserikssen yea we have same option about it!! But still i dont think we never send finnish song to Eurovision 🥲 Ram Pam Pam last year in umk was in finnish and EVERYBODY LOVED IT!!! it selected the finnish best song in 2022, but she didn’t WIN umk because it was finnish language

Your Finnish was awesome 💞 As a Finn I think that because of 100% televote in semifinals, this have very big potential in eurovision. At the first time I didn't like this but right after I had to listen to this because it's so catchy 😩❤️🔥😍. Keira debuted as 10th in Finland's top 50 list on Spotify and I guess this will do better. I can comment which are today's position for Keira and Benjamin 🥰🥰🥰
Both songs are amazing. I'm just curious to find out what Robin and the others will come up with. UMK sets the bar very high and I'm expecting a few more surprises. If not, Benjamin should definitely go to Eurovision. It's really refreshing!

I'm witholding my judgement until I see all the songs live, since last year that really changed my vote. Keira's song is more what I usually listen to, but I get the appeal of Benjamin, too. I have to say, I had a very uncharacteristic of me reaction when I first saw this, and that was an almost maternal thought: if we send this to ESC, the fans are gonna eat him alive. Can YLE afford the security to keep him safe? 😂

I love this! Exists very much in the same world as Isaac Sene's "Kuuma Jäbä" from UMK22, perhaps just a little more mainstream and accessible.

honestly when the song first was released i thought that its for sure a banger (no pun intended :D) but maybe not totally eurovision, but i gotta say i might have had a change of heart today after having it on repeat :D finland is basically known for grumpy people and darkness so its not really connected to sexiness and lust, so having a song bring that side of the country forward might actually be very refreshing !! benjamin is such a good artist and a influencer i have been following for a while, so im so stoked to see him doing this massive project! its also always cool to see queer people succeeding
why not for Eurovision? A song is a song and Eurovision is just a platform to show it.
@@sharkan44 oh yes sorry i worded it wrong engilsh is not my first language, but many finns feel like its just not a song that would do as well as in eurovision as for example kieras song !! it still will forsure be a massive summer hit and be played in all the clubs here hahah

My subjective opinion from Poland is that Benjamin’s song is absolutny the best from what Finland has this year! Finish language in this song sounds amazing and there are still a few catchy english phrases. I am sending this song to all my friends all over the Europe.

@@pawekozera7230 hahah yea, after giving it time and with the new songs that have come out its grown now to be my veeeeery close second, i absolutely fell in love with käärijäs song so that takes the win for me hahah and yeah, he came out in the summer of 2021 if i remember correctly !!

I do agree that this 80s synth pop comeback has become outdated by this point. The song was okay, it is more radio-friendly than suitable for Eurovision. I do like that it is in Finnish.

Songs like this is great to listen to as a recording.. Love the eighties vibe! But i think this may be hard to do on stage. And my concern comes from the fact i also loved Macedonia 2017 and 2018 entries, but both flopped because of bad staging. However! He does have the charisma.. Hope to be proven wrong. Maybe Finland can do better.
Changing the visual concept for the lives was such a mistake. I looooved what they did in the MV, not so much the set up in the lives.
I love Benjamins style and vision and exploration into the world of queer expression. The song is great, I just wish I hadn’t heard N-Y-T (a recent single of his) as I love that song so much 🤣🤣 Hoida Mut is fantastic though!

This will be yet another slick and well-crafted pop song that will not make it to Liverpool. It's rather depressing. 'Cha cha cha' is good as well, so it's not a disaster at all for Finland, but there is a bloodbath going on among the high quality radio-friendly stuff ('Nochentera' and 'I Was Gonna Marry Him' were beaten as well).
Love Hoida mut, would love to see it in eurovision but I don't think it has a chance to win saddly. I still think people will vote Robin's song to the win.

Tbh I dont really see what is so exciting about this song.. Everyone has their opinion of cource but this not eurovision material. It is more like a basic radio hit.

@Miranda Healy . I can see what you mean. I have been following these guys for several years. More recently Its more about them showing off, but I suppose its their own channel. It will lose them viewers if it continues so I hope they listen to the comments.
I gotta agree with polegend godnova's comment on your website. Stop this 1980s trend, I never liked it when it started in 2019 and growing up in the 1990s, I was always annoyed by our public radio stations still playing tracks from the 1980s (outside of oldie shows). I think that synthie pop is just bland and the most boring kinda music ever. It's basically Valium for the brain. Benjamin's song needs more bass, maybe a saxophone, some music reminiscent of night life, I don't know how to describe it better. And a more sultry vocal style. And melody. To me, it seems as if the lyrics (and video footage) are hot as chili, while the whole sound seems more like a moldy, mild green bell pepper.
a complete plagiarism of Xeinn's song for the benidorm fest 2022 but exactly the same!!!! Very strong!! Please listen to the similarity because it is impressive
