You made a great decision Genin. I’d love to have a mini-x in the woodyard. If you have occasional help you can really buck some logs up quickly. One on the excavator and one running the saw.
Well... someone just leveled up! Looks like you have a pretty good handle on running it already. The 12-22 is a great machine, I actually had one on order with Gerry but after careful consideration, knowing that I would be working alone quite a bit, I came to the same conclusion, almost pulled the trigger on the Ultra but ultimately decided on the Axis. I'll bet when you brought that home, your back breathed a sigh of relief. 🤣 Now that you have the Ultra, that mini-x will make your operation so much more diverse, from felling trees, bucking logs, dig ops, setting posts, etc. Given your situation, this was a no-brainer.
Definitely a great choice, so much easier cutting with the logs suspended in the air. I've been shopping around for something to help me out around here too. One day!!!🍻
Niiiiiiicccccceeeeee Bud! And you are correct, many, many firewood guys are getting into mini-ex's. I'm sure you'll find it very handy. Glad to hear that you found a home for the 12-22 as well. Congratulations to you Bud! I also respect that you stayed in a size/cost machine that doesn't REQUIRE you to use it to make firewood. To me, that was exceptionally smart of you. Yes, it's nice to be able to make money with it, but not HAVE TO make money with it.
That 12" bucket will make it easy to buck up logs. You'll be able to pick up the log between 16" marks and have little waste. Your back will thank you for being able to use the chainsaw in an upright cutting position.
That’s exactly what I was thinking with the 12” bucket. I don’t know if I’ll do all my bucking with the mini but at least I’ll be able to use it to put the logs in idea positions. Thanks for watching and have a great week!
I think you made an excellent decision! I would love to have an excavator.. They’re really handy for a lot of things. I sure would’ve like to have had one yesterday bucking up logs 🤣🤣 Have a great week Genin
I think you did what makes sense for you!! Everyone has different needs because they have different situations. Thats why Andrew and Chris make so many different splitters!! Good choice on re-investing the money so it doesn’t get lost in translation 😂 Take care Genin👊🏻
Good purchase. The way i see it is it equivalent to me having a boat for fishing. Its my hobby. Yes an expensive one but i enjoy it. It would be far cheaper to just buy my fish then have the boat to get them. Only live once. Do what ya can within your means.
Love the new toy, definitely will pay itself off soon. I feel you are a fellow firewood addict, love to have you on my podcast - firewood addicts podcast series. Let me know if there's any interest. Keep cuttin'!
They're great machines and at 1600 hrs thats not bad at all if it was maintained as you said. Don't miss the hydraulic case drain filter when you service it, prolly under the floor board near the rotary union. I've got an E35i long arm which is a step up from my old 331 which still runs fine after 20+ years. Great in the yard and small enough to go grab logs somewhere else and truck them home, sucks you sold the 12-22 never figured on that.
Hydraulic case drain as in on the bottom of the pump? I never figured on I’d sell the 12-22 but needs change and I just wasn’t using it any more. I really would have loved to have an e35, maybe next time! Thanks for watching and have a great week!
@@765Guys Case drains are from the drive motors, they release extra fluid pressure so it does not blow out the outer drive motor seals. The fluid is filtered on the return. Very important to keep that filter flowing and on these bobcats ( mine it is at least , 2017 35i) it's often tucked down under the floor board and is easily missed. If you buy the 1000 hr service kit from bobcat that filter is in the set, outside of that you may never go looking for it. FYI the Hydraulic filler cap is a filter that gets changed every 1000 hrs as well and is also part of the service kit.
@@Tonnsfabrication got it, I thought a service kit and changed everything per owners manual procedures. I did change hydraulic fill cap, I hear that’s important with a pressurized system. One thing I’m definitely pleased about is how easy it is to find bobcat online owners manuals.
@@765Guys You did good getting the service kit , some guys cross to napa filters or whatever so I figured I'd throw it out there just in case. Filters are cheaper than parts and so is grease. You looked good on the machine could tell ya been on them before. Put you a hitch on that blade and you'll be in like you never imagined. I use that hitch so much I can't even begin to tell ya, moving trailers, campers log splitters etc.
@@Tonnsfabrication thanks, I’ve spent a lot of time in e26’s and e35’s. This machine has such a small hydraulic system and isn’t nearly as smooth as the larger machines but it is responsive and quick. Good idea on the hitch for the blade!
Yep, good choice. I like to have one just like it! On the live stream I didn’t hear “excavator” and thought you got a skid loader until you said it had a thumb. Be awesome just for holding logs.👍🏻
Yes holding logs, sorting through logs, just lots of little stuff I can use it for in regard to firewood. alot of other tasks I can do with it as well. Thanks for watching!
You absolutely made the right decision. That mini is going to speed your saw time and save your back. You do so well with the ultra by yourself. You could build a box like I copied from HWM. Use your excavator to drop the rounds into and roll them right onto the ultra. Great decision. So are you going to bring that to HFH. By the way I have never got a sticker from you. Bring some along. Later. I am super excited for you. Many uses for an excavator.
You Made the Right Choice Genin, by selling the 12-22 to get a Mini Excavator, If you have the Money Right Now would you buy a Split-fire Log Splitter Attachment for your Excavator,
Thanks! I’m going to either going to make a quick tach to excavator adaptor to run my tractor splitter or wait until eastonmade offers an excavator mounted splitter. They have the new mini skid splitter that looks lightweight and fast so that would be my first choice if I buy a splitter.
I’m sure there will be scenarios in which I will miss it, but I really love running the ultra and having the mini ex will be extremely handy with all sorts of projects and firewood.
Very smart move Genin! That mini-x will serve you in so many ways along with saving your back in the long run.
Thanks bill!
You made a great decision Genin. I’d love to have a mini-x in the woodyard. If you have occasional help you can really buck some logs up quickly. One on the excavator and one running the saw.
Thanks dick, I agree, bucking is quick and painless with 2 guys and 1 mini ex. Have yourself a great and safe week!
Yeah. I’m gonna need to borrow that.
I’m sure you do 😂
LOL, that reply just made me spit out my coffee!
Wise choice Genin!
I’m trying to be more happy for you than jealous of you ,but you’re making it difficult!! 😂😂
😂 thanks Jacob! You’ve got Cruze though and he’s a better helper than a mini ex!

Thanks, it’ll definitely come in handy with alot of things other than firewood, but I’ll get alot of use out of it firewood related. Have a great day!
The bigger the boy, the bigger the toy 😂😂. Seem's like a good choice
That’s right, thanks!
Definitely a great choice, so much easier cutting with the logs suspended in the air. I've been shopping around for something to help me out around here too. One day!!!🍻
Thanks jack, I don’t know if I’ll do all my bucking with it but it’ll certainly make it easy to put the logs in good spots or heights for cutting.
They are very handy machines! You’ll love it
Thanks Jacob!

I comply understand why you went the direction you did. My father in-law has an E20 its a great machine, supper helpful to have around.
Thanks Tony, I thought about it for along time and finally pulled the trigger.
That mini is pretty cool! Sure will come in handy!! Definitely a great choice Genin👍👍
Thanks Jeremiah, I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it!
Good choice. No mistakes here. You now have the ultimate helper.
That’s very well put, thanks Kenny!

Excellent choice
Thanks Lonnie!
Great choice to make your life easier!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks David!
I think that was a good decision. Mini ex makes one heck of a saw buck😁.
Heck yeah it does 😂

Excellent choice I use mine a ton in the woodyard, mine is a 334 Bobcat. You will love it
Thanks Ted, would have loved to have one the size of a 334 but just out of my price range.
@765Guys mine is a 07 I bought it about 2017 long before the prices went crazy.
Tell Quinton to get his ass over there and make some videos. Just kidding, life gets in the way sometimes
😂 life gets busy, can’t blame anyone for that.
